Both share: normal main character (not a reference to their quality, rather their societal status), shift from reality to a spiritual realm, main characters who help spirits, and main characters that learn real-world moral lessons from their adventures in the spiritual realm. Main differences include: Spirited Away is a feature length hand drawn Ghibli film, Possessions is a 3D animated short film, Spirited Away focuses on a young girl with a larger cast of spirits, while Possessions focuses on an older man alone. Regardless, both are delightful stories that can be enjoyed by the young for their imaginative visuals, and by the old for having moral lessons adults can more fully appreciate in retrospect.

Samurai Flamenco
add

Both share: cute characters, ordinary beginnings that create a false sense of comfort, decent action, (sometimes) deep introspection of key characters, twisted themes, unexpected tone shifts, and a more-or-less successful deconstruction of their original genres. Both Madoka and Samurai Flamenco are decent deconstructions of the magical-girl and super-hero genres respectively, but Madoka is much more focused and consistent in it's analysis of narrative/character tropes. Flamenco (unexpectedly) goes fairly deep into some of it's key cast members, even more so than Madoka at times, but the constant shift in character responses/genre/themes made Flamenco's narrative far less believable and effective than it could have been, in which case Madoka is certainly the superior of the two. But don't write either off, give them both a try.
