i was expecting you to give a lower score since you said "This is a very mediocre Shoujou anime."... i gave it a 6 myself xD
but i see you enjoyed clannad's after story, which around the middle took a 360 turn and finally continued the story. Was that what made you give it a higher score than the first ?
Well, it isn't Shounen either. Like you say most boys probably wouldn't go for it, if anything I'd say the series leans more towards Seinen than anything.
Where did you see discontent in my comment? You make really bad assumptions young boy. Especially seeing what you think of Clannad. The main evidence providing that Clannad isn't a shoujo is the fact that the protagonist is male. Because no matter the work, the viewer will always tend to put themselves in the place of the main character. A true shojo will have a female main character, as in Fruits Basket for example. I think it's a fairly obvious principle. Especially for harems. A show about a young man surrounded by women, its for men. A show about a girl surronded by men, it's for women.

Because it isn't shoujo. It is not generally targeted toward female viewers. The anime is based on a visual novel aimed towards males, that said it could work for either male or female viewers. But, it is not targeted solely towards females like, say, something like Kimi ni Todoke or Fruits Basket.
