I feel like I can see a big parallel between Re: Zero and Attack on Titan. When Aot first aired, its first season had many hype moments and was very action-packed, it moved at a fast pace. Additionally, Re: Zero's 1st season moved quite fast, in terms of plot and hype, a lot happened in just 25 episodes. The 2nd season of aot received less of a reception from the anime community rather than the

1st season since it was less "hype," however I think it was better due to the amazing worldbuilding it had. Similarly, Re: Zero's 2nd season is a lot slower compared to the 1st season, but its worldbuilding is absolutely phenomenal. I can understand why some people just want to leave the sanctuary arc, it's the longest arc in the whole series, however this section has really built up the character's foundations really well and we can understand their motives and behaviors a lot more.
If you think about it, especially from light novel/web novel reader points of view, the set up for Re: Zero and Attack on Titan is very similar. 1st season is very hype, 2nd season much slower, picks up back in season 3 and then the best bit is in season 4. Arc 6 (season 4) is considered peak re: zero and season 3 (arc 5) has a lot more action and is very fast-paced.
