Both mcs narrate with their own monologues the world where they live in, in very a detached way, they try to go against the narrative but sometimes they fail(?) And they can be quite the unreliable narrators Also, they are funny

How to Use a Returner
|
I'd say How to use a returner is like the darker version of TGED, the mc are similar, manipulative and cunning but i think Giyoung is way more machiavellian, while Lloyd is more tamed in that aspect Giyoung really lives by the "the end justifies the means" maxim even if his actions are truly atrocious, also the mcs are unreliable narrators that are somehow(?) lovable

Besides the similar setting and the amazing world building, both MC's use their knowledge from their previous lives to create different identities based on literature figures(?) The difference is that we accompany Klein while he creates them and acts them, and with [REDACTED] we are unmasking identity by identity

About Desire
|
Both are college love stories but the main reason for this recommendation is that both Jung and Sunjin are really similar in the way they are both cunning and mildly manipulative (this is specially true for Jung). They just have the same vibe, and i think both stories are really good at fleshing out the characters

Mysterious shops with mysterious owners. Supernatural events keep occurring while we are shown the somehow ugly reality of humans and there are also heartwarming stories. Some say that Yuuko and Count D are really similar but i would say he has more in common with Watanuki, besides the heterochromia and the slaying fashion, they both have a male sidekick with whom they have funny interactions
