A fun, enjoyable watch. What you see in the first 3 to 4 episodes is what you get - if you enjoyed and laughed in the beginning, be sure to stick around. There is no grand build up in the story arc or a mind-blowing gimmick to make you re-think this genre of animes. The premise of the imbalance of fortune for Ichiko is merely an enabler of bizarre and intriguing moments for the characters to shine. The lack of a serious focus on "plot thickening" moments coupled with the deliberate direction towards well-timed gags and references - it all works to the show's strengths.

Yoichi, who also had a hand in numerous Gintama eps, directed Binbougami ga! and the similarities in episode flow and humour are definitely noticeable (albeit less of breaking the fourth wall). Side note: Kumagai (stuffed bear doll) has some similarities with Elizabeth in Gintama in the way they communicate.
The main characters in Ichiko and Momiji are the real stars with high quality voice acting as well as a natural and convincing development in their relationship throughout the story. Even the designs for supporting characters are decent with clear roles. The counterpart of god of misfortune (i.e. Momiji and Ayame) is missing, which seems to exaggerate the power imbalance of the main character. This might be for the better to allow the main character duo to shine more rather than dilute the story with another trope.
Overall, this show is clear about its goal of being a feel-good, funny, parody rich anime with surprisingly charming characters. OP and ED are a nice bonus with the ED lyrics adding a nod to Ichiko's character. One thing to note - fanservice is definitely there but not so much to be a deterrent.
