lol poor film. And yeah, I occasionally step away from the medium as well, so I get that. Citrus is.... special, to put it lightly. Already have a review typed up for it.

Aye, you watched Metropolis, I like that one. Nowhere as good as the live-action film but the old-school art style was a treat.

LOL. Thanks.

It's pretty interesting. Weird but interesting. I think I'll like it!

Wow sounds like you got everything planned out lol. I'm watching Ashita no Joe (a really good sports anime) right now. After I finish that, I'm probably going to watch Mononoke Hime, Eoe, Kino's Journey, and Welcome to Nhk. In that exact order :D

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm a little biased towards it because I am very intrigued by the samurai genre. However, without taking my bias into account, I still believe it deserves a lot of the praise it gets. The atmosphere and characterization would have too be the main selling point for starters. The OVA simply delivers all across the board. The music is top-notch, the main protagonist is interesting, the character development is astounding, the fights are well-choreographed, the animation is beautiful, and the themes are universal. While it certainly didn't do anything to push the envelope of anime, it did in fact serve as a nice template for how character dramas/tragedies should be done. Also, its has high rewatch value. I do agree on your point about the story needing a little more elements added to it though. Honestly, the main thing I love about this series is the vast array of elements that were weaved together to make a hopeless and moving story.

What do you plan on watching next?!

Well if you ever get around to making one let me know, I would really like to see it :) It's alright, like I said, Proxy is not very accessible to mass appeal. It's very much a niche title that require a different approach to viewing things to properly get into it.

I just don't see the point in taking up memory for everything I watch. If I want something later, I could always go back and download it. But to download everytime is crazy.
I love me some OP/EDs, they're a nice complementary piece to the anime when done right. I'm glad you like them :) More common interests is never a bad thing in my book. Do you have a top 10 favorites as well, or do you not bother? What I like musically change all the time, so putting together a concrete list is pretty difficult. Some days I like one more than the other. And I love Champloo's ED as well, if you look in the ED honorable mentions list it's there. Like I said, it's hard picking between them all. I just settle for the ones I could constantly revisit no matter my mindset.

A LOT of things make Proxy my #1, far too grand of a discussion to have with a brief explanation. But to put it in a nutshell, it's the most rewarding viewing experience I've had across several different storytelling mediums. Equal parts challenging, interesting and when understood, extremely rewarding. Left me at awe on more than one occasion, and even upon revisits, the experience still yield new discoveries. It's a pretty multifaceted piece of work and if you're into that kind of thing, It's damn near perfect for that. From the characters to the very meticulous story structure. I think it's the most misunderstood title in the medium. Too easily dismissed simply for a lack of comprehension. But then again, it's pretty fucking difficult to decipher if the viewer isn't use to that method of storytelling. It's a pretty niche appeal, far form accessible.

It should be available on Kissanime, here: http://kissanime.to/Anime/Freedom-Sub
I never download any anime, I don't see the need to go that far to watch something lol I stream everything. Haha yes, that was actually something I quickly noticed looking at your favorites and anime list as well, it's actually part of the reason I accepted the request.

Ajin sounds good. I'll add it to my plan to watch list.

I haven't seen anything from this season. What would you recommend?
ZephSilver Oct 12, 2016 8:57 AM
I really liked how it was able to balance very personal stories as well as all-encompassing ones that gets everyone caught up in it. Seeing the MCs growth and just how far they pushed it was something I really enjoyed.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
