Ignore the hate. It’s a solid movie. Great art, great sound, feel good storyline and most importantly great characters. People are trying to find “logical” flaws everywhere but forget to realize this is a work of fiction and it should be enjoyed as such. Kick back, relax and enjoy :)
The story was not predictable. Art style was beautiful, and loved the detail in minor things. Sound design was also awesome.
I seriously think you all will enjoy it as long as watch it for what it is and not what it isn’t. If you want something scientifically accurate watch a documentary or National Geographic.

I recently came across this anime, and honestly, it’s a 10/10 for me. It may be slow for some, but not everything needs to be an action packed shonen. I am deeply drawn to narratives that explore the intricacies of the human condition and seek to answer the profound question of existence itself. This work strikes a masterful balance between character development, action, comedy, love, depression, anxiety, and drama, making it a truly immersive and engaging experience. Furthermore, the relatability of the characters elevates the story to new heights of emotional resonance. Planetes was Makoto Yukimura’s first work, the same author of Vinland Saga.
