Mob Psycho 100 has both style and substance. At first glance the concept doesn't seem all that original. Boy has psychic powers. Boy gets stronger and must fight bad guys. But the show pokes fun at the trope of the "special one", while still being a pretty cool representation of it.
There is a particular vision and theme that comes across well right till the very end. The show was immensely enjoyable while still having a clear message to give.

The first half of the series was beautiful and intriguing, and if I could rate the first half individually I'd have given it a 9 or even a 10. I loved the style and initial premise, and although a lot of people complain about the (slow) pacing of the show that was never an issue for me.
Most of the early episodes were one shot stories that introduced interesting characters, all facing the demise of the world in their own way. The major issues come in the second half of the series where it tries to develop and resolve its overarching plot. The progression of ... |
