0k, I found out about this story from certain AniTubers who said it was a better work than Toradora! despite being by the same author (Now I have no doubt that it was just nostalgia talking and that they haven't seen this work in many, many years), that, and that I love the works of Yui Horie and Ai Kayano got me interested in Golden Time; and I'm not lying when I say that I firmly believe that this is a story that no one, NO ONE should ever see.

series like this) and explaining why is very difficult without falling into spoilers. I will only say that my main problem is that, although it starts very well, the protagonists soon enter a kind of toxic relationship that they never get out of, and that the series paints as "something good".
I understand that a series does not have to have a happy ending, but that's one thing and making a sick relationship pass for a happy ending is another.
I won't go any deeper so as not to ruin the experience if anyone reading this wants to watch it, but in that case, I would recommend that you analyze it carefully, look at the state of mind of the main characters at the beginning of their relationship, their character curves, growth, what did they learn, what did they have to overcome?
Personally, series like this should be limited to H, and even there, there are less unhealthy relationships.

Man, I feel a little betrayed with this anime.
Certainly more than the plot itself, the problem I have was due to the overhype around it. Because of the circumstances of its emmission, many classified it as "the true anime of the year", a hidden gem that went unnoticed because of a certain evil organization with big mouse ears.
But the truth is it's good yeah... but it's not that special.
The animation is pretty good and the music slaps sometimes, yeah, but the plot that should be the most important thing on a mistery story and that has been compared (not without reason) with ReZero or Steins;Gate
...
is far below the quality of those. With an argumet that asks you to suspend your disbelief from the beginning and whose protagonists alternate between smart and dumb depending on what the story requires; not to mention several deus-ex machina, "justified" during subsequent flashbacks for the shock value.
(As an example and to minimize spoilers I will only say that the protagonist returns to his old house for the funeral of a friend -who died just a couple of days ago- however there are very few people who really show mourning and those who do, seem to forget it completely as the story progresses, giving more importance to their love relationships... and mind you, on a mistery story, those personality changes should not go unnoticed.)
In the end, it's a good series, and as I said, really my problem is that I was expecting to see a masterpiece worthy of being in the best anime of all time, but in the end it's just.... good; and that's kind of disappointing.

It's a classic ecchi with genderbend, but it hides a more interesting and better plot than most of the current productions.
Although it doesn't escape from the cliches of the genre, at least it didn't make me roll my eyes with every joke; in only 12 chaps the characters had a greater development than others have in two seasons, the music doesn't shine but it fits perfectly with the story, its worldbuilding is not really elaborated but it's interesting, and the animation is attractive and fluid enough for the genre.
In short, it's a series that, while not quite good enough to be a gem, is

well-crafted to shine on its own. It's really a shame that we probably won't see a second season (a somewhat weak start and its months-long hiatus didn't help it in that regard). We'll have to wait for the uncensored Blu-Ray sales to find out.

This is one of my favorite manga and it's kind of sad that it didn't last a few more chapters or that it doesn't enjoy a better animation. To be more precise, several of the jokes and comedy moments were eliminated due to lack of time and in order to tell the romantic part correctly (which is understandable since it is what matters most) which, together with a rather mediocre animation, leave Tomo-chan clearly behind other gems of the genre such as Kaguya. If you have time and/or liked the anime, I recommend reading the manga, which is a delight.

story along with great voice acting and a well timed comedy should be enough to give the anime a chance, especially for those who like romantic comedies and don't want to commit to watching 4 seasons of another series, you won't regret it.

imagine that someone recommend you go to a restaurant, they tell you about an incredible and novel experience, and although they don't want to spoil it, you know from their conversation that there is a surprise at the end.
And in fact once you arrived, you can't help but feel amazed by the attention to detail that you can observe, everything from the service, to the menu is beautifully crafted; maybe it's a little odd but in a good way.
When the first dish arrives it is indeed a novel experience, maybe a little heavy for your tastes, but man it's enjoyable; and the next one
...
is as good if not better.
Reading the menu however, you can't help but see that the last dish is called "crash" but it can mean many things right? Probably it's called like that for its impactful flavors, there's no way they would simply crash the dishes and call it a day... right?
Well, after your full course it's finally time for the last dish, the smells from the kitchen are just great and after all you have experienced, you are just eager for the way they'll subert your expectations and then... they just throw everything to the ground while looking at you with a big smile, as if they're waiting to see your surprised face...
that's my experience with Katanagatari
I want to give it a 10 out of 10 and talk how its a hidden gem, but in this case maybe it's for the best that it remains hidden. Every chapter is incredible, all the details are perfectly crafted and if you know what to read, from the beginning the narrative tells you what to expect, of course you'll hope the protagonists will change that... and they do, indeed they do, but it's done in a way that -to me- feels empty and lackluster (I will not go into it further to avoid spoilers.).
I have no doubt that for many its final part is the best, but for me (and I would bet that for many others if this work were better known.) it does nothing more than ruin part of the development that the characters have taken up to that point, and it even throws in a couple of plot holes just to... be Novel? shock value? I don't know... It is true that the clues are there from the vary beginning, and a story should not always be about good triumphing over evil without any sacrifice but if you give the characters the tools to do it, it's a disservice to the characters and your viewers not doing it and just crashing everything in favor of greater impact.

I wish I had seen this during high school so I could have used it as an example of modern tragicomedy in my literature class.
That's right, this is not your typical shonen, shoujo, fantasy or even seinen (although it certainly qualifies in the latter); the genre of this work is in fact tragicomedy, something that as anime fans we are not used to seeing in a work and that may turn some people away.
Many may or may not like it, but we should at least applaud Akiba Wars for being a breath of originality and an example to follow in a medium that is being
...
filled by the day with repetition of the same plots over and over; where we only see wish-fullfillment protagonists who are nothing but poorly written self projections, brimming with plot holes and deus-ex machina moments.
That achievement alone is enough to make Akiba Wars stand head and shoulders above the vast majority of current anime -and TV series-, but one must also recognize all the technical value and passion of the team behind this work. Every detail has been taken care of, from the character design, to the voice acting, to the perfectly set music, without overlooking that black humor that is able to make you laugh even in the middle of a totally sad scene.
So if you haven't seen it yet and want to see something original or feel tired of seeing the same Isekai repeated every season, you shouldn't hesitate to give it a chance.

As a fan of the novel I have to say that this adaptation is quite disappointing, not only 2 entire novels were skipped (to be adapted soon into a single film), they also decided to adapt one of the longest novels -almost twice the size of the first volumes- into only 4 episodes, and you can imagine the amount of material that was cut out.
¿The problem with that? the wonderful thing about Overlord is its worldbuilding, very few authors take the time to develop a world where political intrigue has a real weight or where there is a magic and leveling system that is even

more developed than that of many current games.
I certainly didn't expect it to be a word-for-word adaptation, but this season feels as if they had played a recording at speed x2, giving you no time to marvel at Reines' machinations, or laugh at Ainz's incongruity or even be saddened by the tragedies that occur.... basically succeeding in cutting out the soul of the story...
I'm glad I got to see some of my favorite parts of the novels animated, but having done so at the cost of losing the essence of the novels... I can't say it's worth it.

If you know a little about the japanese way of working, or you were a fan of sentai series (like power-rangers) , this is a series not to be missed.
Although the theme and characters are not new concepts and fall into the typical tropes of series of this style, the series manages to give each one a fun "twist" that adds to the plot, which is not often seen in series like this.
And although the animation and audio quailty are quite poor, the anime makes up for it in plot and humor; it is a pity that this series is overlooked, when it is a

gem, especially the final chapter.
