Overall this show gets pretty good towards the end and it was worth watching. However at the start the show tried to be too realistic,which made it unrealistic. I find it hard to believe that after basic training,6 of them would struggle against 1 goblin,even in hard video games like sekiro,it is quite easy to kill 1 npc after playing the tutorial. The characters in this show are pretty decent and showed good development throughout.

This show is a 10/10 and everything in this show is perfect(seriously).
Pros: Every character is very well done with their own unique personality,motivations and flaws,which makes the characters more realistic. Animation is pretty good for a show that is more than 20 years old,all the fight scenes were extremely exciting. Good soundtrack just makes the fight scenes even better. Decided to watch this as i was curious about all the hate surrounding this show and wanted to see if this show is a complete dumpster fire. In short,this show is flawed but enjoyable.
Aincrad arc Pros: From a show that was released in 2012 the animation is stunning and can still hold up today Good world building(for the floors that were actually covered) Good soundtrack,boss fight music really adds to the atmosphere. As the story starts we are immediately thrown into the battle that the protagonist was fighting,The abilities and the personality of the MC along with the eye catching animation hooked me immediately. As the MC is about to bleed out he gets transported into another world and teams up with other historical figures and together they try to save the world. I dont like most of the cast in this show for some reason(besides Maine) despite many people liking them. The show is too short to properly develop the characters and their motivations and/or their motivations feel a bit generic to me,this results in the inability to connect with the characters on a deeper level.
