Story: The story starts very strong and dramatic but after a few episodes it settles in into a normal shounen anime and it becomes a bit repetitive and boring
The main character is a 14 year old boy that is lazy and a delinquent but has a good heart. We observe how he grows up and gets stronger. But so far I have not seen a lot of character development. loves her and she loves him, there is not a lot of romance but the bits you see are quite nice and refreshing. 6/10
Art: Nice 90s aesthetics and handdrawn, I like it a lot. Its fitting for a shounen anime with a mix of seriousness, comedy and friendship. 7/10
Sound: Opening is really nice and I added it to my playlist 8/10
Characters: What I like about the characters that they all seem very energetic and not so emotional dead and sterile. On their own they can seem a bit boring but still likeable, and predictable but their interactions with each other is very nice to observe, unfortunately you dont see a lot of it because most of the time our hero spends his time with talking to forgettable villains. 6/10
Enjoyment: I watch 2-3 episodes then get bored of it and continue watching it feels forced, but after some break I come back to it but I have to admit it is partly because I have already started it and feel I have to finish it, feels somewhat like a chore at times. I might drop it soon because it has over 100 episodes but that does not mean I didnt enjoy it, there are some good parts. But so far I havent dropped it yet. 7/10
In my opinion it is an anime that is good to know about and you will not regret expanding your anime knowledge watching this classic. Especially the first episodes are remarkable and I wont forget them, for the first 3-4 episodes I would give a ten, however...

The story is trash
The characters are trash
The opening is kinda good
And the girls look cute, but the ecchi is not even enough to satisfy my horny because like I said their character is trash
The comedy-aspects are not even funny
However you could get a glimpse how is it like to be a single loser, so a plus point is maybe that the anime is accurate showing how pathetic and boring people can be.

harem and how he gets revenge on his ex girlfriend but its not at all the case, he rents a girlfriiend and he just becomes more pathetic.
The rented girlfriend is all business and not at all sweet and mushy, in fact it seems like all girls there are evil and just try to exploit weak losers.
His friends are no better than him, running after every women and being annoyingly forward and obnoxious.

Gave this anime a try because it was so popular,
I actually just finished watching it in one go. It was a very satisfying anime and I will give it a 9/10 because while the quality was always awesome there was not really a memorable scene for me that you could watch over and over again which you are maybe familiar with if you watch action anime, or some very funny comedy scene and this is what this anime makes an unique experience form me.

What I really liked is that this anime was accurate in many regards, the awkward situation of being rejected by your crush and then seeing her later again in school, the coping mechanism like binge eating when you feel depressed. There was also nothing stupid like a harem. What I liked about the romance aspect is how nervosity and the tension was potrayed, just because you are alone with your crush it does not mean that something necessary will happen.
While I admit there might be some slow episodes and also some clishee anime moments it was still very enjoyable and they also have a reason and make this anime work.

Story was okay, another highschool anime you know where people have to kill each other, the villain was however quite dumb and just "pure evil", and also the other charachters especially the progaonist where quite dull and nothing special.
Each charachter had some kind of speciality but you didnt see any of that.
The girls were quite cute looking, but the men were just dumb and uninteresting.
The OP and the ED was garbage and I always skipped it, also I dont remember the other sounds.
All in all the first few episodes were quite enjoyable but as the story progresses it gets harder to follow, so if

I could still manage to finish it before I completely lost interest therefore a 6/10

I only watch anime that is relatively entertaining so in case of a 6/10 or 5/10 I would not even watch more than a couple episodes
A 4/10 or lower is already clear from thumbnail and after a minute
The reason why it is a 5/10 is because it is funny but it is also boring and it is just not very engaging, there are also no cute girls that help you cope with loneliness
But I think I also might be harsh since I only watch really good animes which are very rare

The opening is also not very good, but the gags are unique and absurd.
But if you watch anime it is easy to empathize with the main charachter but in real life you would also be just a npc who gets casually humiliated by Sakamoto.
Thats why I dont get why does Sakamoto try to be "good" and please everybody? His motives and personality are just a mystery which makes him look stupid. He just does the right and moral things because it is easy for him, because he was born intelligent, because he received an education that taught him those morals. He is of course also very tall and has a good body, what I want to say is that Sakamoto is not a teamplayer or a good leader. He has no ambitions and no goals, he is just a golden marble that runs down the hall and dazzles everyone.
It is a really stupid anime but it also shows the bad aspects of the japanese society that you just blindly follow the rules, folllow the protocol and strive to be a model personality that helps everyone else.
What is so interesting about a man that has no problems and is just superior in every regard? It is insulting and a mockery of us normal limited peasants. We are nothing but a joke to guys like Sakamoto, we dont even exist in his eyes.
People like Sakamoto really exist and just like Sakamoto they only do what benefits them, they have no humility or shame or consciousness about the power they possess. They are overpowered spoiled princes who just laugh at life and never have to take anything seriously.
Of course to superficial people with selfish desires somebody like that is very desirable, thats why they come and cheer on sakamoto to get something of his halo. But it is just a hedonistic empty craving and it wont change their pathetic lifes even if they could get a hold of some of his halo.
All in all the maincharachter is one dimensional and boring and thats also the reason why it is so funny sometimes, because everything is so overly simplistic that it creates it own kind of ridiculousness.
And in a way you also could say that the depth you usually see in some animes is also just artificial and exaggerated and in real life you also only encounter simplistic people like it is shown here in the anime which would mean that Sakamoto is a rather realistic anime, after all it is categorized as a Seinen.
But to be honest if I watch anime I want to find an escape about my pathetic life and not be reminded how people in real life effortlessly take the lead while others dont really exist and dont really live. And to get an escape but also to empathize with the main charachter you need some struggle and problems:
I get it, its Seinen and its supposed to be satirically and not eveybody is happy in the end. He does not have to overcome every problem like shown in Shonen.
It tried to be like One Punsh Man and I also didnt really like One Punsh Man storywise but it just shows the attitude that japanese young men have nowadays, carefree, oblivious and always "genki" which to me seems forced. But unlike One Punsh Man even the quality was only mediocre, one punsh man at least had some good visuals, more side charachters and somewhat of a story line and concept which this anime does not have.
