THE STORY -
is basically a boy, Yoneda, was tricked in to giving up his dorm room in his university to a classmate and so he went to live in a dilapidated boarding house. In the boarding house, he meets about 7 or 8 (too lazy to count) residences who were from the culinary university (though it didnt say or show if all of them belonged in the same university or different universities), except for one. Yoneda, the main character, does not know anything about cooking except for makin miso soup and rice and he is
...
enrolled in the business administration part of the culinary university.
OVERALL (spoiler warning!) -
this was....a headache to read. This manga and it's plot had some potential to blossom in it's very early stages but it didnt. It was so fast paced, some parts didnt make sense (though that might be due to the translator's fault, idk), and some character issues weren't covered. For example, the problem between 2 brothers living in the same boarding house were never fully dwelled into. All that the readers got to know was that they hated each other. But why did they hate each other? Guess the mangaka decided that was not of importance for the readers to know of. And what of the landlord, Satou, being an android???? This manga lacked flow and proper character development. The art was ok but not a style I am fond of. As for humor, there were some I suppose, but I chuckled twice. And they were a very slight chuckle at that. I understand it was 13 chapters but even one shots have better plot development than this manga.

I jumped into this manga even though I was somewhat aware that this series was dropped. However, in order to quench my thirst for manga and from being tired of searching for a good manga that suited my taste, I decided to dive into this one since the ratings seemed somewhat decent.
The story is quite simple - a devil (Dogma) is thirsty for a soul to consume; the soul of a 'true chef'. He has met so many chefs but their souls tend to be corrupted with pride, greed, and arrogance which leaves a bad impression on the devil. So he meets an ordinary
...
innocent boy (Satoru) and the devil wants his soul but the soul isn't perfect for consumption since the boy has no experience in cooking whatsoever and so the devil takes it upon himself to perfect this boy's soul via cooking since after all he is after the soul of a "true chef". The devil has a lot to do in order to perfect this boy's soul and thus the process of the boy maturing through the culinary world is what this manga is about.
The idea behind most chef manga tend to be the learning, maturing, and bettering a young chef's skills/talents hence making this story concept anything but new. However, the author does a good job in keeping you turning the pages with it's comedy and, well, also the characters. The comedy, I believe, is what makes this manga to be a fun read. The idiot friends that Satoru gains, the humorous ways the characters are introduced, and the countless torture Dogma puts Satoru through all while having a sadistic smile on his face is quite funny. And the artwork helps alot with the comedy scenes by portraying them well.
My only disappointment is the way it ended. Like i stated above, I knew this was a dropped series but I was hoping the author might have ended it in a more better way. The last chapter was getting to be really interesting and serious. It almost felt like a new arc was about to take place. Plus the manga was mainly about Satoru's world but I felt the last few chapters was going to go into Dogma's world so I thought we would have a chance to get to know more of him but that did not end up being the case. Ah, this was a good manga but I really wish they would ended it properly or just continued until a proper end was reached.

Reading the reviews here, I realized that this manga was based off of on a true story. After reading the manga, I checked out the real story to see how near to the actual story this manga was and also if the victim was faring well. What I found out was...disturbing. The manga is not even close to the real injustice the victim faced. This, however, does not make the manga bad. In fact, I am glad the manga did not remain true to the actual case because the torture the real victim faced was just horrible. No, it was more than horrible.
This is
...
an important manga to read, in my opinion. It shows how far humans can go in being evil. As a psychology minor, it was easy to understand why some characters did what they did specially in the case of Hiroki. Please keep in mind that doesn't mean I excuse his actions. The author omits alot of the details from the real case but still is able to say the story in a way for us to be able to sympathize and also get our blood boiling. This manga touches upon rape, murder, and just the ugly side of humanity. Definitely a must read if you can stomach the cruelty shown in this manga.

Ah where do I start.
Reading all 3 seasons of Bloody Monday, back to back, probably was a bad idea because this manga overall was just frustrating.
Story:
Season 1 was not bad though there were still a few issues I had with it. The main character may be a genius at all the tech stuff and what not, but he seems to lack basic common sense. For example, why the hell are you discussing top classified information in your school club room so freely without taking any proper precautions? And it seemed so silly and unnatural that a high schooler was able to outperform with
...
the most basic tactics than the trained elite forces at 'third-i'. However, season 1 was much more bareable than 2 and 3.
Reading the last 2 seasons, I can not help but wonder if the author had a grudge on the Western world. I say this because the way he protrays the military service of America to be immature at best during the middle of a terror plot. I mean, if their leader is in a country, where it is to be known that there is a potentional danger looming ahead then wouldnt they take precautions and be cautious of every possible threat or suspicions?? Even if the possible threat may turn out to be just a prank - wouldn't they still practice caution? According to the author, the leader of America is the king of the world, after all. So why were the members of the different factions of law enforcements that were dispatched to protect the President of America acting like arrogant prideful brats? Ugh. After the 1st season, I really thought the next 3 would prove to keep the pace or level up but it all was just rushed and went downhill. And all I ended up with a bloody headache.
Character:
There is a lot I can write negatively about the main character but I won't because there was a character who frustrated me to no end besides him and that was Haruka Takagi - the younger sister of the main character. Man, I really wanted to smack her everytime she appeared. She was useless and annoying and always getting into trouble with the terrorists. It seems like all she was good for was to be taken hostage. Again and again. And when finally she was able to strengthen her resolve and decided to give a chance to protect her family and friends in season 3, she still proves to be useless and ends up becoming nothing but a heavy burden on the crew. Even screwing up the hero's plan because she couldn't listen.
But a character I did love so much was Jun or 'J'. Really, why couldn't he just have been the main character? *sigh* He seems and acts more like a hero than the actually planned hero. A better leader who knows how to lead.
And finally, Hibiki, who appears in season 2. You know, this character had great potential to be someone better given who she was and what she was after buuuut... the author seemed to only include her in the series to serve as a love interest for Fujimaru. Pity. The weird thing was how quickly the hero and she fell in love with each other once her true identity was revealed which resulted in no one barely trusting her. There was no proper gradiation on their sudden attraction. It just happened and next thing you know they are kissing and so in love that they can't keep their eyes or hands off of each other.
Overall:
Based on all 3 seasons, my opinion on this series is that...it's not worth the read. You may have some fun reading out of it but trust me, it is really not worth it. But then again, that's just my opinon.

I am not great at writing reviews, but I am trying to get better so please bare with me on this one. Hope you like my review though ^^ ok so lets get on with it.
I started to watch this because it was written by Yuki Midorikawa. I loved her previous work "Natsume Yuuchinjou" and I was hoping this would be another good anime to pass my time on. I was not wrong.
I am sure that on this movie there are many reviewers who has retold the summary of this story in their own review which I am going to skip over because I
...
am pretty sure you get the gist of it.
The whole plot was well put together. Even though the movie was only 40 mins. long, it did not seem rushed at all. Every scene flowed well into place.
BEWARE: READ ANY FURTHER AND THERE MIGHT BE SPOILERS!!
The characters were well played and none of them annoyed me, which is a plus point for me. It was really heartbreaking to see both Gin and Hotaru growing up to be good friends and eventually falling in love. Seeing them both struggling to hold each other and feel each other's warmth did make my eyes water.
Whenever I watch any anime, I am really careful about the ending because even though an anime could be great, the ending could really kill the whole story for me. But the ending on this movie was too good. Though it would be better if they could get together, but that did not happen...it was still beautiful though!
I definitely recommend this!! Can't wait to see what Yuki Midorikawa comes up with next! ^^

I swear, the anime/manga writers must have been on crack when creating this manga lol. I loved and enjoyed every episode of Gintama. I loved all the characters as well. None of them did I have the heart to dislike. There are many comedy animes that I have seen, but nothing compares to Gintama. This anime truly deserves alot of applause. I highly recommend this anime to anyone who needs a laugh from their everyday lives. I am sure you would enjoy it! =]

Mushishi. This anime is really difficult to describe in words, but I will try my best. I enjoyed this anime a lot. It was really different from animes that come out these days. It is one of those animes that makes you think a lot about your own self and things that surrounds you. The meaningful things they say in this anime is really touching and sometimes I do memorize some of the things they say. The music used for this anime was just soothing to listen to. Everything about this anime s great and I do recommend this anime a lot.

I stumbled upon Nyan Koi! when I had nothing else to watch. My opinion on this series is that it wasn't the best I have seen. When I first read the plot, it seemed really interesting, but I found the anime to be more annoying than exciting. I am not going to deny that I did enjoy this anime somewhat. The only parts I really did enjoy watching were Sumiyoshi's and Nagi's parts. The rest were ok, but not that interesting.

I was really not sure if I should watch this series, but I ended up deciding to watch it and man, am I glad to have watched this. I gave this series a 10/10. Why? Because this had such a great plot and I enjoyed watching every episode. Besides who could deny the cuteness of the baby? The plot was something different from what I usually watch so this just peaked my interest a lot more. I do recommened this anime to beginners.
