I have unknowingly been watching anime since I was little. The first anime I probably ever watched was a Christian anime called SuperBook. The first animated show I ever got completely obsessed with was called Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs which was on a local station when I was around 8 or 9 (around 1989). Then when I was in college I became a fan of Sailor Moon (summer of 1998) and then after I graduated I watched InuYasha. The first manga I ever read (Legend of Zelda a link to the past) was serialized in Nintendo Power starting in December 1992 (I still have those issues!). I didn't read any more manga until about 2 years ago. Then starting in January of 2008, I just became obsessed. In December 2007 I only owned four volumes of manga. As of the end of April 2009, I own over 300 volumes.

Hey guys! We decide to bring back our club to life! We have made a pretty big list (with pictures!) of all couples we know HERE. Check it out please, and help us by NOMINATIG new couples which we haven't yet noticed.The list will get updated everytime a new canon couple get confirmed!
I know a lot of people have grown up watching some kind of anime (maybe not even realizing it was anime at the time), but they never actually get into it enough to become an anime fan as they get older.
I grew up watching Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors and Dragon Ball Z, but I never considered myself an anime fan until I was in high school when I was exposed to more different kinds of anime/manga.
Oh, it seems like you've started collecting manga right around the same time I have. I started October 2007 with 2 manga to be exact, LOL.
Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with work and about 2 weeks ago I went to an anime convention (Anime Expo).
You turned 30? Oh wow, glad to see some more grown-ups on here. It seems like most people are younger than me (I just turned 24 awhile back).
Anyway, don't worry about the discussion threads. I'll let you know when anything interesting is going on. If you haven't noticed, I've been too busy to keep track of the Group Manga stuff so I might just get rid of it and just have random manga discussions whenever I feel like it.
Having two jobs really doesn't leave you much time for hobbies = /
