A casul watcher. Other hobbies include reading fiction and playing otome and video games. Wait lol I don't even have time for video games anymore but I'm gonna push it. I also like learning new stuff that I probably won't use in real life.
Mostly interested in action/adventure, good character development, and unique storylines. Mostly inclined towards fantasy/historical/sci-fi/psychological/action/sports. Good sound helps, and my tolerance for poor to mediocre animation is higher but I'll certainly give praise to studios that utilize the potential of the medium. Romance is okay, just not a very big fan of it especially when it has low stakes/little comedy involved. Slice-of-life must be really, really good to hold my attention. I also have no interest in watching long-running shows (200+ episodes). Anyhow, my tastes can differ because I'll eventually get sick of something.
I try to be objective and judge an anime on its merits, but personal preference nonetheless factors heavily in what I think is a 'good' anime (like any rating, ever). I review my scores every now and then to adjust to what my current standards are. I still have so many anime series to watch (a curse and a blessing), and I don't drop anything as much as possible. There's a 99% chance nobody cares about my ratings but I'll write about it anyway so I won't forget my standards. "Why won't you just use notes?" I'll do what I want man
9 - Engrossing. Will not mind rewatching it, or maybe something about the series just resonated with me. Lots of memorable moments, can be a guilty pleasure. I'm also probably in love with it. Hard not to binge-watch this if it's a series.
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. "lol u joining the bandwagon bruh." No, its popularity is well-deserved. I think. Haha, who am I to say that
8 - Highly enjoyable. Maybe not that good in one aspect (plot, characters, etc) but it is very entertaining all throughout. The good outweighs the bad by a large margin, you might say. Marathon-able. It's the kind of anime I will recall with generally positive feelings (or anger because sometimes you just want to insult the things you love [science please explain?]). Titles I highly adore and respect fall under this.
- Psycho-Pass. Why don't we have more police anime?
- Stein's Gate. Slooow build-up but worth it.
- Fate/Zero 2nd Season. Can't remember the 1st Season that much but the 2nd one is sick.
7 - I liked it a lot. Very entertaining, has some flaws here and there but they can go from harmless to mildly frustrating. Maybe a title that is even something special and groundbreaking, but I have an attention span of a goldfish and it's usually odd pacing that kills my interest. I won't feel guilty recommending it to others. Might even be initially an 8 or 9 but it probably made me too sad lol. Can be lacking in substance but I don't regret watching it. Don't be surprised if I have a favorite in this.
- Noragami: If it's entertaining and has a lot of likeable characters then it is good enough for me.
6 - Decent/fairly interesting. Usually given to those that have a good premise but whose execution falls short. Basically "well, it's ok." Sometimes the titles that fall under this can actually be great on their own, but personal preferences hindered me from enjoying them. Some, though, are just great boredom relievers that I won't watch again.
- Ouran Koukou Host Club. I don't have strong feelings regarding this.
- most specials/OVAs
5 - Average. I probably forgot most of it the moment I finished the last episode. Not my cup of tea, or it can just be downright cliched and predictable for me to enjoy it. Watching 3-4 episodes in a row will put me to sleep. Not bad I guess, but it becomes irrelevant for me afterwards.
4 - Bad. Lots of glaring flaws. Has potential, but has poor characters and plot. Complete waste of time, and this is probably the worst rating because it means that the anime has nothing to offer, not even unintentional humor. Makes me mad just thinking about it. youtried.png.
- Kuzu no Honkai. Horny teenagers f*cking around, literally. Mature but not meaningful.
3 - Trainwreck in slow motion with Enya's "Only Time" playing in the background. Epitome of the statement, "It's like a bad car accident, it hurts to look, but you just can't turn away." Alas, morbid curiosity is always an inherent trait in all human beings. Most likely unintentionally hilarious. The sarcastic comments and reviews this anime continuously receive will give you life.
2 - Sometimes when I'm being a masochist, I actively hunt down the bottom of the trash bin so I can remind myself that there are worse human beings out there. It will hurt you, yes, but it will also boost your self-esteem. *What are you doing with your life?
- Makura no Danshi. Guys talking to you like Dora the Explorer. Why. I guess there is a demographic for this but...
1 - Repulsive, appalling, just wtf I'm scarred for life. Holy fuck I don't hate myself this much, but since I'm a completionist I always suffer in the end. I will joke about it but flashbacks will kill me a little inside. Will not even recommend it to my worst enemy.
- *eye twitch* Mother****ing Pupa. Cannibalism and incest.. It's less than 40 minutes long but it's forever burned into my retinas
Feel free to add me, but I'm not that active in this site though
