...then you might like No Game No Life add

Nonsocial characters in both animes. They play games in order to win. In both anime main characters' boredom lead them to other worlds. In Sword Art Online, the main character is trapped inside the game so he tries to survive by winning and clearing all the levels. Whereas in No Game No Life, the brother and sister are taken to another world by the god and they help the only remaining human city to survive.

I have recently watched the 2nd movie of Kara no Kyoukai and it reminded me Jigoku Shoujo. They have the same dark atmosphere, the main characters have supernatural abilites in both and the stories are realistic in both animes.

The female protagonist of Hiyokoi -Hiyorin- have the shy character of Sawako (from Kimi ni Todoke), and have the same appereance of Taiga (from Torodora) and in terms of height Yuushin and her are the opposite of Risa and Atsushi (from Lovely Complex). The story of Hiyoko iis similiar to these 3 animes as well.

Hotarubi no Mori e is like the 2 episode version of Natsume Yuujinhou. Even the main characters Natsume and Jin are similiar. Also, musics, the athmosphere and animation styles are alike. I loved Hotarui no Mori e more than Natsume because there was a romantic story in it. I wish it could become longer.

Supernatural incidents and creatures exist & the main character can see those creatures in both animes. Characters are more diverse, interesting and funny in xxxHolic. Natsume Yuujinchou is a bit more slowly paced anime.

In both of the animes, they play games (Mahjong in Saki & Karuta in Chihayafuru) to win the nationals. Themes such as friendship, dreams, teamwork are elaborated. However, Saki is more on the side of comedy (despite the serious moments), whereas Chihayafuru represents "slice of life" anime genre presenting a better character development, story & drawings.

In both animes, there is Sadako-like main character who is eccentric and unsocial. We witness their character development as they try to socialize and make friends. But, while Kimi Ni Todoke is a romance anime, The Wallflower is on the comedy side.

In both animes, the main character (a man) looks after a cute little girl. Background of the girls are complex in both. Furthermore, both animes reflect a warm and calm atmosphere.
