nah i knew twim b4 lirish. not that much before tho (bout a month). but i was too lazy to read it. BUT IM STARTING IT AGAIN. im just powering through the boring start. on like chapter 5 i think
and the lain text you sent me, i wrote a full fuckin 3 paragraphs and i was proofreading and wanted to edit a bit and like accidentally deleted like nearly all of it. so i got pissed and didnt respond for like 3 months. SORRY IM VERY STUBBORN
oooo i like themes of connection and stuff, lain does the theme great too. Ill add it to my tab now (basically i have a tab for manga and anime where i pin all the stuff i want to read or currently reading, and i pick randomly want i want to read/watch.)
Lain is great but idk bout the execution, the themes it explored was great and the general atmosphere and dialogue were great too but the overall execution felt boring, there were times where i got distracted and had to rewind since barely anything was happening, its also very confusing and its hard to grasp the plot, i normally watch an ep and then search for analysis on each episode to understand. Lain is a great mc but i would be lying if i would place sel in my top ten rn, since i try to make my top ten about animes ones i enjoyed, like a good balance between enjoyable and good writing. sel has great writing but i felt bored at times whilst watching it. i actually prefer to read boring mangas over boring animes due to i cant get distracted, its hard to explain but i would prefer if sel was in bookform or somethin, bdecause its easier to reread a panel then it is to rewind 3 mins back and watch the whole 3 mins again)
hehe it was great. i was a bit confused at parts but some analysis i found on the internet, which helped me understand all the themes explored by the manga.
Gesicht was incredible and his conclusion was incredible; him going against his programming and gaining his free will. There were so many interpretations to the manga and it was great, The cast was strong too (like writin wise not literally) e.g atom and north 2 and epilson and pluto and some others.
oooo children of the sea? i heard of that, ill add it to my ptr list. im currently watchin serial experiments lain and im kinda readin berserk; i dont really like berserk too much though, the blackswordsman arc is kinda bad imo, so im might put it on hold. im gonna reread beastars (i read like 17 chapters 2 months ago, so ima reread them and carry on).
hehe u guessed it! i have it at number 5 rn. it was great, alpha was phenomenal and i loved the message. only slight problem was that it was too implicit- which is just a personal preference. everything was implied in ykk, but it was a fun manga to read, glad i read it!! im going to also read TWIM soon. for reference, what is your top 5?
