Oh hi there, just know that i'm writing this while waiting for my flight to an island with beautiful scenery and life-changer villagers, because that's how much Barakamon affected me. (Sorry if this review is mehh, but i'm trying to avoid giving any spoilers.)
"You won't see any opportunities from below if you keep looking above your head all the time"
"Once you carve your path, all that's left is to walk it."
Sometimes, life isn't always the way you want it to be, and that's what makes life worth living. Watching this series, i cannot stop thinking about the beautiful hidden messages that lie within every
...
episode. Slice-of-life anime has always been my favorite, and Barakamon, you're gonna stay in my list for a long period of time big boy.
Punching the calligraphy director - being sent to an island by his father - coping with the different lifestyle than in Tokyo. Pretty much the whole summary of Barakamon. Simple right ? That simplicity is what makes the whole story so interesting to watch. When i watch any anime, i don't really like to finish all the episodes in one day because i feel that, the longer time it takes for me to finish a series, the more connection i feel with the characters, simply because i look forward to it. ( yes, even though there are just 12 episodes. i know i'm a little weird).
Handa is a very lovable character. He feels so low about everything except when it comes to writing calligraphy that he felt the need to punch an old director for criticizing his work, (not very lovable now doesn't he), but he started to show his true bright color throughout the series especially after meeting Naru, Hina, Tamako, Miwa and Hiro, and you know what, i love this guy. Despite his serious looking face, he has deep thoughts about everything, wisdom quotes that he said to himself, leaving him utterly embarrassed after noticing that he was heard by Naru and others.
There are times when i just want to curl up in bed, in awe of everything that happened, and sometimes i laugh at the stupid jokes, not because i think they're funny, but because of how much i can relate to those. (They are funny actually) And nope, not a single tear was shed, but i do feel my heart fluttered with happiness and other kind of feels i cannot explain, i'm not too good with words, but have you ever felt happy over small little things and everything is just great, yeah, that kind of feels.
If you're looking for a feel good, heartwarming, inspiring anime, give it a try.
I can't help but smile when watching the entire series. The OP and ED are so good i didn't skip any of them during those short but sweet 12 long episodes.
Season 2 ? Yes please ! And there goes my informal review.
oops, they're already announcing my flight. Ja ne !

I found out about Angel Beats from two groups with very different opinions about it , 1) good and sad or 2) absolutely overrated. Eager to know in which group I am in, I decided to give it a try .
Angel Beats is about teenagers who died in their early age with regrets, unable to live their unfulfilled lives and are sent to a world (afterlife). Otonashi is sent there with no memories of his past except his name, joined a rebel group called the SSS, who fights against Angel. He later discovers the truth about that world, and also about Angel.
WARNING =

character; 8
I was very interested in the concept and the story, i think it's brilliant, i just wish they would do more than just 13 episodes. They could achieve much more if the number of episodes are extended. They lack details. Many scenes in the series revolve around the SSS fighting angel, doing rebel things and fighting the shadow causing the story itself lacking important stuffs. There are not much scenes about the main characters and the members of the SSS group. How did they die ? What happened to them ? What are their regrets that cause them to live in the afterlife ? Except for Iwasawa, Otonashi, Hinata and Yui, the reason of the others' death remains unknown, including the female protagonist, Yurippe. The graduation scene in episode 12 is longer than most scenes in the entire series. I understand that the graduation scene is supposed to be heartfelt, but to me, I can't really feel more than i could because i don't feel much connections with the characters. BUT, i do love the stories of Otonashi and Iwasawa. The ending itself (episode 13) is a little confusing. I don't know much about reincarnation or if you could still remember yourself after being reincarnated, but i kind of love it because it makes my imagination goes wild.
The art of this animation is very good, the fight scenes are detailed, the movements of the characters are fluid, the scenery is beautiful, i am pretty much happy with how it turns out.
The sound is one of my favourite aspect of Angel Beats. The voice actors are good, but i love the soundtrack the most. The songs that GirlDeMo performed, the ending ost, and let's not forget about Iwasawa's beautiful heartfelt ballad song, "My Song". I absolutely LOVE that.
Iwasawa is my favorite character. She looks very calm, very talented in what she's doing, and i feel so attracted to her and her story. I wish she wouldn't disappear too soon because she is very lovable.
Angel is also a good character, very mysterious but once she showed her true color, i couldn't get enough of her. As for the other character, there are no wow factors to them, including the male protagonist, Otonashi, except for his back story because in my opinion, it's very sad and inspiring at the same time.
I wouldn't say i enjoyed Angel Beats so much i couldn't stop clicking the 'next episode' button and stayed late at night just to have a marathon, because somehow, i don't feel so attached to it. It is an okay series. What makes me upset is that Angel Beats is very popular indeed, and the main story line is beautiful, but it just doesn't reach my expectation. Like i said, it probably lack the most important things about the characters, their stories. In my opinion, to love an anime with all your heart is to love the characters first. Know them, understand them, feel them. Iwasawa, Otonashi and Yui are what makes the story alive.
I probably would recommend Angel Beats to you and others, but i won't guarantee that you would think it's one of the best anime ever, especially if you're the kind of person who pay very much attention to the characters just like me. Hate it or love it, it's your choice, but if the 'Angel Beats fan club' is behind the fence while the haters club is on the other side, i would stay on the fence.

"Similar to ToraDora! - Lovely Complex"
That's how i found out about Lovely Complex. I fell in love with ToraDora! (TD) right on the first episode, and i am still planning on re-watching it. Hearing a lot of good thing and the compatibility of these two anime, i decided to watch Lovely Complex (LC) . I can honestly say that TD and LC have similarities and both are very enjoyable.
The female protagonist (Risa) and the male protagonist (Otani) don't hate each other, they just find each other irritating since the whole school call them the comedy duo, and their height difference is just an extra thing
...
for other students to laugh at. Guess which one of them is 172 cm tall and which is 156 cm ? 99% got it wrong. What happens when Risa falls in love with Otani, a stupid guy who is too dense to realize it ?
My ratings of LC are as below,
STORY - 10
I have been on serious anime trips and i needed to watch something light but heartwarming and funny. Call it cheesy young romance or typical high school life , but to me, LC is very unique in its own kind of way. I was hooked right on the first episode. The story line was not once boring and i was very entertained. I laughed way too hard so many times, i lost count. The jokes, the humor, the comedy, whatever you call it, they keep playing in my head even when i have moved on to the next scene, i ended up pausing the episode just to laugh all over again. You might think that it's just like other high school based anime and you might be right, but LC has its own charm and attraction
ART - 10
Did i really just give it a 10 ? even though it was released in 2007 and the quality isn't as good as others ? Yes, i just did. I give it a 10 because the art is one the reasons why Love Complex is very entertaining. The face the characters make when they're making jokes, mad, shocked and feeling gloomy, they look almost inhuman. If i get a dollar every time i chuckled just by looking at their faces, i'd be really rich by now. The art isn't flawless and that's what i love about it, it makes delivering the comedy more effective.
SOUND - 10
The voice actors ? Perfect. Nothing i can complain about.
CHARACTERS - 10
I'm in love with the characters, especially Risa, Otani, Haruka and Nobu. Risa and Otani are both stubborn, love to annoy each other, but Risa is more open about her feelings while Otani is more dense and shy to wear his heart on his sleeves, and together, they're indeed the comedy duo. Haruka is a cool guy in other girls' eyes but he gets weak when it comes to Risa. He felt irritated every time Risa and Otani hang out together and his reactions are always priceless. Nobu is a tough girl who always motivates Risa to confess to Otani, and she becomes Risa's love sensei.
ENJOYMENT - 10
After all the positive reviews, i couldn't possibly give it an 8. I have a stupid smile on my face every time i watch an episode, and there were times i laughed way too hard i can't make a sound, i ended up clapping like a sea lion. i do enjoy Lovely Complex as much as i enjoy ToraDora!, the similarities are there, the only thing is, ToraDora! is more depressing but of course, in a beautiful way.
I couldn't say this is everyone's cup of tea, but would i recommend others to watch Lovely Complex ? DEFINITELY.

Changing the past is something mankind wish for. Once, i thought of how exciting life would be with a time machine, never again would i hope for something that life changing. Steins; Gate , one of the most anticipated animation , remains one of the best among others. Does it deserve a perfect score ? My ratings are as below.
STORY - 9
I wanted to give it an 8.5, but let's just go with 9. I could give it a 10, but something is holding me back. Steins; Gate started off very slowly. It's hard to understand anything on the first episode, and the
...
story takes a very slow turn , i almost giving up watching but until the 7/8 episode, it starts to get a little bit interesting. The real excitement starts from episode 12 and i couldn't stop watching after that. I got slightly relieved i didn't drop it. Others enjoy the half first episodes, but maybe the way the story goes on and the humour aren't my cup of tea. The 13-24 eps are really the ones that contribute the 9 score the most. Other than the criticism about the slow first half, the others are amazing.
ART - 9
I usually do not pay much attention to the art , but since i wasn't very enjoying the first half series (sorry i keep repeating this) , i take a good look at it anyway. there's nothing special about the art, but it's good. I love the details on the future gadgets, the computers, even the writing on the whiteboard is neat. There's no wow factor to it but overall, i have no problem with it.
SOUND - 10
There's not much to talk about . The voice actors did a very good job, even the ost are beautiful.
CHARACTERS - 10
I really like the characters especially Okabe Rintarou. I love the fact that he is a mad scientist instead of a very cool one. He was indeed mad at the beginning but he slowly showed his serious side and his empathy. Ruka Urushibara's gender as a guy is not a surprise since it is very common for a guy to look like a girl in an anime, but it's hard to keep reminding myself he is not what he looks like. I just wish they would show who Daru's future wife is but other than that, the characters are good and together, they created such a good story.
ENJOYMENT - 9
i could give it a 10 if it's not because of the first half series . but mostly, i truly enjoyed it. i love the plot twists and the quotes. There might be a lot to take in to some people, like myself, i couldn't understand it just by watching that i had to do research and read discussions about what's really happening. But the fact that it's a little complicated is what amaze me. How did the creator came up with this brilliant story line and concept in the first place ?
Overall, i would give it a 9. I love the ending and it couldn't have ended any better.
"Everyone gets help from someone else at some points in their lives , so someday you should help someone too" - Amane Suzuha
"I've only lived 18 years, but i don't want to change any of them, they're all parts of my life, even the failures." - Makise Kurisu.
"No one knows what the future holds, that's why the possibility is infinite" - Okabe Rintarou

Change. We all experience it. but Kaneki knows how it actually feels better than anyone else. It is indeed very scary, but becoming 'someone' you're not is better than dying in vain. That is something Kaneki is hoping to believe.
Tokyo Ghoul is indeed a very popular animation, adapted by its manga, becoming more and more well-known across the globe. I happened to find out about Tokyo Ghoul on Tumblr, with all the endless amazing and bad ass fan arts of the characters, i decided to give it a try.
The main plot of this story is about the two different types of citizens living in
...
Tokyo, the human and the ghoul. Being aware of each other, they live a very careful life. The human avoided being eaten by the ghoul, while the ghoul hide themselves from being captured by humans.
Kaneki was once a very ordinary boy, living a dull boring life, but that drastically changed overnight. What was he like ? Why did his life change ? How does he cope with it ? The answers lie within his journey. Vampire and ghoul are two very mainstream animation idea, that's what makes it hard to turn the idea around and create something original. Would you like the animation and keep on watching or would you do the opposite ? The answer is yours to decide. But it is totally possible for you to click the 'next episode' because honestly, what's not to like about it ?
A boy living with ghoul's organs only to become, probably the most powerful and unique ghoul around, the somewhat gory scenes, the amazing plot. Still not convinced enough to watch it ? Did I mention about the bad ass and cool looking female protagonist ? I just did.
As much as i love the anime, i do have something about one of the character that disappoint me a little bit at the beginning. The male ghoul named Uta. His cool fan arts on tumblr could be the reason why i started watching, (although i keep on going because of the story itself), i expected him to be as bad ass as in the fan arts, but he is more of a polite guy, and possibly a little shy. Nevertheless, i happen to love him anyway.
I'm very looking forward to the second season. The ending of season 1 will leave you wanting more because of the cliffhanger, so the continuation must be breathtaking.

Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood ? Overrated ? Absolutely not. Watching this whole series, i was thirsty, thirsty for more enjoyment, humor and character development each time i finish an episode. Definitely worth watching. The older series, Fullmetal Alchemist is a good anime, so i had high expectations for Brotherhood. The story line of these two series are slightly different but the plot remains the same. The shocking but amazing plot twists got me taken aback and sitting on the edge of my seat to see what else is coming.
I laughed, I cried, I cheered.
I also learned valuable lessons.
About loving someone unconditionally even
...
if you have to give up something that means the world to you, or even risking your life to the verge of death. Edward and Alphonse, the brothers, love each other to the moon and back, and even when their love reach the moon, it will come back to earth and keep itself alive.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood makes you question about the life they chose, about lust, wrath, sloth, pride, gluttony, greed and envy.
How does it feels to lose someone ? To sacrifice everything ? To watch the one you love lives in the whirlpool of despair? The answers lie within their beating hearts.
Do i regret watching Brotherhood ? Yes because i ended up sleeping late every single night due to the undying excitement and no, simply because, it kills hours of my time watching this with love and enjoyment.
If i have to choose which one of the Elric brothers that i love the most, i will have to ponder over it for a long time, and i even might not get to choose.
Both of these characters equally contribute to the storyline. None takes the spotlight from the other. Both would sacrifice themselves, both would bear the pain for others' happiness, and both touched the hearts of people around them through their journey.
It is possible to love so many characters in one anime at once, at least that's how i feel towards them.
Whether you like this anime or hate it, the choice is yours, but, this critically acclaimed series will slowly devour your heart and grows within you, and it feels good.

Oh my. This movie. Before I continue with review, I want to point out that this review may CONTAIN SPOILERS and is solely my own opinion. It might seems biased because I love Naruto in general but I just want others to know how much this movie impacted me.
-Story-
Naruto and his comrades fought the Akatsuki members even the ones they have killed before, abruptly, all the members disappeared not long after the fight, leaving Naruto and his comrades in confusion. They went back to the village and every single one of his comrades bragged about their achievement kicking out the akatsuki out of the
...
village to their parents, asking their parents to promote them to a higher ninja level, jounin. Being an orphan, Naruto had no one to talk to as he stood and look around with a sad face. He then met Iruka Sensei and went to Ichiraku Ramen. Naruto confessed to Iruka, saying that he wanted Iruka to promote him to a Jounin. Iruka denied because he had to be a Chuunin first. Since Naruto didn't take his Chuunin exam, he wasn't allowed to be ranked higher. This made Naruto unsatisfied and they seemed to have a serious quarrel. Knowing that it was useless, he walked out of the shop. He accidentally met Sakura who was in a hurry and both of them went to the park. At the park, Sakura started complaining about her parents being whiny and bossy especially her mom and Naruto wasn't satisfied to hear it. A while later, a man who called himself Madara appeared and sent them to a parallel universe to test out his Project Tsuku yo Mi. Not knowing that they have been sent to the other realm, they were shocked to find out that none of their comrade knew who Madara was. Not only that, their friends' personalities also changed. To their surprised, in the other realm, Sakura was the one who lost her parents as they lost their lives saving the village (like Naruto's parents did), while Naruto, on the other hand, lived by a different name, Menma, and his parents were alive and well. In the beginning, Sakura seemed to enjoy her life as an orphan in the other dimension while Naruto had a mixed feeling about his parents. The story went on to Naruto and Sakura encountering Madara to be able to return to the real world. In the end, they succeeded and went back home. What seemed to be a few days in the parallel world, was only probably a few minutes, or hours in the real world.
-Character-
SAKURA
If you watch this movie and do not feel even slightly annoyed by Sakura, you deserve unlimited supplies of ramen. In my opinion, Sakura's character in the first half of the movie is unbearable. This started when Sakura and Naruto went to the park and Sakura started complaining about her parents. 'why cant I have normal parents like everybody else'. Naruto listened at first but he felt a bit upset with her because she wasn't thinking of Naruto's feelings. Then, Sakura had the nerve to say 'why does it has to be you in front of me, Sasuke would've understand me better'. Perhaps she was too overwhelmed by the feelings of having annoying parents that she forgot Naruto was always there for her and saved her from every mess she was into. This makes me stopped watching for at least 15 minutes, taking my time to ease my mind. After she went to the parallel universe and started to realize how lonely Naruto was in the real world and how solitary she was in the other realm, her character seemed to become more mature and understandable. This continue until they managed to get home, finally being able to see her parents again and feeling grateful what she already had.
NARUTO's character is painful too watch as well, not because his character was unbearable, but mostly because of the feels trip you're going to have due to his solitary. This started when they managed to fought back the Akatsuki and had no one to talk to, since he was an orphan while every single one of his comrades bragged about their achievements to their parents. The same thing happened when he was in the park with Sakura before they encountered Madara, as I already stated, an orphan boy had to listen to his friends complaining about having annoying and bossy parents. In the parallel universe, his character slightly changed especially when he found out that his parents were alive and well. He didn't want to be close to them, didn't want to get along with them. Mostly because he knew that they were not real, that it was all a painful lie. But even if he tried to deny his feelings, deep down inside his heart, he had always wanted this life, a perfect happy live with both of his parents, a life which he never had a chance to live in. He wanted to avoid the feeling of being home, because sooner or later, that feeling will be taken away from him. After battling with what he wanted and what he knew, he decided to be apart of the family and used the name Menma, and for that short while, he was happy. As much as he wanted his life to stay that way, he had to get back to reality. After he went back to the Hidden Village, he started to feel lonely again, Sakura had people to come back to, her parents, while Naruto on the other hand, had no one waiting for him at home, just like other times. To his surprised, Iruka sensei was already there waiting for him in his house, with food on the table, to celebrate his birthday together. As tears rolled down his cheek, that was when Naruto realized, even if he had no parents to go back home to, he will always be in his comrades' heart, a place where he truly belongs.
MINATO AND KUSHINA's personalities didn't change in the parallel universe as well, at least that's what Naruto thought.. Minato was still that sweet and gentle guy while Kushina was the same hot tempered red haired woman. Naruto didn't realize how much they differ from his real parents until their fight with Madara. When Naruto wanted to save Sakura, Minato didn't oblige, saying that Sakura was a stranger and they didn't want to risk their lives saving a stranger, they also forbid Naruto to save her as well. That's when he had a clear idea that somehow, they're still not real. Naruto didn't know much about his parents but one thing he always knew was that Minato was the hero of Hidden Villages, and in order to do that, he was ready to seal himself even though that means he will not be able to see Naruto grow up. That was the kind of father he had and in that moment, he knew he was doing the right thing to go back to the real world.
OTHER CHARACTERS. (not everyone)
In the parallel world, their friends had different personalities.
HINATA- she became a very confident woman and feared no one, pretty scary too, especially when she threated Sakura not to get close to Menma, completely a contrast to her real personality
SHINO- hated bugs
KIBA- became a cat person instead
AKAMARU- never got along with Kiba and bit him all the time
CHOUJI- had Shikamaru's personality
SHIKAMARU- Chouji and Naruto's personalities mixed, love to eat, very goofy
INO- a nerd
NEJI- a pervert, especially to Hinata
SASUKE- a player who flirted with girls
KAKASHI and GUY- switched personalities with each other
TSUNADE and SHIZUNE- switched boobs instead (insert laughing emoji)
Watching this movie late at night is definitely not a good idea, the tears keep coming and i ended up woke up with swollen eyes. Definitely makes me appreciate what I have. This movie deserves more ratings and recognitions. Parallel universe is not a very original movie plot but it brings justice to this motion pictures. The story is outstanding, definitely a lot of unexpected plot twists, funny and enjoyable, but also make you go through the emotional feels trip the entire movie.

Where do I start ? First off, I just want to say that I could never catch up to this anime and I am still way behind the newest episode released, so I might as well am clueless about some of the new story plot but what I honestly say is that I truly enjoy the anime. The story started as a high school student who is also a detective named Kudou Shinichi, was forced to take some kind of drug that resulted him to become a smaller him, which makes him look like a middle schooler kid. And this incident happened on his date
...
with the female main character, Ran. (Seriously, how unlucky is he), and he ended up choosing a new identity for himself to investigate about those man in black who gave him the drugs. Then, he called himself Conan. He eventually lived with Ran and her dad,Kogoro Mouri who called himself a detective without them knowing that he is Shinichi. The story goes on as Conan lives a somewhat normal middle schooler kid but with a very shrewd mind since he hasn't lost his ability of smart thinking. He encountered many problems and solved many cases while investigating the man in black, using Ran's dad by making him unconscious and imitating Mouri's voice to make it as if Kogoro Mouri is the one who's solving the case so Conan wouldn't expose himself as a detective. Detective Conan is one of the earliest anime I have watched and most of the times, I tried to solve the cases on my own but I failed, Maybe i'm not shrewd enough or the way they plan the method of the assault, case or whatever they are called are utterly perfect they could've fooled you in no time. Even though I am still way behind the newly released episode, I enjoy my long journey catching up to it. This anime has hundreds of episode but the plans of murder are always different and and are still somewhat clever. This is why would recommend Detective Conan.

If you're looking for an anime that values the meaning of friendship, this is the right anime for you. This anime is beautiful in so many ways, but mostly because of the message that it gives us. Growing up is a very certain thing, just like death, you cannot stop yourself from growing up. Most of the time, when you become older, you started to lose bonds with other people especially with those who shared memories with you when you were little. Trying to keep that bonds strong just like they were in the old times are hard when we have gone our separate ways.
...
We go to high school, become friends with 'cool' people, changing the real us just to fit in, thinking that we have made it, but are we happy with ourselves ? That's how Naruko feels. She lost herself little by little, trying to be apart of something she's not. In life, you also deal with the hardship of moving on from something or someone that means the whole world to you, even after years of trying to be free from the dark past, you just can't seem to forget that one incident that is killing you from the inside, it seems like it happens just yesterday. This situation portrays Yukiatsu, the guy that tries to act cool but deep inside, he suffers from years of sorrow, just like a volcano waiting for the right time to erupt. One of the most common problems when growing up is making the right choices and trying to change yourself to a better person. Sometimes, you know that what you're choosing is not the right thing, but you just can't seem to change, you. It's still possible for you to be on right track but you at least, just need a little push from behind knowing that someone's got your back. That's Jintan's dilemma. He doesn't go to school, actually skipped the whole semester, but his dad seems to let him be on his own way, that's why he is upset. Love is an exceptional thing when it comes to growing up, sometimes you fall in love with the person that you spent you childhood with, because when you didn't know much about this world, that person gives you so much joy. Just like you, the person that you love also falls in love, but the person is not you. Years pass by, you're still close to him, still spend time together, still walk to school together, and you feelings towards him never change. So does his feelings toward the other girl, and you're torn apart. because no matter how much you try, you will never be good enough to replace the one that he loves. You're right beside him, you exist in his life, and that's how it will always be. You just exist. This is the story of Chiriko. Tetsudou is also one of the main character in this anime. His character is relatable to many of you, or probably people that you know. As a kid, he was always the cheerful one, and even after so many years, he still is. He loves travelling and knows how to regain that strong bonds he once had with his childhood friends, but just like other characters, he hides a terrible feelings about his childhood, but still tries to move on live his life. When you grow apart from those people you used to spend your time with, things will change. It saddens you how you and the rest have changed, you don't talk anymore, you rarely see each other, even when you meet each other, it's not on purpose. But somehow, you want things to go back to the way it used to be, no matter how much time it will take, you just want to feel the way you felt a long time ago. This is how Menma feels. Even though she's just a ghost, she was saddened by the fact that her childhood friends have changed so much, and worse, that might be her fault.
This anime is probably the closest to what is happening in the real world, except for the ghost part, but this anime is certainly heart warming and soothing. Perhaps it will make you value what you have especially the bonds that you have made with your loved ones.

This anime though. Honestly, I truly enjoy it. This may seem weird but I love both the protagonist and the antagonist. Yagami Light is a very erudite student that was bored with his life, waking up to the same old thing. He picked up a book that fell from the sky called the Death Note and was amused by it. He didn't actually think that the book might work but what the heck, he started writing a criminal's name and the criminal was killed. He was taken aback by the result and experimented with other criminals. As good as he is, he eventually became obsessed

with the book and was getting pleasure by killing other people, thinking he was doing justice to the world by eliminating bad guys. L, on the other hand, is also a very interesting character. He might be just as smart as Light. Looking at his appearance, you wouldn't believe that he is the legendary L. Both of them befriended but at the same time, they are rivals. An anime wouldn't be perfect without a main female character and in this anime, that girl is Misa. I wish I could tell you more but I might as well accidentally give you spoilers. One thing I could guarantee is that every episode will leave you wanting more and more. To say that this anime is overrated would be a crime because Death Note deserves every single recognition it's getting.
