A tribute to the world building.
So, it's a story of a young boy who wants to read books and work in library that has monopoly over the text.
On reading synopsis, it looks like a simple story about achieving your dreams and some sort, well it indeed is that type of story if you look on surface level, but when you read it and go deep in the manga it can be seen how much effort the author has put in creating this fantasy world, author's love for books and how important is to protect the text for a civilization to grow.
The first
...
aspect which impressed me the most in this manga is its detailed focus on the world, its people, their culture and history. The way the story focuses on the problems occurring around our main character, such as discrimination caused by the coexistence of different races of humans and provides solutions to these problems is something I consider a part of world building itself, this manga excels in that part. The manga also has a little information about some monuments, places, culture of the world on each chapter which made the world even more deep.
The story is mostly a character driven and all of the characters are really well written. It involves lots of talking(dialogue), it's obvious since it's a story centered around the books, and by "books" I mean the written texts, as a book can be anything as long as there is text written on it. Well, it may sound bit ridiculous like how anything can be book, if you really want to know about it, then you just have to read the manga to understand what the book actually means and what it means to protect the text.
The art and paneling are amazing. Simply one of the best art work I've seen in this medium so far.
So, I'm gonna end my review here and give rating to every aspect of this series.
Art - 10/10(Simply beautiful)
World Building - 10/10
Story - 9/10(I don't want to give a 10 to the ongoing work right now, because the ending of the story is one of the main aspects to consider while giving a perfect score and depending on the way it ends I might change it to a 10.)
Character - 9.5
