Well dragon of doom has to be the fucking strangest films of the franchise I’ve seen yet. Like it made sense plot wise and structurally but that all felt like a continuous fever dream regardless. It was fun tho. More of an emphasis on goemon which was different and appreciated but a very noticeable lack of Zenigata like mf showed up like twice and both times felt like cameos rather than actual character appearances💔

Tonight’s film goodbye partner is now done This is another strange one story wise. Nowhere near the levels of dragon of doom but still really strange. Farewell to Nostradamus is done and like Ik I say “this is the strangest lupin movie yet” every time I watch one of these but genuinely this one takes the crown out of all the weird ones I’ve seen yet. TWILIGHT GEMINI!!!! I really really liked it!!!!!!! The character designs r honestly some of my new all time favorites, probably right next to part 5s designs if I were to rank em. The plot was the standard lupin fare but actually had a fun twist at the end I actually didn’t see coming that in retrospect had some really cool foreshadowing at the beginning. The setting was likewise really cool, they really got the most out of it. Somewhere ljke Morocco is somewhere I’d never expect them ...

I REALLY LIKED THIS ONE !!!!!!! The plot was fun the characters were fun it was just a really good time. The character designs in this one were also super nice and again some of my new favorites. This one was basically just “the gang steals a nuclear warhead filled submarine just for shits n giggles” it’s a very engaging premise The movie girl this time was p interesting too and definitely one of the better ones (that’s not saying that much tho tbf). Legend of the gold of Babylon is done and man what a weird one (again). This is my first real exposure to part 3 in any meaningful way and man. I’m really not that big on the character designs; like in theory I should love how loose and expressive they are but in practice it all feels TOO loose and too expressive. Everyone’s movements and expressions are way too mushy and all over the place for my liking. It’s just a personal preference thing really, part 3 ...

GREEN VS RED WAS INSANE. BRO IDK WHAT THE FUCK WAS GOINV ON 90% OF THE TIME BUT DAMN WAS IT FUN. I like how this one poses the idea of Lupin being less of a singular person but an idea or title that someone achieves, which in turn also explains how this character can exist for so long as if no time has passed. In my head I still like the idea that lupin is just somehow one 25-30ish year old guy for 50 years but ...

This is such a good fucking show and a really good lupin anime too. I really like how it was an origin story on top of a totally fujiko centered story. I have to say tho the ending was kinda underwhelming. I really expected the story to go in a different way aka the one they were hinting at THE ENTIRE RUNTIME OF THE ANIME. THEY TRY TO TELL US ONE THING AND THEN IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS THEYRE LIKE HMMM YEAH NO AHA TRICKED U!! ...
