Let's start by saying that I watched the anime, and after that, I wanted to know how the story ended so, I dug into the mnga, and it was totally worth it. Honestly I don't get why's there so much hate towards this particular series, I found it to be quite enjoyable.
Story: 6
So here we go Again.
guy meets weird girl.
She happens to be an alien.
They're bound through some sort of ceremony and then cute girls fall everywhere around this apparently boring regular guy.
The typical harem-ecchi-comedy plotline.
Except, that this one focus on the mysteries of a species sumissive slaves, the DearS, and the
...
mythical "gift" that gives one of them the right to choose their master.
I gave it a 6 because the story kinda drags itself trough the volumes, only to climax real suddenly - though with a great ending- in 2/3 volumes.
Art: 7
Notmuch to say there, love it, specially the chibi skits that popped really often through the manga.
Character: 7
You get to see ll the characters grow, as the manga takes awhile to develop, you kinda get attached to all of them, and in a way you can see how the dearS kinda "humanize" themselves, while interacting with the human species.
Overall: 7
It's a light manga with lots of funny stuff that's really great for when you want to relax and read some light story with some ecchiness involved.

You know when you're making a puzzle, and then when the picture begins to make sense ... you realize the box is missing a few pieces?
Well... let's say this "puzzle" has 1000 pieces, but you're only given like 300.
That was the feeling this particular series gave me when i finished watching it.
Story: 5
I give it such a low score, not because it's bad, I mean, the parent story seems awesome, but this adaptation, is just plain incomplete - it stopped in the 2nd or 3rd volume of an 8 volume manga so.... - and filled with tons of fan service.
It starts really promisingly.
Aliens
...
(DearS) come from space, and turn out not only to be amicable (and skilled in languages) , but to be in the most part cute humanoid girls, with weird collars, and some huge hairdos. Takeya (main guy) finds one(Ren) in the street, and they.... connect.
I can see why people may compare it with chobits somehow... but at the same time is completely different.
You can really tell it stops randomly and the last episode is just some weird sort of cheesy wrapping "happy ending" that's made just so it doesn't end in complete suspense.
You get a lot of questions during the whole season, but virtually no answers (I'm even reading the manga to find out what actually happens)
Art and Sound: 7
The art is actually quite cute, nothing to complain there. the characters are cute and is all nicely animated (love the way they made the chibis :P )
Ditto to the soundtrack, not too great, nor too awful.
Character: 5
Even though I love all the main Characters in a different way - Miu is really fun with all the mood swings and unnecessary drama, and Neneko and her dark humour get me all the time - The story's problem maintains, and theres no character evolution at all.
I mean, apart from Ren getting better at household chores and stuff, you really get the feeling you don't get to know all there is to know about everyone, like for example, takeya's family and the weird relationship between them.again, it's not that they're bad characters, just undeveloped.
Overall: 6
If you want an anime with not much of a story per se, cute characters, and tons of boobs, you'll find it here, but if you're a teentsy bit like me, you'll get the feeling this is just lacking too much in the story department to make it more enjoyable, and you'll eventually drop it, or read the manga for curiosity's sake.

Want to watch some old school maho shojo? Well go for it, with Magic Knight Rayearth, but be warned, don't expect pre-teen romance, glittery accessories and lacy uniforms you won't get it here.
Story: 9
I – as many of my anime loving friends- am a big Clamp fan.
Love the way they can tell a story and how they seem to make original things while doing it. This was no exception.
You get really hooked in the story itself, as it slowly unveils through their journey, even though the main plot may be a bit cliché at first – Endangered princess in a parallel world needs rescuing

from evil wizard, and only the chosen ones can do it properly yada yada yada – it all comes out to a surprising twist in the end.
This was the first the first Maho Shojo I’d EVER watched where the girls actually…. Fought?
I mean, the main action did not consist in delicate swirls, and heart shaped attacks. They had swords,they cut beast with it, they even bled occasionally. I’m not all for violence, but in a way is quite refreshing seeing some realism in such a fantastical and delicate genre by nature.

Honestly, I hated the animation and art in this one.
I started watching it because I saw some random scans from the manga, and honestly it looked really alluring. When I started watching it like… 4 years ago, I was a bit shocked with the way they adapted it, even though I don't usually prioritize art over plot when I watch anime.
Evey time I say this about this anime I get the quick reply “Oh, but it was made in 1995, c'mon, don't be picky” and somehow that excuse doesn't make sense to me, if you think about some beautiful animes made even earlier than MKR, for example Sailor Moon.
Is one of those cases in which you shouldn't even look at the manga before watching the anime, because the art will look pretty bad as soon as you have a reference.
Character: 7
So, I gave it a 7 just because you don't get that much character development in the series. I mean, you know them superficially but you never get to know that much about each of the girls’s background story, asides from the fact that Hikaru’s family owns a kendo dohjo, that Umi’s the captain of the fencing team in her school, and that Fuu… Ahm… you actually don’t get any info on Fuu, at least in the first season, besides that she can shot a bow.
By the other hand, I love the way they don't emphasize any of the girls particularly in comparison, there's never a precise “lead” character, they're all as important, and that's quite interesting. All the characters are interesting, but not explored enough.

In the overall this is a solid 8.
If you can get past the art – which I eventually did – you get immersed in the mysterious world of Cephiro, with Umi ,Fuu, Hikaru and Mokona in search of the path to saving princess Emeraude and Cephiro from the destruction Zagato represents.
It can bee goofy and fun at times, and a bit dramatic some other times, but it's alway enjoyable.

As I started watching this, I was frankly afraid of falling into a pit of lollicon Ecchi with tons of pre teen boobs fallin all over the screen, but I was gladly surprised with a heartwarming comedy about friendship and loyalty.
Story: 8.
I don't give it a higher grade ONLY because you can tell it's unfinished. I mean, it all wounds up in the last episode, but you can tell the story doesn't stop there(that actually led me to the manga , - that continued for several more years after the anime ended - which I started reading after the finale).
So, I think the concept is

actually quite good, Negi Springfield is a Wizard apprentice who has to complete a mission in order to become a minister magi, and that mission is to be the teacher for a middle school class at an all girls boarding school. It can be kinda difficult if we take in account that he's a 10 years old boy. during his teaching period we get to follow some of his adventures with the all magic world getting entangled with his school teaching world, while getting to know his students bit by bit.
The story is kinda slow developing at first, and it's a bit rushed in the last 4/5 episodes, yet it's still quite enjoyable.
Art: 7
I would give it a 6,5 but well, there goes a 7.
Akamatsu's art is really pretty and clean and detailed, and somehow i think the animation was a little below that if you see the original art and compare it with the one in this series. Is not bad, it could just be a little better I think.
Characters: 8
The staff that adapted the whole manga into an anime had a though job with character development, if you think about it.
It consists in Negi Kun, 31 students plus the school staff, and they all appeared frequently in each episode. In only 26 episodes you couldn't possibly ask fo lots of character development with so many characters, still you got to know most f them at a superficial level, and in the overall they're all really likeable and spiffy.
Overall: 8
Okay, i really liked the all package. It was a really enjoyable story, about young love, crushes, friendship, growth, and a fairly happy ending, and I gotta say, I'm really a sucker for happy endings.

So, when I watched the last - and completely unnecessary to the plot- episode of this series, my reaction was not: "Ooown, how cute!!!" , nor: "This is an amazing anime!!!"
It was literally:
"Wait, that's it?"
I think that pretty much describes my experience with it, if you're not up to reading the entire review.
Story: 5
Maison de Ayakashi is this super elite mansion with wealthy kids that happen to be descendants from monsters from Japanese Culture.
Not only that, but they also have one secret service assigned to each resident, for their protection and stuff.
What may seem like a promising idea to explore Oriental Mythology
...
with some good dosis of action and adventure, turned into a mushy romance between this one girl who was socially awkward(Ririchiyo) and her rather "stalky" obsessive and submissive secret service agent(Miketsukami).
The whole time I kept expecting some surpring twist that would actually make it… interesting.
You sai t floating in between genres, comedy, romance, drama, mistery and supernatural, but it didn’t actully defined itself in the end, it was like watching someone trying to do 5 things at a time. Eventually it will go wrong.
It’s not bad, I mean, is a bit of a cliché, and that really makes it a tad disappointing.

Okay, I gotta admit I love the character design, and the whole ambience of the anime was well captured. The “alternate”/monster forms where rather cool and the sceneries where really appealing to look at.
Characters: 6
No matter how Much I love characters with proper background stories, in this case you had polar opposites. While the Ririchiyo told us almost her entire childhood, you really end the anime knowing practically nothing about the remaining characters, that are given the same importance – i level of story line – as the chairs and teacups used in the breakfast scenes. They can be kinda funny but that's their main purpose – besides the absurd ammount of fan service you get with the female characters.
Sound: 8
I’m givin’ it na 8 just because of all the different endings, that where not only original, but also entertaining.
Overall I give it a 6
It's not terrible, you can watch it at a saturday night when you're bored, but it’s not one of those titles that I would recommend watching, because honestly it wouldn't even occur to me, as all in all the story is kinda forgettable when in comparison with other animes in all the genres this one tried to be.

I started watching Tantei Inaba by accident, I mean, don't usually watch comedy animes, I watch some animes that happen to contain some comedy within the story, so I was pleasantly surprised when I begun to watch Cuticle Tantei Inaba(CTI).
It's a great anime that will make you laugh with all the extreme mood swings you see in almost all episodes.
Story: Okay, let's be honest, "CTI" has no story per se. You have Don Valentino, head of some crazy mafia family and he steals money so... he can eat it. And Inaba and his crew try to arrest him -this isn't even spoiling, as Ahm... it's

basically the base of the entire anime. there's no development, no emocional awakening or soothing like that.
It's a Gag anime, you'll watch it for the laughs not for the story. So I'll give it an 8, because somehow they can pull it all together without that much of a storyline behind it.
Characters: They are all so extreme it's almost impossible not to love them. Again, there's no character growth, but I really don't think that'd be possible anyway :P
In the overall it's really a great comedy anime that goes over the top with crazy plots, crazier characters, some great art and some extra laugh in the middle.
There's not much to say other than you'll watch it if you like to laugh.

This could easily become an awesome anime, if that was the purpose.
The plot it's about a wizardry school for girls, and the main character, Ako, is a clumsy newbie to this magical world who has a different ideal of magic and it's meaning.
Even though there's almost no time to character development, the beautiful animation, soundtrack and design gives this OAV a comforting and "feel good" atmosphere.
Really loved it.

Are you looking for a light anime that you can watch whenever you're bored?
Something comical yeat endearing with funny and overall plain characters who will leave a smile in your face in the end of every episode?
Ahm... then you shouldn't watch shinsekai Yori.
Watch fairy tail or Cuticle tantei Inaba for example – I watch ‘em both and I love them but they’re literally from a diferent realm.
The plot appears to be quite simple if you read the resume in any anime related site, Some kids in a futuristic society discover some life threatening secrets, but don't be fooled, you get sucked into

the story more and more with every episode that goes on, as the story is really complex with detail.
This isn’t one of those in which you get the whole idea just with one episode, trust me. It isn’t.
The thing that I think is brilliant about this plot, is the attention to detail.
Everything is well explained and somehow connects withg the story in the end. They have a proper background history – emperros and previous empires, some mythology – which is proven not to be as mythological as the story develops – and a – freakishly - well structured society. And is that society that happens to be the core of all this. I’m trying really hard not to spoil any of it, but let’s just say that in this anime we watch the consequences of trying to get an utopical society.
Character-wise, the main characters mays start as kids but they all experience this sudden growth, that obviously has it’s price in some cases. As the story develops, Saki stands out more and more becaus of her curious ways, that arent that good in a society based in secrets.
You can get moved for even a secondary character that appears in only one episode, because every character is portraied as human as possible.
The Soundtrack really helps getting in your head with those whimsical songs and all those cliffhangers which I'm pretty sure gave me some white hair while I ha to wait to see the next episode a full week.
Other thing about shinsekai Yori - and actually the thing that makes me love it the most - , is that you end each episode thinking about human nature. It really makes you think about ethics and how far can society go to achieve na image of perfection, passing all the possibilities implied with genetic manipulation. It’s really hard to explain it without spoiling it, but mainly that’s it. an anime that really makes you think.
I'm no anime expert, even though I've watched some over the years, but I can guarantee you that this is the best anime I've seen EVER.
I think I'll rewatch it some times. that's how much I'll love it.
So, if you find the review even remotely appealing, go and watch the anime, I’m pretty sure you’ll love it too.
