Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, the one thing that truly deserves to be called a masterpiece.
This manga is a piece of art that can only be described as perfect, it has a feeling that it is impossible to replicate, the author wrote this manga with his heart on the hand and I can truly feel it.
The love that has been put in this left me perplexed, the dialogues are so clever and subtle, the themes are executed with elegance and the character journeys feel so real, human and genuine.
Alpha has won my heart, she is someone that I can only recognize as a fictional character because she
...
is drawn in pen and paper.
Ykk changed my life, it may sound cliche and unoriginal but it genuinely hit me and made me a better person, made me rethink my decisions, made me cry, made me smile and made me forget everything i had for myself and let me enter this peaceful and amazing world were peace reigns.
The main value I take is the value of the things right in front of you, its natural that we as humans focus on what weighs more, often is problems, it may even be other people, mentallly struggles, of course its valid and understandable to focus on that but the main issue in this is forgetting completely what you have, "being alive is an opportunity to be happy" be grateful, your life may have things that are not ideal but always remember that you are alive and capable, take nothing for granted and you will live a happier life.
The breeze, the sun, the moon, the stars, the flowers, its easy to see these as "normal" its easy to ignore them, they are insignificant because they are so common, no, these things and a thousand more are important, details are important and seeing life as something beautiful is important.
Pain is beautiful, love is beautiful, people are beautiful, details are beautiful, LIFE is beautiful and a manga that reminds me of this simple yet forgettable thing will remain in my heart.
The collective unconscious is scary, live the way you want to, do what makes you happy, enjoy yourself.

NHK, a criminally underrated depressive masterpiece.
The story follows a guy called Satou a hikikomori, meaning he has extreme social anxiety, to the point that its difficult for him to even leave his house.
This anime portrayes characters that are not made to be likeable, they are meant to be human, for instance many other animes create these cool, kick-ass, brave and amazing characters to look up to, but NHK is different.
NHK and Punpun are two pieces of entertainment I really enjoyed, and they have one thing in common, that is the portrayal of characters, they are incredibly human, they make mistakes like all of us, and
...
they make unpredictable decisions.
Another thing I really liked about this anime is the portrayal of mental health issues, another characteristic of Satou is that he believes an evil conspiracy is causing all of the anxieties he has, and constantly thinking to himself life shouldn´t have turned out like this.
The refrigerators in this anime talk? no, they dont but in his head they do, he is scared to face reality, scared of having to face a new chapter in his life, while living in constant sorrow, this girl showed up, Misaki, one of my favorites if not my favorite characters in anime in general.
Misaki is a sweet girl, a girl that at first glance will help others without hesitation, its almost a miracle a girl like this showed up to satous life.
(warning spoilers ahead)
Remember how I said at first glance? yeah she is a nice girl, but it is later revealed she is even more fucked up than Satou, she has endured a miserable life, and she cling to helping people more miserable than her for a glance of hope, to feel better and watch how other people are fucked up too, she is one of my favorite characters because of her development and thoughts, she is amazing and i lover her too much.
(spoiler free ahead)
The development of the characters is amazing, their backstory, the way they act, and how human they are, makes me love this unique piece of art.
The ost is incredible too, some songs in this anime make me feel so shallow, while the opening for me sounds like the last hope of having a happy life.
If you want to check out an incredibly real story with great characters, and philosophical topics about life check this anime out.
