The story of Ann Cassandra is actually a very good concept. I haven't read anything too similar to it, so it was refreshing. My only qualm is that the story seemed to be rushed in volume 2. Maybe this was due to the fact that it had to be a specific length or something? But I would rated it high if it hadn't been so rushed.

The art isn't as clean as other works as far as artistry goes, but it it doesn't by any means detract from the actual story. In fact, I believe that with the artistic quality portrayed in the manga adds ... to the story. action scenes, to me at least, have to have a bit of grit to them which you get in Ann Cassandra.

The characters have more definition to them than most of the several chapter-length series I've read. For the length of the story the amount of detail given seems to be adequate.

Pick this manga to read if you want something short with a good plot.

For people who don't carefully look into the details that are laid out before you, this manga will be an utter annoyance for you. Some things (like the art) seem to be simpler, but details really are the key point in the manga. But there are many things this manga is lacking.

There are subtle clues as to what is going on in the plot and if you don't pay attention, you aren't going to get it until they really begin to explain whats going on. (Which they haven't really, they just elude to everything and seem to think [or hope] you'll get it.) The plot ... isn't very clear so far, but as the story progresses there should be a decent climax.

The black rider isn't given a real cool, elaborate costume. The characters' hair is done in that lumped-up 10 line bit instead of complex lines where you can see different layers where they should be, how the hair lines back for a ponytail, etc. The art may be simplistic as far as character design goes, but I think that for a story that has so much going on the art makes it a bit easier to understand. The clean lines make it easier for the story to develop via dialogue.

Many of the characters seem rather one-dimensional. Stalker girl just keeps going and going after Seiji, Izayu is crazy as sin, and our main man is just a normal high school student with dreams of something more. Hopefully as the story continues there will be more of an obvious growth for the character, but it doesn't look like it will happen any time soon.

Somehow I found myself pretty entertained by this, even though its flaws are very apparent. If you have time to kill and find yourself reading Durarara!!, be prepared to be left with a "WTF did I just read?!" feeling.

I found myself heavily critiquing this movie the whole way through. I enjoyed the plot, even though it was predictable. It kept me hooked enough to want to finish the movie.

My main issue was the fact that the characters involved seemed to be lacking substance. I feel like some of the characters were just thrown in there just because they've been in the series and not because they had any relevance to the chain of events in the story. Other characters just didn't have enough of a role for them to stick out in my mind. Granted the movie is about 01:40ish long, I ... think the characters could have been better portrayed.

The music wasn't bad--although I would leave out that song that talks about being the center of attraction--I just think the vibe clashes with the action going on, it seems too up beat for taking down a hollow in the middle of town--but I also think the same thing when I hear it in the anime...

Over all it was a decent movie. It wasn't the greatest hour and a half of my life, but it did provide me more time with the beloved Bleach characters before starting on the Bount Arc.
