Both use time shift as a plot element, and feature survival games that the protagonists play to determine their future. Both examplify using yandere characters and gory scenes.

A cast of female characters in a school setting. Both contain very little, if any, storyline, but rather focus on pure comedy. Nichijou is much more random in comparison, but both pull off jokes extremely well.

Both with lots of anime references, with many from Suzumiya Haruhi. The characters for both shows fall into the moe genre. Both are very light-hearted and funny shows with little to no plot advancements. Ichizon also had a direct reference to LS.

Both have stories set in the school counsel, with 1 guy and many girls, many anime parodies, sex talk (the male in Ichizon, all the girls in Yakuindomo). Ichizon has fewer ero jokes and slightly more plot, but otherwise the two are very similar

The protagonists in both series are extremely talents in everything they do - whether it's studies, sports, or learning new things. The personality for both character are also similar - close to the tsundere archetype (though Kirino is not as dere-dere). The male leads are both caring and responsible figures, but they both have to endure the hardships imposed by the female leads.

The similarity shared with Endless Eight becomes apparent late at season 1 - with Rika being the keeper of time, and resets time in order to reach a happy ending, similar to the role for Yuki. Other characters eventually pass over memory between other loops and help to change fate. Even though being a Haruhi fan, I must say that Higurashi executes this much better in comparison.

In LS, the super-otaku worships a god. And that god is Haruhi Suzumiya in SHNY. There are also plenty of Haruhi references in LS episodes. Aya Hirano voiced Haruhi and Konata, while Minori Chihara voiced Yuki and Minami. Both feature fun dance routines. If you worship LS or SHNY, you should watch the other as well.

Element of "god' in both series, except that in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Haruhi is the god, and in Angel Beats, Yuri is opposing the god. Supernatural elements in both (monsters). Both use character flashbacks for character development. Also, Yuki and Kanade are both danderes who are good at fighting

same company. both use elements of "miracles" in their stories. both have 5 girls protagonists, and many are actually very similar - Ayu = Fuko, Mai = Tomoyo (maybe), etc. Both are almost harem, where in the beginning, the male lead has connections with every girl, and in the end chooses one. However, I would say that Kanon is sadder in general while Clannad is mostly happy (until after story anyways)

Both series explore dark subjects existent in this society - child abuse, justifications for homicide, etc. LOTS of blood in both. Several female leads in both series can be classified as yangires (i.e. Higurashi - Rena, Shion, Miyo; Elfen Lied - Lucy, Nana, Mariko)
