This manga started in the first few chapters as a promising psychological gore horror series, but things soon went south leaving us readers with a mess of unjustified violence with no writing and zero horror factor, simply awfully gore violence for the sake of it.
I got to know this series from a YouTube video, now I deeply regret opening YouTube that day, I decided to give it a shot cause we don't have many horror series nowaday but it was a mistake, beware of this manga.
Basically the story is about this condo in which the landlord looks like a teenager and keeps the tenants basically
...
locked up, forcing them to always smile in front of him, punishing them in the most deprevated ways when they make mistakes, taking advantage of the younger girls of the condo in front of their parents, yeah the author probably just felt like this series was his chance to show the world how much he hates living, or either how much he likes free violence I guess, such a despicable tale.
Art is pretty decent, it conveyes whatever the hell the author wanted to share with us perfectly, but it's not enough to save this mess, all and all I cannot give it more than a 5 out 10, definetely not recommended.
DO NOT READ THIS SERIES, PLEASE!

After four episodes I feel like it's the time to share my impressions on this series, I think we saw it's going to go on in the next episodes and, possibly, future seasons.
So, this is a simple cute slice of life series about this Ramen restaurant owned by cats and this girl who starts working part-time at the restaurant, the interactions between her and the various cats are always entertaining and wholesome, and we are starting to see more human characters that are friends with the owner, voiced by the amazing Kenjiro Tsuda (also props to the lawyer guy, voiced by Takaya Kuroda, the va
...
for Yakuza's main character Kiryu Kazuma).
We are not talking about an anime of the year candidate but it's a solid slice of life anime, with the only downside being the obviously low as hell budget, that brings a lot of slightly jarring cgi animated characters when not in close-up shots, but you easily get used to it, this is not a series that needs a blokbuster level budget to be enjoyable.
I guess it's a 7ish out of 10 series, gonna define the score once it finishes airing, but I'd recommend checking it out...

137 chapters in, almost caught up, felt it was the right time to think a cool review for this manga.
I'll start by saying that I'm a huge fan on The Seven Deadly Sins, it's one of the first anime I've watched when I started watching anime "seriously", and it still holds a special place in my heart, even with the awful last season and, especially, the last arc about Chaos.
With this premise I shouldn't like this new manga either, since the central point of Four Knights of the Apocalypse is literally the continuation of the Chaos arc, showing how Arthur and New Camelot evolve in
...
a threat to the entire Britannia but, surprisingly, I'm enjoying it a lot. I watched up Four Knights of the Apocalypse anime on Netflix when the two batches of episodes dropped, and maybe because the last few pieces of anime of the series were so laughably bad (even tho I didn't hate the second part of The Grudge of Edinburgh) I was enjoying a lot, and the finale was crazy hype!
So I decided to pick up the manga and I'm so glad I did it, cause the aftermath of season 1 is so cool, and it's been a really fun ride so far. Of course it's not something incredible, but it's enjoyable, and that's what matters after all, in these type of series, right?
Art is pretty cool, even tho in some pages there is a slight lack of details, maybe due to strict deadlines that the author found difficult to meet, but anyway no complaints here, the action is always fully understable and the character designs are lovely.
Dunno how long it's gonna be, but I hope it's not gonna be longer than 300 chapters, gonna make another review when it finishes of course. I hope that thanks to the anime more people can read it, cause it's worth sparing some time for it.
Score so far: 7.4/10

So, here we go again with the almost yearly dose of Nanatsu no Taizai, this time with the anime adaptation of the sequel of the og series.
We all remember how badly the og series ended, with the last season, with a stupid plot point after the end of the Great Holy War that led to an awful last arc, centered on the figure of Arthur.
And the last arc of the og Nanatsu no Taizai is basically the "spawn point" of this new series, with the main theme being the fight between the "evil" forces of New Camelot led by Arthur and the Four Knights
...
of the Apocalypse, the main characters of this series, that are supposed to save the world from ruin (in the eyes of Arthur's knights they are the villain that will destroy the world) and are the equivalent of the Seven Deadly Sins of the og.
Without spoiling much, I'll say that the main cast is more interesting than what I was expecting getting into this new anime, I really like Percival and the other three knights of the Apocalypse, and the recurring characters from the old series never seem to be forcefully put in the story for the sake of fan service.
A thing I liked a lot is how in the first half of this first season the touch points with the old Nanatsu no Taizai are just a few, which helps introducing the main main character Percival and his band of new friends in a better way than just be presented as more than just "new Nanatsu no Taizai characters", and with the episodes 16-17 we get "bombarded" back into Nanatsu no Taizai, as the good feeling and memories of the first two seasons of the og, before the downfall started in the third season, start to resurface.
Yes, this series is not incredible or anything new, but being able to experience the emotions of seeing the first steps of Meliodas and company again thanks to the adventures of Percival is priceless, the writing is not good, but this anime has a heart, a heart that pulses so strongly that it's capable to move you even with the apparent mediocrity of its bearer. I was just happy, watching this series...
Visually is not that bad, apart from some really appaling cgi in the first half, but in the second it gets pretty decent, and the finale has some greatly looking light effects, doing the scenes justice. Music is also fairly decent, no complaints here.
All and all, we are not talking about anime of the year of something of sort, but it's nice enough and it seems to have the potential to redeem the character of Arthur Pendragon, awfully written in the final arc of Nanatsu no Taizai, I'm kinda hyped about the second season, coming this fall!
Final score: 7.2/10

Of course, as it happens every year, we are presented with the new generic battle shonen from the pages of Shonen Jump, with the only content being good animations, which of course gets the people crazy, cause why writing a new and interesting story when you can just recycle already seen stuff creating your "own" version of the Frankenstein monster that the current battle shonen genre has become.
This time the bad guys are the kaiju, goofy ahh creatures with their sole intention being harming humans, and of course, in Attack on Titan fashion, alongside the dumb beast like majority there's some that are intelligent
...
and seem to be organizing an evil plan against humanity, and the good guys are the military corps that tries to defend the poor humans of Japan (or at least so far it seems that the world is only Japan).
The mc, Hibino Kafka, is probably the only good thing (apart from visual quality) about the series, he's definetly inspired, at least in personality, by Gintama's Sakata Gintoki, sharing his being older than the average mc, and of course he's so bad in fighting and needs a power up given by a weird entity inside them, this time a kaiju that flies into his mouth and acts as the Kurama/White (not gonna cite Black Clover and JJK, they don't deserve it) of the situation and things go south pretty fast. Not gonna elaborate further, it's just typical battle shonen tropes that gets repeated and are somewhat enjoyable to watch I guess, if you wanna turn your brain off after a day of work...
Special praise goes to Studio Khara, they made the kaiju designs and they are amazing to look at, while the faces of the characters are a huge L, they decided to made them more simple than the manga counterpart and look absolutely horrible.
All and all I'll give it a 7.5/10, worth a watch if you have watched the important stuff already...

AWFUL, JUST AWFUL!!
That's the most I can say about this DISGUSTING season. Demon Slayer was already a decent at best series, shining only cause of the beautifully animated fight scenes, with bad writing, a stupid cast of characters and repeated typical battle shonen tropes, but this is season is even worse, cause we don't even get the action.
And what's left, if not the action?! Absolutely nothing, that's the answer. To make matters worse, Ufotable decided to make this 8 chapters long arc longer in the anime version by making it 8 freaking episodes, adding boring unnecessary stuff....
4th episode is the reason I decided to review
...
this piece of fiction in the first place, who the hell decided that forcefully putting a paper plane contest between a Hashira and his trainees was a good idea?! Episode 4 has the be the worst anime episode I watch in a long loooong time, I felt nauseated after finishing it....
Ufotable really made a mess with this season, the only decent parts were the beginning of first episode and the past of Tomioka, everything else should be put in the trash can...

If you are fan of Naruto you should definetely read this one-shot, cause it's really good. It basically tells the story of how the "rasengan" was invented and it shows more in dept the bond between Kushina and Minato, and partially also the one between Minato and Jiraya. It's definitely nothing incredible and it won't spark a new series, unlike Bleach's Hell Arc one shot, but it's a nice read and something that could come straight from the original manga (would be nice to see it in a special episode airing on tv, but with the new anime coming in September I don't see it
...
coming, maybe as a blu-ray bonus for a possible new Boruto/Naruto movie?). The art is the same you saw in the original manga, and that can be both a good and a bad thing, because the panels are really well drawn, but it always feel like an old style, unlike Bleach's and One Piece's fresh style of the latest publications. Still it's pretty neat and a couple of two pages panels at the end are really cool. The only criticism I have for this one-shot is towards the fans (since the decision on who to make a one-shot about was given through fan votes): of all the side characters you literally chose the one with a full flashback arc already in the main series, we could have had something about more obscure characters, I especially have in mind something about Neji that apart from his end was basically absent throughout the entire "Shippuden" part, or maybe something about Killer Bee or Rock Lee, or even something more about Hashirama and Tobirama, since most of what we saw was in the anime and was filler episodes.....
Whatever, this is still a nice little chapter.

First thing and the most important: this movie is insane, I was in awe throught the entire 90 ish minutes it lasted.
I'm gonna start my review by saying I'm not particularly a fan of Masaaki Yuasa, apart from Tatami Galaxy, Ping Pong and Kaiba I didn't really like his other works that much (especially that awful Japan Sinks 2020, that was just pure garbage), but this movie is really a damn masterpiece.
For context, to enjoy it the most you should be kinda familiar with some aspects of Japanese history, namely the Genpei war (for that I can recommend the brilliant Heike monogatari anime series, made
...
by the same studio of this movie) and the Nanbokucho period of the Ashikaga shongunate, the era in which this movie is set, and a bit of Noh theater's history, since we see the two most important playwriters and perfomers of the traditional Sarukagu (later renamed Noh), Kan'ami and Zeami.
The tale is simple enough, but it's narrated flawlessly in a kind of "musical movie" way, with most of the scenes later on dedicated to musical and dancing exhibition, but with a modern twist. I gotta say all the songs are great and memorable, I was really surprised. I wouldn't say I was emotionally impacted that much, but it gives you enough emotional investment to care about the two main characters, Tomoari and Inu-Oh, both of them are really good characters. Where the movie shines the brightest are the visuals, not necessarily because of stunning animations, which are actually presente (in some scenes it goes really crazy), but because of great direction and inspired visuals, it's really pleasing.
If you care enough about Japanese history and also a bit of music/theater this movie is incredible and deserves to be watched and appricieted by more people

Saw the movie yesterday at my city's theaters, and it was an all around enjoyable experience. Prior to this movie I had already watched all Shinkai's movies and animation shorts, and after watching Suzume no Tojimari I can safely say 5 Centimeters per Second it's still his best movie.
For like the 6th time Shinkai presents the same type of story we got to see in all his other movies, every time with some different elements, but of course the main themes of disaster and impossible love are still present. This time the movie uses the earthquake, a theme that's really important to Japanese people,
...
to convey its message, especially having central to the story the earthquake of Kanto in 1923 and the recent disaster of Fukushima (most of those who didn't study Japanese history won't probably understand it's Kanto's earthquake when it will be slightly mentioned, not that it's that important to the plot itself). The first three quarters of the movie are really slow, while having some good scenes, and kind of light hearted, not that it's a bad thing on its own, especially after the emotional burdens that were forcefully placed throughout Kimi no na Wa and Tenki no Ko. The plot itself becomes relevant in the last part of the movie that, I have to say, is actually really good, while I still think that the supporting main character Souta could have been flashed out in a better way. Apart from him and Suzume herself there's also a cat in those characters worth mentioning, yet it's character is kind of misterious throughout the entire movie, and also by the credits roll it's not really clear what was its objective, I have my theories but I'll let the watcher think for himself. In the end, the plot is nothing incredible, but it's enough to support the movie. I noticed, like in his past work Children Who Chase Lost Voices, that Shinkai took some inspiration from some of Miyazaki's works, this time mostly visually rather than movie structure wise.
The production quality is incredible as the other movies, with a great music score, even though not as good as Kimi no na Wa and Tenki no Ko, and even better animations than his previous movies, with also a really good use of CGI, present in those classic visually breathtaking Shinkai's action scenes.
All around it's still the same exact movie we have seen multiple times, there is really nothing new to the formula, but it's still worth watching, because it's really enjoyable. The most I can give it is a 8/10, I hope Shinkai will try to spice things up in the next movie
