review from my tumblr (contains spoilers):
Sk8 the infinity was a lighthearted and entertaining anime. a good series to watch if you wanted to take a break from shonen anime. Some of the skating in the show is exaggerated but that's what made it entertaining, in my opinion.
The characters were funny, relatable and you easily grew attached to them.
However, the show had a lot of flaws that were difficult to ignore:
1) they had a ped0philic character who inappropriately touched a teenager, had several television screen stalking the boy, calls him his eve and no one bats an eye at the adult man? this kind of
...
character should honestly just die out because nothing about it is funny or adds to the fuel of fanservice. it's creepy and bothersome.
2) at the end of the series, they had langa (the teenager who was touched by an adult man who kept moaning his name all the time) be nice to a ped0phile and teach him how to have fun again. showing him a brief display of kindness and toleration towards the man and everyone is okay with it?
3) adam (the ped0phile) isn’t punished for any of his crimes and the one person who had been working very hard from the first episode to see this man behind bars is transferred to another city stopped her from investigating adam. it wasn't said but the message felt like as if the officer who was investing adam was some villain who is ruining an “innocent” man’s life and she must be stopped. the ended the series with adam being the whacky uncle they all love and hate which was ridiculous.
4) the fact that tadashi smiled and blushed when adam called him his dog and will have him on a leash for the rest of their lives is very toxic and sends the wrong message to the viewers watching the show.
5) a lot of the characters never bothered to understand reki (the mc) on an emotional level and how he was distraught over adam’s abuse and how it traumatized him, how he lost confidence in himself and was depressed. i feel like the characters lowkey blamed him for being “weak/talentless” except for his manager who actually gave him some useful advise and talked him out of skating against adam. there were a few characters that tried to talk reki out of competing against adam, like miya did, but he was also making fun of him most of the time. and yes langa asked if reki was okay skating against adam but when his best friend grew distant and was emotionally detached, langa never really asked reki how he was truly feeling.
6) the lack of female skaters and only having them as fangirls to boost men's egos? like yeah cherry and adam are hot, i agree, but there are a lot of women who are into skating and are good at it. i'm not asking for a major role but there wasn't even one woman who had a skate board in her hand in the background. it was predominantly male.

This is going to be a very honest review of the anime series and MIGHT contain spoilers.
I tried watching Vinland Saga a couple of months ago but dropped it halfway through episode 2 because I wasn't in the mood so I wasn't really paying any attention to it.
The other night, after constantly seeing pictures and moodboards of the series on twitter, I finally decided to give it another chance and I'm SO glad I did!!
Story:
The story starts off slow, which may not be ideal for people but it will get picked up around ep 3 or 4 and THAT'S when things starts getting VERY interesting
...
and addictive. Yes, it's about vikings but it also approaches a different take. 'How would things turn out if the Vikings won against England?' is the plot summary of the prologue arc. It also focuses on its characters and their backstories which I honestly loved because I don't want to watch several episodes where the flow is disrupted because of flashbacks. Explaining who the characters were and why they were the way they were was brilliant!
Art:
The artwork was stunningly beautiful. I had to pause and rewind a couple of times just to take in the beauty of the background. The attention to detail was exquisite. Everything about the artwork was just breathtaking and I had the strong urge to either live in that anime world or pick up my coloring tools and draw. Which is funny because I don't know how to draw!
Sound:
You honestly cannot ignore the soundtrack in the anime because it perfectly fits each key plot point of the series and you can tell how the soundtrack connects with the characters or the events. I just listened to all of the ost and it had a mix of GOT and LOTR vibes and it was heavenly. A lot of piano work which I greatly appreciated and enjoyed.
Character (SPOILERS):
Vinland Saga has so many interesting and complex characters that it’s a bit difficult to pick a favorite. Though, I have to say that I strongly got attached to Thors and Askeladd.
Thors was just so amazing and pure and he just wanted to end wars and live a happy and peaceful life.
Askeladd, I'm not sure where to begin with Askeladd. I can’t really call him a villain, especially after learning about his backstory, but he did things that are morally wrong (r*ping and k*lling women) that I can’t overlook. But his character was just so complex. I couldn’t predict anything while watching the series and i was often impressed and amazed by his intelligence. He was smart, cunning, witty, assertive, calculating and strong. He had a very important role to the plot and legit became the mc of the series so you must understand how frustrated I felt when they killed him off!!
I'm trying to picture s2 without him and I honestly can’t. Askeladd literally constructed 90% of the plans/plots in the series and was the greatest of all time. I know why they had to kill him but still I don't know why they had to do it! Why kill such an interesting character like Askeladd??? I was looking forward to seeing Askeladd, Thorkell, Thorfinn and Canute work together as a team and assassinate the king, imagine my disappointment at the end of the series though.
Enjoyment:
The enjoyment level of Vinland Saga was on the same level as Attack on Titan and Death Note. I wasn't bored at all. I had a lot of fun watching it and now I feel depressed that I finished it. Literally thinking about rewatching it even though I finished it last night.
Overall:
A beautifully entertaining anime series that is very underrated. It's as epic as AOT and DE, has beautiful and stunning artwork and, finally, has the same sense of adventure as OP.
I STRONGLY recommend everyone who is reading this to watch Vinland Saga. You WONT be disappointed.

I'm not into sports anime, let alone actual sports, but I have to see that this anime was beyond my expectations.
I have to say that the main reason I decided to give Haikyuu a chance was because most of my favorite seiyuus were on it. Then came the memes on twitter that haunted me 24/7 so I decided that enough was enough.
The anime was hilariously funny to the point where my family would come into my room and ask me why I was laughing so loudly. Their facial expressions, their little songs here and there and just the overall comedic timing was phenomenal.
As I said,
...
I'm not into sports, but I was very engaged with some of the matches, especially with the last couple of episodes. I swear, my blood pressure was through the roof! Even if you weren't into sports, the anime made it simple for anyone to understand the concept of volleyball. Maybe that was why it was so captivating for me since everything was so new but it was just so damn good.
I definitely recommend this anime who wants a good laugh or is a fan of volleyball.

i'm giving this anime a 9 out of 10 because of s1b being non manga canon.
Here's my review (warning for spoiler(s)):
Kuroshitsuji is that one anime that i can never get tired of rewatching because i have yet to find any anime that is similar to it. It checks off all of the things that i like in an anime and i always recommend it to my friends who are new to anime or haven't heard of this series because it's that good.
Stroy:
the story may appear simple but it is very entertaining. you have a 12 year old boy with a demonic butler working
...
for the queen of england to rid of the country from heinous criminals. sounds basic but, once you watch the other anime (book of circus, book of murder and book of Atlantis) it becomes much more complex and a lot of the characters' backstories are revealed. i recommend that you don't watch anything past ep 15 and s2 since they aren't manga canon but it's worth a watch if you enjoyed the anime a lot like i have.
another thing that i like about the story is that it's not horror based so it's easy to watch if you're scared of horror or just isn't a fan of that genre in general. though, be ready for a lot of philosophical elements in the first season and in its later adaptation.
Art:
My favorite thing about kuroshitsuji is the artwork. i'm not familiar with art or animation but the artwork in this anime is just so aesthetically pleasing for me. it has that nice balance of grimy/gothic and pretty/elegant elements in it. the attention to detail is impeccable and the color study is just so wonderful. i think my favorite artwork/animation in the entirety of s1 are eps 4, 5 & 6. the artwork is the main reason i rewatch the anime.
Sound:
the opening for kuroshitsuji is one of my favorite anime openings, i often find myself humming the ost randomly throughout the day. it also has a very good soundtrack, especially in book of circus. i would recommend playing the soundtracks during halloween to set in the mood.
Character:
it's very typical for main male characters to have tragic backstories and seek revenge for the hardship they went in the past but with Ciel, he doesn't shout it every two minutes. he doesn't follow the typical formula and has a different approach to the situation.
i would like to say that sebastian is a very complex character. (SPOILER) in the beginning, sebastian is "loyal" (for a lack of better word) to Ciel so that he can have his soul once Ciel dies. however, as the plot progress, you can see that his motivations start to change. he becomes a bit on the grey side when it comes to loyalty and devotion to ciel that you become invested and interested in his character.
all the other side characters are pretty lovable and can kickass, you won't easily lose interest in them at all.
Enjoyment:
like i said, i always rewatch this anime from time to time so you can say it's pretty enjoyable. i'd give it a solid 10 out of 10.
Overall:
9 out of 10. good plot, breathtaking artwork, wonderful characters, great soundtrack and very entertaining. would definitely recommend.

after watching the anime, i had the strong desire to read the manga.
Akatsuki no yona was my first managa i've ever read and i'm honestly so in love with it.
The author's way of story telling is very captivating that you can't help but stay up late reading the manga hoping that the chapters wouldn't end.
The plot is not your typical damsal in distress princess who relies on those around her but she ends up growing stronger and more dependent on herself in order to achieve her right to freedom.
The romance in the story is refreshing as it occurs naturally and you can see a strong
...
between two friends flourish into a romantic one. their love and care for each other leaves readers wanting more!
And the substories suits the main plot perfectly. They're all connected in a way and ties up all the characters and events amicably. They're just as captivating and entertaining as the main plot.
The characters in Akatsuki no Yona all diverse in personalities and it is easy to pick a favorite but due to their wonderful personalities and admirable bond, one can't help but to like all of the characters.
I think that Akatsuki no Yona had one of the best character developments i've ever read with Taejun. (spoilers) Going from a selfish man who was blindly in love with Yona to a man who cared about his kingdom and helped the poor survive and revive their crops was admirable.
And i just LOVE the female friendship in the manga? Even if they were enemies they were still civil with each other and you don't really see that that often. There are no women being pit against each other and there are no unnecessary jealousy or petty behavior.
I strongly recommend Akatsuki no Yona for new manga readers, like me, and for those who are a fan of historical drama and strong female leads.

this anime is a GODSEND! i've watched it so many times i've lost count!! it's such a cute and peaceful anime that i can't help watching whenever i'm feeling depressed or anxious. it just takes my mind off of things and the plot doesn't drag on for long or make you lose interest.
also, i love babies A LOT so maybe that's why i'm addicted to the anime? it's just so funny and lighthearted and such a nice change from action/romance/horror anime and i wish it was more popular because we NEED a season 2 already!
very enjoyable, highly recommend it!
