I feel like especially in the west Whisper of the Heart isn’t as well known and it’s such a shame. Both are incredibly endearing stories about young girls trying to find their place in the world. Where Kiki mixes it up with fantasy, Whisper of the Heart doesn’t have as much of it, but it doubles in realistic representation. The romance is a little bit more accentuated but it doesn’t belittle either characters involved and it’s honestly heartwarming
