Btoom! may have taken some ideas from Battle Royale in the sense that it's about a few people being transported into an island where the contestants have to kill each other to survive, however it is slightly different becaus the rules set are the same as those found in the popular online game Btoom.
Personally, I don't think it's a rip-off of Battle Royale because it is quite different. Battle Royale is still greater because it is more emotional and it is not ecchi, however Btoom! is a decent manga and deals pretty well with the problems dealt with the characters. Characterization is good so far,

Having felt curious because of a new manga series that got translated online, I started reading Billy Bat and realised how amazing it was. It was indeed very confusing at first because I thought it would be an Americanized comic about a detective, however I realised it was so much more.
Urusawa has definitely put a lot of work into this manga due to the fact that it has a lot of significant historical references such as the birth of Jesus and the assassination of J.F. Kennedy. What I love the most is that it deals so much with racial discrimination and an actual insight of the ... Apr 19, 2010
Gokkun! Pucho
(Manga)
add
I think Gokkun! Pucho is one of the most underrated shoujo series out there because it is very good and different from other shoujos I read. This one focuses a lot on how it is NOT easy to make someone fall in love with you. Just because you try doesn't mean that it'll be an easy road. I'm amazed by how persistent Mayu is in pursuing the person whom he likes (and has rejected her once). I can kind of relate myself to her. I really like Mayu and her mature attitude despite all the hardship that she has to go through. I also like

Penguin☆Brothers

I gave it a 8 as it is very enjoyable and emotional that I cried a lot when I read this, but I can't give it a 10 because it has everything that any other shoujo manga has. A girl who's lucky enough to get so many guys to like her because she's strong and is willing to make a difference. I still personally think that this manga is very underrated because it's one of the darker shoujo mangas that deserve more attention from the public.

Kitchen no Ohimesama
(Manga)
add
Another typical shoujo manga which I don't think deserve #250 in the manga list because it is extremely predictable and there is nothing unique about the story that can make you not forget about it and want to read it over and over again. It is basically about an orphan from Hokkaido who goes to Tokyo to find his Flan Price as he was the one who gave her strength when she was down (in Hokkaido when she was younger). So basically it's a journey of love and cooking, which is very typical. It's worth the time to read, but it's not worth the money

Mamotte! Lollipop
(Manga)
add
Mamotte! Lolipop is a typical shoujo manga where a girl gets two hot guys to love her. I personally don't think it deserves the rank it is in now, because it is extremely predictable. However, if you want to have a few laughs, say "aww" out loud for the mushy love scenes, and cute artwork, go for it.

Liar Game was pretty famous and I thought I'd try this manga. I thought I'd get bored, but after I started reading it I was extremely immersed in it. Despite the fact that the art may be average, the story is mind-blowing. I like the way that the author shows human greed and how people trick each other for themselves. It's something that almost all mangas don't show. The game that the author came up with is also very original and amazing - about how people have to lie to each other to obtain profit. Liar Game is a true psychological masterpiece that anyone should

IS: Otoko demo Onna demo Nai Sei

Intersexuality is one of the mangas that really made me cry, regardless of which chapter I'm reading. It is truly emotional and it shows how people who are different have to survive in a society that forces you to conform. I love the storyline which is very different from other mangas and the impact that the manga gives to the readers is just amazing. It also gives the readers more awareness of intersex people, who are neglected by society and never get the chance to voice how they feel.

I really feel that Black Cat is one of the best mangas I've seen. I don't think the plot is cliched, and even if it is, I really love all the characters in the manga. They're all very well-made and each has a great story to tell. I enjoy every single volume of Black Cat that teaches me a lot of things. It's also interesting because the guy turned from bad to good and the manga shows us about how his renewed mindset and how another person could transform him tremendously.

I truly enjoyed reading this manga because unlike a lot of shoujos, it shows the darker side of human nature but still with the typical shoujo-like storyline of a stubborn and friendly girl who appreciates her friends more than anything. It's a funny and emotional manga and I love it because it shows how eternal friendship is.
