The shows are set in a world where the community lives on a big ship as it is the only inhabitable place left in the world. As they fight their daily battles, an extraordinarily powerful person joins their rank. Together, they fight to make it a better place. For you, and for me, and the...ahem, excuse me. There are action and romance scenes in both shows.

***Similarities*** They share a similar light hearted and adventurous atmosphere, with enough action here and there to keep you engaged. They are both relatively slow pacing(quite similar but not the same) and both series deals with problems of the world/society. Towards the end, you will want to ponder about the world that they live in. The side characters have realistic traits in contrast to other anime which uses them to "make the story more interesting" or as stupid lame ass comedians. ***Differences*** The major difference is that in Dennou Coil, the story gains intensity towards the ending while Higashi no Eden retains the slow pacing throughout. Another difference is while Dennou Coil's focus is more on adventure and mystery, Higashi no Eden is more on comedy, action and romance. ***Ending Note*** The overall feeling is similar. There are little differences in genre, intensity, story/character driven and pacing. This is unlike pairing Higashi no Eden with Mirai Nikki and unlike pairing Dennou Coil with Serial Experiment Lain. The overall feeling that you get from those pairing is just way too different. If you liked the adventure in Dennou Coil, or if you liked the action in Higashi no Eden, you will probably like the other. Thanks for reading :)
