(This is a non in depth review)
Dragon Ball, where do I even start? The most iconic and influential Anime/Manga series of all time. Goku's journey to find the dragon balls, 7 magical balls that when you bring them together summons a dragon to grant you any wish!
Story
A lot of people seem to hate on the Dragon Ball franchise for having bad pacing and having a weak story. I however couldn't disagree more.
I might be biased since it was the first anime that I watched and have plenty of nostalgia for it. But there is honestly not a single bad episode of Dragon Ball, even the
...
fillers are great. The story is kind of meh to be honest, but just because it isn't as intricate as a One Piece or a Hunter X Hunter doesn't mean that it's bad. Sometimes simple is better. Story 7/10
Characters
The characters are unique and enjoyable. My favourites are Krillin, Master Roshi, and Yamcha. Unlike other series such as Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball characters (for the most part) don't have 1 personality trait. Krillin is the perfect rival for Goku and a funny character to see interact with him. Them training together was incredibly funny and creative.
I kind of see Yamcha as the early Vegeta. The cool anti-villian. He was weak of course but still, he was Goku's first rival and first actual antagonist. Master Roshi.... well...... I'm not going to get in to detail about his personality. Characters 9/10
Art
The animation is obviously really old and not very complex considering it came out in 1986, but the character designs are still good. The choreography during the fights is astounding! The best examples of this is (Kid Goku vs Tenshinhan, Yamcha vs Tenshinhan, Goku vs Jackie Chun, Goku vs Piccolo Jr etc. Art 8/10
Sound
If you are watching the Japanese Dub of Dragon Ball the Audio will be absolutely horrendous, but I watched the Eng Dub of Dragon Ball so the audio was decent. The voice acting was great. Especially for Master Roshi and Yamcha. The OST was AMAZING. Kikuchi (rip) really knew what he was doing when he made this. Sound 8/10
Enjoyment
It doesn't matter how many times I watch it, how many times I read it, it will always be a perfect show for me. Enjoyment 10/10
