Hey, welcome to my profile! I mainly read manhwa. Occasionally, I watch an anime or read a manga.
The general outline of my ratings:
9-10: highly enjoyable for me
8: enjoyable, but wouldn't rewatch or reread (for a long while)
7: nice, but wouldn't hold my attention for a long time
5-6: boring, I likely took long breaks before finishing it
1-4: bad, genuinely disliked it
The main things I base my rating on are whether it was enjoyable and whether it can hold my attention.
Animation, the quality of art and characters are really important to me and are what make most of the stories I follow enjoyable. Were there scenes or panels that captivated me and left me admiring the details for minutes? Are there characters or places that I love so much that I'd draw art of them or write and read alternative stories for? Would I spend hours thinking about the symbolism of transitory scenes, clothes or dialogue?
World-building, the story and ingenuity are also important. Even the most beautiful characters and world will need context. I don't have a preference in terms of genre. What I do like in the stories I consume is unpredictability, action and comedy. Sometimes I can forgive repetitiveness, but in general I don't like stories that are cliché or overdone. Did the story prompt me to search and share my theories about upcoming chapters? Are there interesting aspects or possibilities that could lead to drastically different endings? Or does the story feel stagnant and like there's no use in continuing it?
Of course, even if I get surprised by a plot twist, another person could've seen it coming from miles away. And panels that made me laugh out loud could've left someone else groaning. My ratings are by no means objective, so if you're curious about why I gave a certain one, feel free to ask! I'll try writing reviews for the stories I've finished when I can find time

Three different anime were the events of each run parallel to each other, with some characters appearing in more than just one, and also having crossover events.
A Certain Magical Index
A Certain Scientific Railgun
A Certain Scientific Accelerator
I watched them in chronological order. Jumping between anime. It was a major pain in the butt, but I enjoy it. No matter how you watch it you are going to need to look up some kind of watch order list.
I will look for more romance stuff, but the stuff I sent are my favorites. I feel that they all will meet your criteria. For me a romance anime is all about character growth, but I also agree with everything you said.
I’ve never heard the term manhwas before, but I like what it means. To me a strong female lead is very important, but strength can mean many different things for a female in a story. To me it means that regardless of her personality she isn’t over shadowed by her male counterpart, but the guy can’t be a pushover either.
I prefer the female characters, if they are poorly written they come off a weak. If the male doesn’t counter balance well the story suffers.
I think I’ve lost what I was trying to say.
After you watch Titan, if you tell me the story for Saga is as good, I’ll watch it.
I believe my favorite romantic anime is Chobits, but it has a large humanitarian/psychological ramifications component to it also. The deeper meaning of the anime is what did it for me.
I like well written generic romantic anime, but I need a twist for it to make my favorites.
Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!
Fruits Basket
Tomo-chan Is a Girl!
Full Metal Panic!
My Clueless First Friend (this one has the first male character that almost made my favorites)
These are all romantic anime that have characters or concepts I really liked..
I actually had an enlightened masters about 14 years ago. (2008) She was the one that decided that I was, from that point on a monk. I was her student till 2010. It was agreed that I was meant to study on my own at that point.
I’m not picky on what or where the source of my next lesson comes from. I share what I’ve learned on twitter, but I have written two books that I published on Amazon. I’m primarily a seeker of the true nature of reality, and I’ve been willing to look under every rock in the world to find it for about 40 years. From what I’ve learned and experiences up to this point I’ve come to the opinion that everything we think this reality is is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s amazing what you can see if you can accept that there is more out there than you can ever know.

I realize after I sent the message about Violet Evergarden that I had forgotten that it was your watched folder that made me interested in checking it out. Thanks 😊
I’ve looked to see if Vinland Saga would be something I’m interested in, but when I see gore in the description I tend to pass unless it has something else that I’m interested in like the time travel in Tokyo Revengers. I like some fantastical elements in stories most of the time, but with your recommendation and it’s high ranking it will go on my strong maybe stack.
It sounds like you might not want any of my favorite romantic anime recommendations, but the thing I like most about anime is there is something for everyone, and the thing I like most about this world is no one has exactly the same tastes.
Blood Blockade Battlefront
It’s a gate to another world anime, in a Gotham/steampunkish city, with a 1940s style superhuman agency fighting bizarre aliens from the other side of the gate.. It has a kind of FLCL or Gurren Lagann feel to it. It fills pretty much all my qualifications for an enjoyable story. I just started the second season.
Also a movie on Crunchyroll you might like called Suzume.
I want to see this reality though as many perspectives as I possibly can, and I feel I have a better understanding of what drives some people to violence now, and that some violent people still have good in them.
In my learnings as a monk I’ve found that negative outcomes are often more transformative than successful outcomes. Severe trauma can end up being something that keeps you alive in the future. I like the saying, What does not kill you makes you stronger. But I’ve found
I love great art. I’ve been into comic books my entire life, and I’m writing my own. (Still looking for an artist.) my favorite artists are Arthur Adams and Steve Ditko.
bad art dose bug me when I’m watching an anime. I just finished season 1 and 2 of an anime called The Duke of Death and His Maid on Crunchyroll. I loved the story, but the art was that computer animation were their arms and legs look unnaturally lanky, and the characters have minimal facial expressions. I don’t understand why they are still using that style in Japan. Computer animation has far improved since that was used in the US. Could not stop seeing it all the way though.
Yes I have a social anxiety disorder from childhood PTSD. I had no problem empathizing with her. It has made my life difficult, but I’m always working on overcoming it. 5 years ago I couldn’t have had this conversation with you. I’ve found that I can use my talent for writing to communicate with people online. It gives me time to articulate my responses, and be more active in a conversation.
