GSNK and OHSHC are episodic animes that consist of people living their daily lives at a bizarre but interesting school environment (and outside the school as well). The way I like to describe the two is "dramatic characters in a semi-realistic environment". Both are about the daily interactions of classmates. In one, the main characters are part of the school's host club, while in the other, the characters are part of a "group of students who help in manga work". Both animes are classified as rom-coms, although the "romance" part isn't as pronounced as the "comedy" part. They are both lighthearted and fun to watch. The main characters, Haruhi in one and Sakura in the other, both stumble upon their respective "groups" by chance. Furthermore, you may find Tamaki's personality is very similar to Mikorin. The focal points of these animes don't always stay on the main character: you get to meet many other characters and see their interactions as well.
