Happy to say that Slam Dunk is back after decades. Let me preface this by saying the CGI is not an issue at all, if that is the only thing holding you back then please experience this film. This film puts Miyagi as the main character and in the driver's seat. The film begins and ends with him. Initially for me I read all of Slam Dunk because of Hanamichi and he is my favorite character, so this decision is what holds me back from giving the movie a 10/10. Also felt that Hanamichi's VA was a little lackluster, but that could be my bias

towards his original anime VA. Also felt like that movie should've included the epilogue or at least elements from it to give a sense of closure, because it does not seem like there is going to be a sequel at this time. Otherwise it is an emotionally gripping story that encapsulates the entire Slam Dunk story. You can really see that Takehiko Inoue himself was the one who directed this film. The story revolves around the final game with Sannoh, but manages to summarize each of the Shohoku starting 5's journey to get to this moment. I thought it would be a daunting task to extend the match for the entire runtime, but the film does a good job of keeping the audience's attention. For me the golden chapter for Slam Dunk was the final sequence before the buzzer where Takehiko Inoue decided not to have any dialogue, but pure action. The film does a masterful job of capturing this moment and leaving the audience holding their breath till the final buzzer. I highly recommend everyone, Slam Dunk fan, basketball fan, or even sports fan to watch this film.
