This was a fun watch, but the ending feels very incomplete and underwhelming. The pacing in Slam Dunk can be slow at times, even if you enjoy older anime series.
The characters are likeable enough, but lack any sort of real development, for example, Sakuragi Hanamichi's longstanding rivalry against his teammate Rukawa. It would have been nice if they had delved into this rivalry more, and possibly overcame it in some sort of way. Right up to the last episode, Sakuragi still has major issues with passing to Rukawa, and Rukawa scoring any points.
