After reading the synopsis you might think this is just another typical martial arts shounen, Boy gets stronger, fights for his friends, and at the end saves the day. Why in the world do i need to watch this?? Well it's rather simple.

Let's start of with the story. As stated above the story is almost the same as any other shounen but he, that's what makes this a shounen. Nevertheless Kenichi is kinda different. He just doesn't have talent. Finally a protagonist that doesn't discover a hidden power and BAM owns the whole world. Nope Kenichi has put his heart and soul into the training ... for him to become a bit stronger. Maybe some impatient people dont like this but i think it's rather nice he needs to try his best and not everything is handed to him.

Next stop, Art. The art in kenichi is pretty nice, but the female boobs are way to big. Those girl have got to have some serious back problems. This doesn't really bother me but i think some viewers may not like this.

What gives Kenichi it's strenght are the characters. Kenichi is very lovable because of his strong willpower, This in combination with his lacking strenght gives a lot of funny moments. The rest of the masters of zanpaktou aren't really deep. Some episodes may be based around their background but dont expect to much. The reason they are here is to entertain the viewer(or so it seems).

I think that while watching this anime i laughed more than while watching any other anime. Comedy definitly play a big role in Kenichi.

In short. If your into watching anime where a boy struggles to get stronger under the supervision of a bunch of idiots Kenichi is definitly a YES!
