I did not know the 'drama' revolving around this story until after I read it. To me, not having such outside influences made this an enjoyable experience overall. So to me I ask you: Do you like a manga with a fantastic and interesting hook of a beginning, amazing character development and world building? Beautiful art and various twists and turns in the story and ecchi thrown in? Would you like a slice of life, some what echhi romance (with a blur of shōjo of shōnen) and various other genres crammed into it - that also goes beyond the high school part... far past it?
...
Then this is a story for you!
Characters (9/10):
The main male protagonist Natsuo is at first the typical shōnen male with those "positive" values such as friendship, loyalty, being nice to people, and grows/matures as people do when they go from teenager to adult. Hina, some describe her as a chomo (child molester) - while the beginning lives out the fantasy of student/teacher fantasy with her - she is a much more complex and wonderfully written female protagonist, and shows how true love and devotion in its purest form and is hard to define as to which dere type she is. Rui is the same age as Natsuo, and while she is at first kuudere and quite stoic grows into himedere in my opinion.
There are many side characters that are well developed with various subplots that could have been so interesting to explore such as Miu Ashihara, Hibiki Mikimoto, Momo Kashiwabara and Miyabi Serizawa. So much so that I thought these characters should be more explored. Like I always felt that Momo and Alex Matsukawa should have been a together. Additionally, I feel that plausibility of Miu and Reiji Kiriya is never realized and realistic, I feel that it should been concluded that Miu lost interest and moved on. As well I think that Miyabi it would have been a good to explore a more GL aspect with her friend Yuka Kusanagi. Nene Kuzuoka, Hibiki Mikimoto and Mao Kinashi would have been an interesting character to further explore and develop. As well the interesting characters Misaki Ogura and Yuri Umeda provided an interest plot twists and realistic downfall of people turning to questionable means to survive - it felt that these interesting characters were kind of forgotten about unfortunately.
Story (7/10)
Overall there are a lot of very serious issues explored - some, such as the main story plot the beginning with Hina/Natsuo explores the gravity of such a relationship quite well. Others are nothing but to add a twist and never shows us the consequences (Misaki Ogura and Yuri Umeda).
So as I wrote, I came into this manga not knowing about the 'drama' of the ending, having read the whole thing in 3 days, only finding out about the "trash" ending afterwards. So I did not like the ending either. But it's not because I felt that that two that end up together shouldn't have (because I did feel that these two should have) but the means in which it was done. I suppose that is everyone's complaint - spent a huge portion building up rebound girl only to pull that? It would have been so much better to have chapter 138 (Leaving The Nest) or at the latest chapter 216 (See You Again) be the start of the rekindling of Hina/Natsuo. Preferably the first. Then it would have been perfect.
Art(10/10)
The art is wonderful.
Overall (9/10)
I feel that the direction taken was starting at chapter 138 was not a good use of the overall goal of the story - a seemingly worst possible societal relationship that is completely immoral (incest and teacher/student) that is meant to show the power of pure and honest love between two individuals was thrown out. It should have been explored better instead of chapters 138 to 275 that were produced. That is the illogical part of the series, imo. That being said, it is a great story regardless of the meandering and lost of the main idea in those 137 chapters.

So I just finished reading Citrus and Citrus+, which I thought was extremely well drawn and although full of those stereotypical tropes that comes in the "young romance" genre in anime/manga, that it was an amazing story. However one of my complaints of Citrus was those said tropes - never going farther than a kiss and hugging - *spoiler* it's thrown out in this Bloom into You! YES! This is exactly an example of what I wish would happen in Citrus+. So I may have to revise that review...
story: 10/10
There is quite an interesting premise - Yuu is a first year student at high
...
school while her senpai, Nanami, bond over the fact that they can't feel love - which makes Nanami fall for Yuu. This then proceeds into what would be a slow burn of manipulation and coercion and somewhat resembling Stockholm syndrome. Quite a divergence from the typical plots - and skirting past typical manga/anime romance tropes like where the "underdog", Yuu, is desperately vying for "love at first sight" of Nanami. It's reversed - and Nanami comes in forcefully at first but Yuu actually holds her own rather than being a push-over. Very refreshing. However, it does explore the manipulation and greediness of lust - with Nanami constantly kissing and saying she loves Yuu - while demanding Yuu to not do the same - as she is afraid of a deep and meaningful relationship. But as with any worth while relationship - people grow, change and become better people. And this story delivers on that end perfectly as well. Lastly, they consummate their love for one another! I was not expecting it and that sold it to me on how great of manga this is. Interesting plot, setting aside tropes, actually having the two mains f&ck! GREAT!
art: 8/10
The art is good and will hold up, but it's not amazing (as in Citrus).
characters: 9/10
The characters particularly Nanami, can be very contradictory. This reflects how people really are - so its quite accurate with relationships. Furthermore, the characters grow change over time - it's quite good at capturing that first time experience. And due to this change it teaches about how things change both in people and in surroundings - but finding the person that is going to help you and them change into a better person is what really matters.
enjoyment: 9/10
I thoroughly enjoyed this manga and couldn't stop reading it. I read the whole thing in a few hours. The last few chapters in particular were very good - as this leads the climax and one chapter resolution with the students having finished high school and in college. It’s a cool twist on romance novels, but still cute and happy.
overall:
If you are looking for something that goes against the grain (somewhat) of GL/high-school romance manga/anime, this is a good pick

So this is one of those stories that shows what happens after the denouement of Citrus. While some may decry this kind of thing , it's a refreshing take on what happens after, like Clannad: After Story. I tried to be vague as to avoid spoiling too much.
Story: 8/10
While I understand that this is a shōjo, and has the typical never going farther than a kiss and hugging, it's a tiring of this trope and I appreciate Matsuri's candid and to the point mockery of this. While it's cute, it would be great to have them consummate their relationship even if not explicitly drawn. ...
...
However, the most recent addition to the story introduced a difference than this trope and expanded to a real life problem that couples have... what if a person from your partner's past comes back in their life and a relationship is rekindled, or better yet both partners? Other than that it's not been very different than Citrus, but has been showing more of the support characters and beyond just high school which is great. Additionally, it's been exploring the "what after high-school", that so often is very hard to figure out. What do you wanna do when graduate high-school and study in college?
art: 10/10
Art is wonderful, beautiful. I find myself just looking at it and appreciating how intricate all of the drawings are (a benefit of manga).
characters: 10/10
As I mentioned there is some more development of the side characters - two of which seems like they could have their own spin off- Matsuri and Harumi. I hope to see more of their development with this ongoing series.
enjoyment: 9/10
This manga is very enjoyable, but what would make it even better is again (imho) to let two f&ck and develop the other characters to have them explore and go through similar steps. I think if it somehow would ever get past that dead horse, it has potential to be better than the original. It’s a nice sweet, slow romance that just makes you happy (and perhaps reminds to be as sweet to your partner).
overall:
If you enjoyed the original story and "want more", then that's exactly what your gonna get - with some minor exploring of more adult themes beyond "getting the girl".

It's been over a year since I saw this anime, but I feel that it deserves a review as Higurashi no Naku Koro ni was the first anime that I watched. This was due to a Japanese friend telling me about this amazing story that she was reading. I then decided to try and find out about it, and thus watched the anime, and have done so ever since a little of a year ago now, and obviously if it got me to watch anime almost everyday and start learning Japanese, it's a really good story as my friend said.
Story: Perhaps because I had never
...
seen an anime I found the story unique. An alternative universe, a repeating June until finally being able to imprint a lasting memory and solve the mystery... it was such a fascinating tale, and the fact that it slowly became less about gore and into a soft and more meaningful story is something that I've realized is not often done. I recently saw "Another", and oh how hard did it try to make you scared, and all that ... it was sooooo lame when i was thinking of this story, in which the gore crazed school girls didn't last... I truly hope that there are more stories like this, if this gore genre must continue...
Art: Excellent, very well done.
Sound: I don't remember any stand out music, but it all flt the bill as i remember.
Characters: Some of the characters are somewhat lacking, but they are all quite likable and well written.
Enjoyment: It's one of the best anime's I've seen.
Overall I would highly recommend this anime to anyone looking for an excellent story, gore, substance good characters, and a mystery that will make you drop all your work and watch it till the end.

My first review ... so ...
I don't like to give away much, but assuming that you've watch the first, I will mention some aspects of that.
This is a continuation of the first season, the same characters (with a few new ones), same themes of first, ect. But this anime, unlike any other anime I've encountered tells what happens after the "boy gets girl" story and builds upon all of the themes to make this in my opinion a masterpiece of animation/film.
This anime is for a mature audience, in the concept of its themes, as it is about growing up, and the difficulties one faces.
...
I doubt most immature people will be able to understands its messages besides its a "slice of life". The themes are: fate/destiny (in that the choices one makes has many possible outcomes(, love (in the true and honest sense [there are no sex scenes which is a welcome]), life after (high) school (in that friends often go away), realization of what it means to be a man, a woman, a parent, a husband, a wife, in a very modern sense; after all "clannad" is Irish gaelic for "family", and the use of the "The Big Dango Family" song, a continuation from the first series, Clannad, can have many layers of interpretation: song brings people together, Dango being a type of (Japanese) food (which resembles the balls that are the Dango Family on sticks) brings people together; have you ever noticed that at home with your family, the few times you are all together is probably at the dinner table? The largest theme is that nothing remains the same, and life is continuously changing, including ourselves, for if not, nothing would survive (the alternative world with the girl and the robot).
Of the few things I felt that were lacking in this anime, is the songs, not very diverse, and that it seemed to be trying too hard to make you cry (on top of the almost overdrawn out drama ... but that is what also makes it more real, as life doesn't happen as quickly as it does in any type of "slice of life" entertainment).
I highly recommend this anime, but first you have to watch the first part, Clannad. I'll be hard pressed to find another anime that has left an actual impression on me as this one has (I wrote a review after all). The impression that I got from this, is that death is something that we all face, as well as drama, happiness and laughter (which all occur at times in the series) and no matter what pain may come, with family (either friends, parents and children or some other form of social bonds) one can prevail. The series reminded me of the themes of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of The Rings' and to add some quotes from that fantastic tale "Little by little, one travels far", "I will not say, do not weep, for not all tears are an evil" "It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule".
A wonderfully drawn anime overall, with a great message, and a generally fantastic development of characters, well written story. Watch it, and you may need a tissue-box close by!
