A lot of people who don't regularly watch sports-based anime, or have not done in the past often overlook this underdog with beast-like strength.
Hajime no Ippo took me personally by surprise because I am one of many who did overlook it, and I have nothing but regret for doing so. Clannad: After story does a fantastic job of culminating all the loose ends and "what next" questions that many viewers could be left with after watching Clannad.
In watching an anime such as this, we often ask, "Did they live happily ever after?"
And this is a direct sequel trailing directly from their school lives into a goldmine of drama, plot twists and hilarity.
There is a vast amount of complex character growth to be seen in the protagonist, Okazaki, and there is a fair amount of rewatch value because it can be difficult to grasp the plot at times if you're not used to this kind ...

Clannad (Anime) add
This is a very mediocre Shoujou anime. There is nothing unusual about it, the staple characters enjoyed in most modern stories are all here, and the typical dilemma exists; a delinquent boy is put in a variety of insane situations given a plethora of overly-cute girls who are all inexplicably in love with him.
There are many entertaining moments; but i would personally say that it does not go beyond that word- Entertaining.

One of the characters in this out-of-the-ordinary masterpiece describes this anime very well.
For those of you familiar with the term "tsundere", prepare for yet another stereotypical storyline where the spiky hardshelled teen has a difficult love life, learns the meaning of happiness, and solves crimes with his generic emo friend.
But the difference here is, that the walls that usually separate what is acceptable in a program and what is not don't exist. So the psycho rapist WILL have his way with his sister, people who deserve it WILL die and not come back again, and your heartstrings WILL be pulled at watching it.
