This is mostly the reason why I like to collect a series' manga or LN (basically their source material) so I can compare what happens between the two and what the anime might have missed out on. For instance, Youjo Senki was extremely interesting but it felt the adaptation skipped out on a lot of the details. My prayers were eventually answered by Yen Press and now they're selling the light novel here in the West, so I'm looking forward to receiving my copy for the first volume this Tuesday ^_^

Ah, yes, so Discord is pretty much a communications program where you join servers, and there you can talk through voice, sharing pictures, gifs, videos, and even voice chat if enough folks are up for it. It's probably the best thing out there since Skype or Windows Live Messenger back in their primes.

I'm not sure if you've made an account or not, but be sure to do that at https://discordapp.com/, log in, and then join our server through the following link: https://discord.gg/jM35cfX (where you'll then approve the invite). I recommend downloading and using the app, but you can also access the servers through the browser.

Both have the potential to do some really great stuff when they put the effort into it, so I hope we can get something that might find its way on my top favorites list. It's good to hear from manga readers on how good a series is, but in my experience that can often fall short as a result of a studio's failure to adapt properly. Let's hope that doesn't happen this go around, because I've actually been looking for a nice and cute series that actually has a decent overarching theme.

Ah, that's good. Only reason I bring it is is that I have a general purpose/anime-themed chat with a bunch of mates. If you'd be interested, we'd love to have ya.

Ah, got quite a few mates from the UK. Nice to have another!

I wish I could find more seinen to enjoy. I thought about giving Inuyashiki a watch, but I wasn't too happy with what I've seen about the CGI. Might bit the bullet and give a go anyway, but that's for a time down the road. Mahoutsukai no Yome seems to be excellent in terms of a fantasy anime, and I've already got the first volume of the manga, so I hope I do like that for sure.

The Trigger/A1 Productions team up for Darling in the Franxx excites me quite a bit. I've been waiting for Trigger to put out something as excellent as Kill la Kill had been, but we've been a bit dry over the last few years. Ryuuou no Oshigoto! looks like it could be seriously cute or kinda bland, so I'm hoping for the former.

Do you happen to use Discord?

No problem, ^_^. I really like your accent.

It certainly was a good year, and I only wish I had gotten more closely involved beforehand. The same applied to be for each of those series you mentioned, though I only really referred to Dragonball as anime. It's so strange to see how Pokemon has such an extensive animeography (if that's even a word).

If by style you mean what's my preferred genres, then that's pretty well explained here: https://myanimelist.net/blog.php?eid=801407

For a short-list, I enjoy fantasy, action, and dramedy. Not a fan of shounen or mecha, though there are some exceptions to this. Slice-of_life is also pretty good from time to time. My favorites on my profile are also a good list of what you might expect me to enjoy. We've seemed to have rated the series we share mutually quite closely.

I figured from your name you probably had some sort of deal on YouTube. I'm not particularly one to peruse anime-themed YouTube channels since a good bit of them focus too much on telling others what their opinions on X character, Y series, or Z genre should be, but I'll certainly give yours a shot. My YouTube is the same as my MAL handle, so I'll leave a comment there.

I've watched anime very sporadically over the years, only genuinely getting into it as a serious watcher around July 2016 where I began watching Fairy Tail with my friend. After that came Kenpuu Denki Berserk, and then 2017 happened where it became my big year. Unfortunately, this last third was pretty inactive because I had to focus on studies, but I feel I should be better prepared for handling it all come next semester (less classes, too!)

Before that, I used to watch it mostly through clips and the like, though back when Toonami was decent on Adult Swim, I hit up series like Cowboy Bebop, InuYasha, and Code Geass even.

I generally have a short list of series I am anticipating when it comes to the next season, but it tends to grow as I notice folks are liking X or Y series a bit during their course. The community isn't always, hell even rarely, right about seasonals, but I try to give the ones that seem outstanding a shot.

For me, I'm thinking Citrus, Takunomi., Darling in the Franxx, Ryuuou no Oshigoto!, and Marchen Madchen. This upcoming season looks like it could be as good as Winter 2017, which itself was outstanding with all the great titles it offered.

Hell, I still gotta catch up on Mahoutsukai no Yome from this season and Made in Abyss from Summer 2017, lol. Being a uni student has left me with little time to keep up with the flow of things, lol.

Ah, I'm quite honored, though you need not refer to me as senpai. I might have joined before you, but you are definitely the superior in the amount of series you've watched. I'm quite jealous, really!

Is there anything you're looking forward to seeing next season?

Hey there mate! Caught your post on the forums. I'd love to be friends or just chat if you're interested, since you seem to have quite the extensive library and have an excellent personality.

Hit me up if interested ^_^
