Is Takt Op. Destiny nothing more but a flashy commercial for its related game? The truth is, we don't care about that. In this review, we review the anime and anime only; and we'll disregard any relations this show might have with any other works.
As I'm unsure whether to mark this review as spoiler free or not, please consider this review as one having LIGHT SPOILERS.
Moreover, keep in mind that this review interprets both the plot and characters as specific symbols / ideas. It is highly possible that the authors did not intend to leave this impression in the slightest, but at the
...
very least, it might offer you a different perspective on the show.
Without further ado, let's take it piece by piece and talk about all that Takt Op. Destiny is.
1. Story: 6/10
The plot of Takt Op. Destiny might as well be the worst aspect of this show. A more accurate choice of words would be "the one aspect that's not as well polished as the others". The overall idea of the story is rather simplist. The show features a softer post apocalyptic world, one which has been plagued by creatures known as D2 - an aggressive species which has one particular trait - intense hatred for music. For this reason, the act of playing melodies has been banned and the only way humans can defend themselves against this threat is through the powers of the Musicarts, which are women born out of music itself, as well as Conductors, the only ones who can control their power. As you might have guessed, our main characters, Takt and Destiny are also a Conductor and a Musicart respectively, and the story follows their journey across the country, on their trip to New York, where they hope to reach the Symphonica's Headquarters, in an attempt to fix the problems that Destiny presents whenever her powers are needed.
Although the setting insists on the music theme, "music" in this story can represent a lot of things. For Takt, it represents his one and only passion, for the everyday people, it can represent hope. For older people, it might be a nostalgic reminiscences of better times, and for others it might as well as a simple pleasure which they long to indulged in. For these reasons, I believe music in Takt Op. Destiny is a motif that encompasses all those listed above. Why music? Because unlike painting, sculpting or other forms of art, music is something that each and every one of us enjoys, and we can all agree that a world without music would be boring and soulless.
2. Art: 10/10
I can only describe the art of Takt Op. Destiny as "music to my eyes". With bright, vibrant colours, fluent animation and a flashy art style that pays greater attention to all the little details, the show has a rich enough production value to stand firmly beside major titles such as Demon Slayer or Fate.
3. Sound: 10/10
As a piano enthusiast, the music of Takt Op. Destiny managed to hit just the right chord. The show features a rather diverse repertoire of music genre, raging from classic music, with masterpieces such as Moonlight Sonata in the very start, to popular jazz songs such as Georgia On My Mind from Ray Charles. Trying to identify each song played throughout the show is definitely an experience that I find fun and entertaining. Moreover, one key aspect of the show's sound is how natural each song sounds. Instead of feeling like a synth, every piece sounds authentic, and has plenty of details to further enrich this feeling, such as the sound of Takt's foot pressing on the piano's pedal. The anime also features a rich set of clear and pleasant sound effect. There's something about the twinkly sound of Takt's arm exploding that simply feels so harmonic and satisfying.
4. Characters: 10/10
The characters aspect is what this makes this show really shine.
A. Takt - cold and distracted, the guy who prioritizes music over everything. It only took a few episodes to realize that Takt is a way more relatable character than what I initially thought. For example, being rather lazy and uninterested at times, or impatient when it comes to our goals and desires is a situation that we might often find ourselves into. After all, who wouldn't want to take more than a few days off and do absolutely nothing aside from the things they actually love? I find Takt to be a symbol for the everyday person that each one of us is, a representation for the passionate person that wishes to find fulfillment in the little ( or grand, like a piano ^_^ ) things that he enjoys, and this comparison becomes more visible after analyzing this relation with Destiny.
B. Destiny - which appears to have a rather blank personality at first, but turns out to be a blank canvas, waiting to be painted. Although Takt often complains about her usefulness, he cannot deny his utmost care when it comes to her wellbeing. In the same way, Destiny is a symbol that represents the physical manifestation of our passions. An empty piece of paper that is longing to have a great story written on it. While there are times when we might feel like slacking off for a while, when those long hours of practice might feel like too much, or when we'd rather take a day off and do nothing, being able to see the results of all that hard work will always bring about a satisfied smile, no matter how tiering the whole process was up until that point. After all, Op. or Opus in music, represents a work number assigned for a composition. So what could be more obvious than the show's own title - Takt op. - Destiny.
C. Ana - although a support character, i believe she deserves a very special mention, not only due to her proeminent presence throughout the whole show, but for the role she plays in the whole interpretation as well. After all, Ana is the character which will often scold Takt for being so carefree, but nonetheless appear caring and supportive towards Destiny - Takt's music incarnate. In this whole idea's perspective, Ana represents the people around us, be it our friends or parents, that support us through little gestures. While she is the big sister than complains she can't sleep due to Takt's late night playing, she might as well be your little brother that, although he does not care about what you're about to show him, he'll watch and listen nonetheless - all these are little motivation boosts to keep us going.
There are, obviously, more characters to talk about here, but we won't go into greater details in order to not spoil much of the show.
5. Enjoyment: 10/10
All in all, I'd say Takt Op. Destiny is a truly enjoyable anime for multiple reasons, be it the art, the sound aspect of it, or the simply watching the characters grow and develop on their journey.
6. Overall: 9/10
While Takt Op. Destiny is a truly remarkable anime, the simplicity of the plot points prevented me from rating this a 10.
At the end of the day, for me, this show represents yet another welcomed source of motivation for learning not to compromise when it comes to the things we truly love to do.

"Rejoice, boy. Your wish will finally come true."
Those were the words i kept hearing inside my head as i started watching this movie. After a very long wait, the final piece of the Heaven's Feel route is finally available. It should be noted that my expectations were insanely high, and they were not disappointed in the slightest.
Story : 10/10.
The story of the fate stay night series can be either very complex or plain simple, depending on how much involvement the watcher wants to have through the series. But even with little effort from the viewer, the story is laid out in a way that
...
everyone can understand and enjoy, while also rewarding those who want to get the most out of it.
Art and Sound : 10/10
The ufotable quality is already known far and wide when it comes to anime production value. Even so, it's a rare event when they manage to go even beyond that. The visual and sound aspects of Heaven's Feel III were beyond magnificent. From fights to little details, there's no other anime which can immerse you into the action so profoundly, that you'll feel you're there, in the middle of the action. The soundtrack is beyond extraordinary, and will give you the right feeling at the right time. The main fight of the movie was the most glorious scene i've ever seen.
Characters : 10/10.
Each and every character has been well developed throughout the series, and received a most fitting end. Believable, natural, built around their inner conflicts, those would be the words i'd use to describe them.
Enjoyment : 10/10.
I've been itching to watch this since forever. Words alone cannot express the feeling this anime gives me.
Overall : 10/10.
The fate heaven's feel movies have been a massive success, with a perfect balance between character development, story and astounding visuals and sound, and will forever be one of my favourite series.

From silver link, the studio which is already notorious to me as the one which releases the most generic, cliche animes comes Our last Crusade or the rising of a new world.
To put it simply, our last crusade is a collection of bits and pieces from other animes ( be them good or awful ), mashed together in the most disgusting way possible and vomited on an already dirty plate. In other words, an omlette made out of leftovers from fate powers, rent-a-girlfriend trash tropes, SAO main characters, *insert any silver link isekai* worldbuilding and so on.
We have :
- a tsundere female gilgamesh,
...
which can apparently use unlimited blade works and rho aias.
- your average kirito.
- a fully-fledged mary sue set of protagonists.
- fantasy setting, but not because there's any creativity involved, but simply because having swords, magic and random words in an non-existent language might be catchy for some people.
- a long list of cliche tropes, such as ( but not limited to ) :
A. Female and male MC randomly stumbling upon each other numerous times;
B. Righteous, morally correct, black haired dual wielder male MC;
C. Airhead loli who's only purpose is to bounce her breasts ( namely, the captain of the team who *quote* is a mediocre strategist and solider, but helps the team in other ways. Because that's what you need from a war squad captain. Gogo main character ! ^_^ );
D. Female and male char. Saying the same thing, at the same time, over and over and over again, to demonstrate that it’s not a coincidence, but a strong connection.
E. Random cheerful girl who's all over the male MC;
F. Serious guy who's only there to create a contrast for the male MC, in case there wasn't enough emphasis on his qualities;
G. Both male / female MCs being, ofc, the most prodigy of prodigies the world has ever seen.
H. Both male and female MC have the exact same tastes, since the plot demands that they get along SO WELL.
You get the idea.
Now that we got past the introduction, let's begin with the actual thing. Note that there are spoilers ahead.
1. Plot - 1/10.
The story of our last crusade takes place in a fantasy universe where two factions, namely, the empire ( consisting of humans ) and the witches are at war. Why? Because the show needed an intrigue. The shows beings roughly 100 years after the outbreak of war, and the action revolves around 2 characters, Iska, the strongest solider in the human empire - except he's not. He just has 2 beyond over powered swords. One which can apparently nullify any magic. Imagine being a witch and fighting against that with magic. The second main character is Alice, a direct descendant of Nebulis, the most powerful witch in the world. As both of them represent the "the chosen one" of each faction, it was only natural of them to meet on the battlefield. After a flashy display of unnecessary skills and spells ( since male mc, which we will address as player 1 from now on, could simply cut through her spells if he wanted to ) Alice simply happens to slip on the ice SHE created, directly into player 1's arms, but not before each of them shouts that they want to stop the war. Of course, fate intervenes and the two meet again, this time in neutral city, a city where both factions, although at war and aloof towards each other, simply decided not to fight. And the main characters just so happen to stumble over each other not just once. But again. And again. And again. And again. As they get to know each other, the two realise that the main difference between them as characters is that one of them is female and the other one is male. As they have the exact same tastes, ideals, choice of words etc. A romantic sparks is lit between them. Because we can't have your average wanna be everything anime without romance, right? The plot just goes on, circling around the exact same tropes : random meetings between the two, adding a bit of tinder to their romance, approving of each other's ideas and tastes as much as possible, with a bit of action sprinkled around. As the story moves on, every character which is not directly relevant to the development ( kek ) between the main characters becomes irrelevant.
Art : 6/10.
Art is fine. I mean, it's 2020 standards. It's not trash, but it's not even half of stuff like ufotable quality.
Sound : 5/10.
No matter how pathetic an anime, good sound effects and soundtracks can do wonders. Yuki Kajiura's pieces in SAO will forever be proof to that. But this doesn't happen here.
Characters : 1/10.
The characters in this show are dreadful. Boring. Generic. Cliche.
Iska : player 1. For the sake of trying to make him likeable, both by the audience and the female mc, the author makes him free a young witch ( his enemy ) from prison, which in turn has him imprisoned and stripped of his rank. He's nothing more than the worst version of your average black haired protagonist. Absolutely righteous, willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good, devoid of emotion, not believeable as an actual person in the slightest, with a worthless attempt for a sad backstory in order to stay true to the shonen formula.
Alice Nebulis IX: a powerful, flawless blondie gilgamesh with big breasts. That's pretty much all you need to know about her, other than her being a full copy of iska. One other detail which is actually worth noting is the IX (9) in her name. Seeing as the war was started 100 years ago by Nebulis I, 9 generation of nebulis spawnlings appeared over the course of a decade. Do witches have kids at the age of 10 in this anime?
Missmiss : the captain. Her character is there only for fan service and those poorly executed comedic relief moments, which is either falling on the ground, breast bounce or random loli screams. She is incompetent in every single aspect, including her role as a character in this anime. She can also survive the most powerful spells in the universe unscathed, since player 1 would be sad if she died.
Random ashen haired guy : sacrastic, mean guy, who's only purpose is to be in contrast with player 1. Looks more like a young archer emiya shirou than emiya shirou does.
Redhead girl : the generic cheerful girl that works hard and hints that she might be somewhat useful, if only she was a main character, that is.
Alice's handmaiden : the one and only character in this show which is remotely believeable. She does not have enough relevance to the plot to receive any trope service. If anything, she's a voice of reason who's only purpose is to be ignored by Alice.
Nebulis 1 : One of the strongest witches ever alive, which awakens only to be banhammered into oblivion and forlorn in silence by MC's OP 1 shot. She was also the one who attacked the empire 100 years ago.
Iska's mentor : also the brother of nebulis 1. He managed to survive for 100 years in order to train Iska. Which makes perfect sense for a human.
Enjoyment : 1/10.
This anime was literally a pain to watch. During the 3rd episode, i constantly felt like screaming or punching something. If you don't like generic, poorly written stories with the most variated assortment of overly used tropes, this anime has every single thing that you might hate.
Overall : 1/10.
Watching 4 episodes of Our Last Crusade was, for sure, one of the worst experiences of my life. This anime has absolutely nothing to offer. It is so bad that you can't even make fun of it while watching. If i could give a 0 to one anime, it would be this one for sure. So, why did I watch 4 episodes? Only to be able to leave this review.

Mayouu Maou Yuusha might be one of the most interesting, yet underrated animes out there.
Story : 10/10
Is it possible for an anime to talk 20 minutes about a potato and still keep you entertained during this entire time? Well, that's exactly what Mayouu Maou Yuusha does. The main idea of Mayouu Maou Yuusha revolves around the war between the humans and demons; mainly, the economic and quality of life impact the war has on the individual, be it human or demon. In a world where poor countries rely soley on war funds to survive and the rich profit from the struggle of those forced to
...
fight, Mayouu Maou Yuusha is prepared with a full arsenal of original ideas, tackling the war idea in the most non-traditional anime way - through diplomacy, negotiations, economics, agriculture and education. Only through extensive research effort was it possible to make such an anime both credible / convincing and captivating.
Art : 9/10
The art style of Mayouu Maou Yuusha takes a pretty simplistic approach, this way, making sure the main focus remains its plot and characters, while at the same time, keeping it detailed enough to underline every important focus point. The purpose of the animation in this anime is simply to furtherly enchance ideas and to contour the context, as if reading a book which has illustrations.
Sound : 10/10
The music in this anime falls nothing short of impressive. With it's mesmerizing soundtracks, Mayouu Maou Yuusha needs less than a few seconds of your time to fully immerse you into it's fantasy world. While the anime does not feel like a high-budget work, it certainly is beautiful in other ways. Although most of the sound effects will give you a "stock sound" feeling, they are carefully chosen and planted along the episodes. Some of the sounds are easily identifiable, sound effects similar to those of Age of Empires 2 for example, which will kick in some heavy nostalgia.
Characters : 10/10
Alongside the story, the characters of Mayouu Maou Yuusha represent the main strength of the anime. If I were to describe the characters in one word, "believeable" would be the word i'd chose. The anime's script cannot be described as anything other than gorgeous, giving every single character a very natural feel. While mostly dialogue oriented, the voice lines chosen here create a very strong harmony between the characters and the fantasy setting. If you happen to notice midway through the show that you do not remember any of the characters' name, rest assured, for that's how the anime wants itself to be. No character in Mayouu Maou Yuusha has a name, thus, allowing each of them to be interpreted as a symbol ( for example, Maou can be seen as the symbol of science in the medieval times ). Unlike most animes, the fan-service and romance parts of Maou Mayouu Yuusha are nothing more than a bit of extra spice, like a sprinke of salt on your food, for those two aspects never go too far and manage to effortlessly blend in, making it one of the few cringe-free animes ever created.
Enjoyment : 10/10
At no point in time was I ever bored or dissapointed while watching this anime. From start to finish, it never failed to deliver what it wanted, sometimes even more than that.
Overall : 10/10
With so much care put into every single aspect of the show, this anime is one of the easiest 10/10 for me. Interesting plot which can be interpreted in a dozen ways, amazing believeable characters, beautiful captivating animation and immersive marvelous sound, that's the recipe for something amazing.
Go ahead and watch this masterpiece if you like :
- An immersive medieval anime;
- An original , metaphoric plot;
- Carefully managed worldbuilding;
- A non-traditional approach of a traditional story;
- Natural, well done character development;
- If you ever wanted to see a fantasy isekai on history channel.

This review contants minor spoilers!
From ufotable, the studio known for its unlimited budget works and stunning animation quality, comes Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba.
My review is based solely on THIS anime, and not whatever may happen next in the movies, manga, next seasons etc.
With that being said, get those AP shells ready, for there's a lot of plot armor to break through.
Story : 3/10
The story is as generic as it can be, which is the failproof shonen formula : MC is weak -> MC trains -> MC beats some weak guys -> MC trains -> MC beats stronger guys and so
...
on. Basically the whole story is the Naruto - Orochimaru arc. 99% of times you shouldnt have a hard time predicting exactly what will happen next.
Art : 10/10
Not much to be said here. The anime has stunning animation, as expected from ufotable. Which is one of the few things that actually made this anime succesful. While the animation is amazing, i had a hard time deciding between a 9 and a 10, mainly because we see amazing ufotable animation ever since 2012 in fate/zero, and the difference is not that significant.
Sound : 10/10
Music by Yuki Kajiura should be enough said here. Of course, ufotable plays a major part as well regarding overall sound effects.
Character : 4/10
The caracters are as generic as the story. Over the course of the 26 episodes, no character ever said something worth remembering. The script is ~20% made of characters screaming the name of other people, thus making sure you actually remember the name of such otherwise
unmemorable characters. The brotherly love between MC and his sister is not even close what it wants to be, and feels rather forced and not exactly believeable. There are 2 aspects regarding character development that are actually decently well made : the training of the MC, which doesn't feel rushed unlike other animes, and the backstory of every dying demon, which is a good way to make the viewer feel attached to the less important characters. Except those moments are usually ruined by MC and his constant dilema of " I wanna be a demon slayer but this demon seems like a nice guy. "
Enjoyment : 7/10
If you happened to like one of those generic shonens, its pretty hard to find one that's bad enough for you to dislike it. Following this pattern, kimetsu no yaiba was good regarding enjoyment.
Overall : 7/10
Is kimetsu no yaiba a bad anime? I could not say it is bad. But its the perfect example of mediocre writing getting lucky enough to be adapted by an amazing studio, only to become popular because of the animation and the loli memes.
