The story of Berserk is set in medieval ages and revolves around the character of Guts, a mercenary who joins the Band of Hawks (not by choice) and develops as a person in a group.
This is a very old anime, so the art/animation is not so good, which is where it lost a few points.
The soundtrack fit really well, especially in the action scenes; they build tension and excitement when it is needed (also has a jamming opening and ending).
