"heartfelt anime but not super lighthearted"

To Your Eternity brings slice of life, action, fantasy, and existentialism all into one show. While the animation is not as good in its second half of the first season, the story explores different genres and ideas throughout its course. What's most interesting to me is not just how it explores different genres, but how it really is a set of stories that express the aspirations, struggles, and experiences of people in humanity's course throughout the years as seen through the lens of a single person. In this sense, To Your Eternity is a story of both the "little picture" ...

"A Masterpiece"

I highly recommend FMA Brotherhood and the FMA manga itself for all those interested in anime/manga. The original, older FMA anime diverting from the manga can be an interesting watch if you are not too passionate about how it follows the manga plot to a T. To me, FMA Brotherhood is more an action drama with some comedic relief sprinkled than it is a lighthearted anime. It brings the action with plots of both triumph and regret/sorrow on both "hero" and "villain" ends, nice animation for its time and generally speaking, and the anime can make you think about themes of militarization, politics, nationalism, ...

"Not sure what the audience is but fun to watch"

So this anime is definitely a more unique one in the last few years in my opinion, it is one of those where the audience honestly is really unclear to me. With that said, that's what makes this anime fun to watch. Legit, the synopsis really is the anime, so you can expect the musical, zombie, slice of life elements described. Watching this idk if it was made for kids, or thirteen year old girls, or adults, but I think you can get a kick out of it at whatever age and identity you are--if you ...

"Honestly a Masterpiece IMO"

I watched this anime to its latest point and read all the manga, and I can honestly say it's amazing and popular for a reason. Plot, animation, and characters are extremely well conceptualized and complimentary. As a shonen manga and anime, it is very well thought out, written, and animated with a clear storyline and interesting characters. It is not so simple that it becomes predictable and boring, but not too convoluted where you are super confused what's happening. Story progression is consistently captivating, character development is not super extreme relative to the story progression, and the clarity and the quality of ...

Preliminary (6/24 eps)
Spoiler
I'd rate this anime closer to a 6.5-7 at most, although I have not read the manga! If you've seen some other popular sports animes of the past few years, then this one--as other reviews have mentioned--spins a twist. To me, the anime's focus is on what it looks like and means for a soccer player to maximize the sport's technical skills in the spirit of competition and industry--which explores an interesting gray area some other sports animes do not necessarily prioritize in the same way. Blue Lock emphasizes the psychological aspects of professional soccer more than anything else in my opinion, while connecting it ...
