Hey, I just read your Dungeon Meshi review. I can see where you’re coming from, the show’s somewhat episodic nature, especially the early episodes focused on cooking, can definitely break the immersion for some people. But it’s worth noting that the cooking isn’t there just for the sake of comedy or to showcase random dishes. It’s actually their main means of survival, since they enter the dungeon without proper supplies, they have to cook to stay alive, regain energy, and keep pushing deeper in their quest to save their lost comrade.
So, while it might seem repetitive or trivial at first, it’s an essential part of the story’s core theme, survival through adaptation and creativity. Still, if you found that aspect boring, that’s totally fair, I just wanted to point out that the cooking isn’t random filler, but a meaningful and one of the central theme.
