Enjoyable at start, falls apart near the end.
When people say cringe they probably have different explanation of what cringe means, for example I though that for this show it was the childish behavior of characters that were behaving like some sort of super heroes/villains. Honestly it was a bit cringe, but in a good way. It was mostly funny, adorable and enjoyable. Lots of meme material!
--MINOR SPOILERS--
As we get closer to the end we find out that this behavior is caused by severe trauma and the show starts being darker, with a bit of philosophy and trying to be deep. But it falls apart hard.
So
...
in the end I didn't find childish behavior cringe, instead it was the show trying to be deep and dark.
I mean I do understand that some characters can't behave like that forever and they need to accept reality, but they've been doing this for years ... so maybe try to get them off gradually? Instead the show forces instant upside-down change of characters and their family forcing them to accept reality INSTANTLY... and this "shock therapy" is displayed as some sort of a good thing.
No one is trying to guide them trough this transition, it's just forced instantly which effectively just makes them bottle up their feelings and be depressed. Anyway the whole thing is kinda idiotic but presented as something deep.
Another thing I had problems is that the MC gets ton of burdens to make things right, even tho he is just a kid. And even worse he gets these burdens from adults, which should be the ones doing something but, to quote big booby older goth sister, "it's too embarrassing". The only thing the adults are doing is trying to force instant change of character without any sort of transition period, basically they are useless and just want results now without any care for the feelings of their younger family member. Idiotic.
And last thing that I found stupid is characters just randomly spawning in scenes, literally.
One example is where the MC tries to catch a train but they say it is too late and there are no lines, so he gets the bike and it's dark and late but for whatever reason another character stops him in the middle of the dark road, seemingly just spawning there, and then proceed to tell him sad and serious backstory. How did she know where he was going and where to be is beyond comprehension. And this is just one of many times the characters just randomly spawned in the scene just in the right time, it has become ridiculous. And even worse it that these scene were supposed to be serious (as per the show atmosphere) but instead you just find it laughable and keep wondering where did these NPCS spawn from.
Honestly first half is enjoyable and derpy, but the second "deep and serious" part just falls apart due to the above issue, which btw are only present in the second half. It could have been a lot greater but in this state it's barely 7/10 and only that high because of the first half.

To summarize: What the f*** did I just watch?
It starts with what am I watching followed by what am I watching and ends with what the f*** did I just watch.
I kinda have mixed feelings, I feel story was nothing special nor existent really. On the other hand it feels like a weird dream? Like that moment you have just before you wake up, you're half awake and half dreaming, that's how this movie feels.
From artistic side it is amazing, lots of unique and imaginative scenes (famously inspired Inception) and the OST is amazing (Parade song is the reason I got interested).
But the story is
...
just all over the place, like a dream, which I assume is on purpose.
However I expected something, dunno, more? Better? At least some sort of an end, something more concrete.
But all I got is a weird dream-like feeling instead, which in itself is dreamy.
Am I dreaming?

Avanturistic show about 2 teenagers traveling trough a ruined dystopian world.
The highlight of the show is the relationship between our duo which is quite wholesome and funny. They might be in their late teens but they act like adults, having been roughed up by the world around them and having many tragic situations. On their journey they come across many people and trough them we learn more about the world around them.
The world is mostly messed up, well actually it is very messed up, which is expected since the world is in ruins and civilization collapsed. Everyone tries to get by, mostly by crime and
...
abusing others.
Pretty much every character has a bad or evil side. Sometimes our duo helps or gets helped by someone, and you think how nice that is only for it to turn out quite bad or not that nice. I'm thinking the recurrent theme is that every good in this show has a terrible, messed up side to it, so far every character or situation showcased it. The only shinning light is our duo, but even that wholesome relationship is heavily heavily disturbed later on by the 3d party with **trigger warning** sexual abuse.
Oh and there are mysterious man-eaters, which are monsters that, well, eat humans.
There is a separate story line, aside from our traveling duo, that explores the history of the society collapse and how man-eaters came to be. It's a bit dull at the beginning but it becomes a bit more interesting later on, only to fall short towards the end with a bit of magic mumbo jumbo. **Trigger warning** there's a suicide somewhere around here, buuuut from the direction this mumbo jumbo scifi stuff is going it might end up somewhere else, to be seen in the next season.
All in all a good show where the relationship between our duo shines, even though the world events might kick you down, especially with the last episode leaving a terrible taste.

Bakuretsu bakuretsu la-la-la!
From a show that I dropped a record of 4 times to a show that has become my favorite of all time, having re-watched both season more than 5 times and counting!
I'm not really a fan of "weird angles" and this show does have its fair share of them, especially in the first episode which I dropped 4 times because there was just to many pantsu scenes. But boy was I wrong, once you get past that and become a real weeb (aka a degenerate) it becomes a hilarious show with a heartwarming adventurous, companionship feeling.
Synopsis is basic, and I'm not going
...
to repeat what MAL already wrote for it, lets just say that aside from main story this anime makes fun of cliches and other animes (especially isekai) without it being the core premise of the show.
The core premise of the show is the gang, each of them having some sort of a special power and, ..., special personality.
And the interaction between them is hilarious, each has a sort of an unique personality, and our protagonist is the (unfortunate) glue that holds the gang together.
And even though members of the gang mostly have extreme personalities, they never feels forced or overused.
They have other negative quirks, but they always redeem themselves, both in the show and to the viewer.
You just cannot dislike them even though they have so many negative traits. They always come on top, and deep down they will always help each other and the others.
This anime was made with a lot of love, there are many little details that the creators added that really shows how much love they had for this show. And the voice acting is superb, an actual masterpiece. You can tell that VAs really got into their roles and had ton of fun, and it really makes the show all that much more likeable and hilarious!
All in all an excellent, and hilarious, anime that is definitely worth watching!

Nothing special, but if you're a fan of Konosuba you'll probably want to learn more about the backstory.
The thing that makes Konosuba so great and hilarious is our gang of 4, all together interacting with each other and having unique personality quirks that work together in hilarious ways.
If any of them is separate it will just be bland, having said that Megumin probably has the richest backstory that is worth exploring, especially if you are a fan of series. So do not expect it to be similar to Konosuba, this is just a side show that reveals more backstory.
It starts with mediocre high school
...
stuff and moves up trough Megumin departure from school up to the the start of the first episode from season 1. So, imo it does get better and you get a slight touch of that "original" feeling towards the end, but only in traces. Without our gang the magic is simply not there.
Having said that, animation is good and it does have its funny moments. But the main thing why you should watch this is because you will learn more about Megumin backstory, there are a lot of references to the original show, with some interesting reveals of why some things happened - what goes around comes around :P

I feel like this anime had great potential and it definitely has its moments, it will shock you, make you disgusted, make you sad, but very often it will make you mad because some characters are that dumb. My God are some characters straight up dumb, so dumb that you, as the viewer, straight up get offended how can anyone be that dumb.
First episode will immediately get your attention with an excellent opening and OST, with episode having brutal gore, violence, sentient being slavery and extreme experimentation, abuse, boobs, action what else do you want? It's lit.
Then next few 2-3 episodes you will get
...
introduced to some other characters and, trust me,you will get annoyed by their stupidity and actions (this theme of stupidity goes throughout all of the show).
Another few episodes are mostly fucked up with tragic backstories, including extreme stuff like implied pedophilia, extreme loss of sanity and more lifelong slavery and experimental torture.
After another few episodes you'll realize that basically this is a catch them all simulator.
And the ending? It was supposed to be a sad closure but then the last 3 seconds give us an open closure that implies something very very DUMB. It just leaves you with a bad taste.
All in all I feel like this anime had a great potential, but at the end it makes you feel like you wasted your time. The shitty open closure in the last episode contributes much to that.

If you ever feel tired of life I guarantee that this will revive you.
It further expands on already good season 1, resulting in an absolute masterpiece with phenomenal music, art, animation and especially characters and atmosphere that are just outstanding in the second season.
And all of that just from "high school girls in music club having some tea". It is hard to describe just how wholesome and moe this show is and I admit I shed a few (wholesome) tears here and there (especially at the end). And honestly the show is so wholesome that I'm not even embarrassed to admit it (well maybe
...
a bit).
There is only ONE bad thing with this show and it is not about the show itself:
[DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FEEL SAD]
"Time has stopped when it comes to you"
The creative people who worked on this masterpiece did not deserve the cards they were dealt.
To think, while watching, about all the amazing people that gave their heart and soul to make this masterpiece and then to realize most of them suffered a horrible end brings me pain.
All in all the show is a masterpiece of wholesomeness and a testament of human talent and creativity.
10/10

Anime that dwells on failure, social anxiety, isolation, depression, addiction and suicide with a bit of humor, weeb stuff and a pill that is labeled as "reality dose". You don't see much of these, especially with this depth and quality.
I think anyone would be able to relate to this anime because, to relate, you don't have to check all of the boxes this anime is going into.
We all have failed at least once in life, and felt the very things this anime portrays. It's just that this anime goes a bit more into extreme, what happens when an individual goes into complete isolation for
...
years, and all of his already existing conditions are amplified?
It follows one such individual named Satou, who seemingly randomly meets a girl which wants to cure him of his condition, with the penalty for him not following the conditions of 10 million yen!
But don't worry, there is no shallow romance, nor is there romance or fan service at all. It's just 2 broken people that pop in each other lives and try to fix/help the other one due to mostly selfish reasons.
STORY 10/10
I think the story is great and I enjoyed each moment of it. It is really well connected, from foreshadowing in the first episode to the (IMO) on of the greatest endings I've ever seen. There is is not magical cure, happy nor sad ending. It's just what is it.
The anime is also a kinda realistic for most of the stuff its portraying, so it might sting you a bit especially if you relate to that part.
CHARACTER 10/10
There are other characters aside Satou and Misakil. The fact that one episode hit me like a train because of one character and that I felt a bit pissed at the other is, IMO, saying that they are well written.
Note for non-hardcore-anime watchers that one character is obsessed with weeb stuff which you might might find a bit weird.
ART 9/10
You won't find this in HD and even if you did the art is mostly simple, but effective. It doesn't need extravagant art as it's story driven. And it is highly effective in portraying character states/emotions.
SOUND 11/10
I kept listening OST long after I finished the anime. Some scenes are straight up masterpieces just because of the scene and music.
There's not much for me to say and not to spoil anything, but remember this if you watch!
There is no Misaki in real life, and if you think there is, it surely must be a conspiracy!
