Before I subject Josh to this...how "ecchi" is it? I read some of the reviews and more than one person mentions it is a "guilty pleasure" anime. Is this something I can watch with my four room mates (three of which are guys, one of which is my younger sister)?

I toggled between a 7 and an 8. While I enjoyed it I had some serious questions and felt like there were a few holes in the plot. In the end, I decided to value "entetaining" over "makes sense". I don't know that I have a favorite arc. There were some particularly well done scenes (like Saki's last visit with Shun). The revelation wasn't a revelation to me. I actually thought it was something they had alluded to near the beginning of the anime and the ending itself played out pretty much how I predicted.

We've always marathoned our anime. :) Although last night we didn't get a chance. :( We're only on episode 12!

It turns out I did know what was going on...I just didn't think I did. We're on episode 9 or 10 now.

I watched the first three episodes of Shinsekai Yori last night. WAY more interesting than Parasyte. We almost didn't finish Parasyte, actually, but I was so excited about it, having read the manga back when it was published in Mixxine... (ugh...I'm old!) The whole series was slow. And by the end of the anime, my eyes just started glazing over. I felt like they shoved in a bunch of crappy shoujo that didn't below in there and then at the end decide they hadn't made their point yet, so they started shoveling that in as large swaths of monologue. It was one of the few anime where I didn't think it was bad - I thought it was boring. That's almost worse. And yes, when it comes to anime I do tend to rate things as "Average". That's the whole point of "average" - it's the middle. If I don't feel strongly about an anime, it's not great, but it's not bad then...average! =P

We are probably going to watch Shinsekai Yori next. Finished Parasyte Maxim tonight. All I have to say is "TL;DR".

Ahh, in that case I didn't know there was going to be a Psycho-Pass movie.
We're watching Parasyte at the moment and I'm feeling nostalgic for the days when TokyoPop was Mixxine. ;)

I haven't heard of Shinsekai Yori. I'll have to look it up.

I didn't know there was a second season but actually, yeah, we did watch this in 2011. I don't remember it too well but Josh does.

We have it, but haven't watched it. It's on the list. A very long, long list.

I liked Psycho-pass. We started the second season but have yet to finish it. I was surprised at how much Josh liked it. Usually if it's not shoujo he won't watch it! >_<

A few months ago I quit the job I worked at for 12 years. That was a thing.
Last thing I watched semi-recently was Psycho-Pass and My Little Monster. I just finished reading Ibitsu (the horror manga, not the romance) and Ghost Hunt, both of which I kinda loved. We are still trying to pull together some kind of regularly scheduled anime night (not quite gotten to regularly scheduled...more like everyone happens to be in the same state at the same time).

I kind of forget this place exists. I have short periods of time where I can watch anime or read manga and I read/watch a whole bunch at once...but it only happens once or twice a year. I'm not familiar with Hummingbird. I recently finished reading a bunch of manga I started in 2008 that finally finished. We pretty much haven't watched a whole lot of anything in recent times. Or at least nothing new. We went back and watched a few older things with friends, just enough to get them addicted. ;) What have you been up to? We have occasionally been known to breathe...
