The main characters are both wanderers and travel around the country to solve the problems caused by supernatural beings. I lack the words to properly describe the genre, so I'll label them both as "food-for-thought-anime". If you like short stories with a deeper meaning, then Mushishi / Mononoke (depending on which one you haven't watched yet) is definitely worth (binge) watching.

Let me first say, I wanted to recommend konosuba from re:zero, but as I found out you cant recommend older shows. But these two are similar in so many ways (story, setting, style) it doesnt really matter. So maybe you're thinking: "why watch another one thats basically the same?" Well here's your answer: The side characters and battles. While re:zero has mainly more "serious" side characters, the characters in konosuba are just hilarious. Also, the battles in re:zero are more epic (more gore), but konosuba has that funny aspect in every fight. So it also depends a bit on your own taste.

Not only the titles look-a-like, but the feeling you get when watching is fairly similar. Main characters have only one thing they are good and his friends (and other side-characters) will help him get back on his feet. The scenes vary from funny to death serious which makes it very appealing to keep on watching. So If you liked "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso", "Sangatsu no Lion" will not disappoint you.

Before you click away because you're thinking, 'this can't be an accurate recommendation', just hear me out. There's only one thing that these two have in common: redo parts of life to save the ones you love. It sometimes may seem impossible to keep on going, but keep trying and don't give up - this is the core message in both. So if you like these kind of underlying messages (like I did), you won't regret watching them.

A man taking care of this cute kid. It's beautifull to see how the characters change over time, how they manage to raise a kid and improve their parenting skills by doing so. Not only this, but the kids are pretty cute and good in creating funny scenes. They even got me thinking of having a little one of my own someday. So if you like cute kids and funny situations, but you also appreciate the realistic aspects, then this is something for you!

Interference by something that cannot be explained. Love triangles, awkward & funny situations, friendships (re)born, cute (female) characters and of course mature jokes ... what more can a teenager ask for!

'Destroy all evil and make the world a better place', that is what the main characters want to accomplish. The medieval setting from Shingeki no Kyojin changed to a more futuristic/apocalyptic setting in God Eater, but the sword is still (one of) the mightiest weapons to defeat the enemy. Awesome weapons/gear, epic fight scenes, mystery and betrayel are the most prominent aspects of both series.
