BTW, have you been delivering democracy and liber-tea to some bugs and automatons? Because I have! If you are, we should do so together some time, play some games like the old days haha. I have it on Steam, but it is linked to my PSN.
Shangri-La and Apothecary are both good standouts that I have been watching. The characters of Apothecary are enjoyable and seeing some dude who is just unbelievably overpowered, but not in the normal trope way, is refreshing. Story is interesting too, which helps.
Happy New Year buddy! Hope you had a good one. We just got back from our New Years shrine visit so we can get the good luck arrow for this year. Year of the dragon this year now.
Apothecary Diaries and Shangri-la Frontier are pretty good.
I did not pick Heavenly Delusion up, but I will have to check it out. And yes man, Summertime Rendering is so good. I want to tell you shit about it, but it will spoil it. You just need to watch it dawg. Definitely one of the best shows that came out that season, next to Lycoris Recoil as well.
Word word. I will have to pick it up then. I put it on my to watch so when I finally finish my underway I can go download it and watch it. If it is like Your Lie then that is dope. Does it have a sad tone to it? I think with the music in Your Lie, and the soul crushing story it was just a masterpiece.
Word, I will be looking forward to the next season of Jigokuraku then. It is a pretty fire anime. I have to wait until I get home again in a few months probably to finish everything from this season. There hasn't been anything that has truly been like omg this is the best like I felt with a few seasons ago with Summertime Rendering. If you haven't watched that yet, definitely give it a view.
I will look into that musical anime. I do like musicals, after all Your Lie In April was technically one and it was great. One of my favs!
Also, gah-dayum you're reading and watching a ton of stuff. I wish I had the amount of free time I would need to be able to stay on top of all that haha. What from the current seasons is your favorite so far?
Jigokuraku is definitely up there for me, but Mashle is quite entertaining. I am going to have to wait a bit in order to finish all that though. Did you watch those two alternate timeline movies from previous seasons? The ones about your life is different based off of your choices in life and parallel worlds create based off of the other choice. One of them is like "To all of the other me's that have loved you"
Still keeping up with Gundam? This one has definitely taken an interesting turn of events with how the Aerial works. Did not see that coming, I really thought that MC was just uniquely unaffected.
I was planning on reading Noblesse (eventually lol). Mushishi has a ton of anime episodes, so I may or may not pick those up eventually. It was kind of a relaxing anime to watch, probably because of the music. Fumetsu I will wait until it is fully adapted most likely.
Promised Neverland season 1 was soooooo good!! Season 2, ugh. I will probably read that manga though, because season 1 was good enough.
Gundam... I love Gundam too much. I am looking forward to starting Witch of Mercury. I have been hearing mixed reviews, but I am sure the naysayers are just being stupid because the MC is a lesbian. I might have already said, but Wing and 00 were my favorite. I wanna try to find the "remastered" Wing Gundam that they released. I watched Origin, which follows Char and that was really good. I also watched Gundam Age, and that one is skippable. It was not very good. I still have a lot of Gundam to watch. You should watch that Gundam Hathaway. It is gonna have 2 more movies and the first movie was awesome!
I will need to try to find Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu then. Also, if it is Gundam, you have permission to write term papers lol. I love gundam. My wife thought Gundam was dumb/stupid/silly when I wanted to go to the Gundam Base in Tokyo and then when we went she saw how popular it was and the amount of celebrities that she followed who were involved in it. She ended up getting herself an SD model and built it. She enjoyed it and now always gets me a new model for my birthday/Xmas. This year I am looking forward to the MG Virtue from 00.
I currently only have a Top 5 lol. But I did update that list recently because there were things that I just loved more than what was originally there. I would really have to think about it when it comes to Top 10 though. My Top 5 is in order of #1 thru #5 though. Marin Kitagawa is the best girl of best girls ever and is just a dream come true lol. Hence #1.
Kingdom is a once a month new chapter as well and now I am fully caught up so I am going to have to forget about it for another like 2 years and then play catch up again. I will probably check our Rulers of the Land eventually. It sounds interesting though.
I feel like I have partaken in some Noblesse, definitely in the anime and PV, though maybe not the manhwa. When you say Mushishi, is that the white haired guy gong around and resolving issues caused by spirits? I watched that as an anime and thought it was good. I will consider the Fumetsu manga. My preferred is obviously anime, but in cases such as Promised Neverland I have heard that it is a must read over watch. Having not read that one, even I could tell that they rushed the second season of that one. There were literal time skips.
I am looking forward to getting home so I can pick up the new Witch of Mercury gundam. I am hoping it is awesome. I see that you started it, and they already announced a part 2 (like they seem to always). If I like it enough I will add it to the gundam model kits I will get. Have all of Endless Waltz and then I moved onto Gundam 00, not sure what series after that I absolutely need though.
I have heard good things about Solo Leveling (which is getting an anime adaptation), but what is Rulers of the Land which is in your Top 10 on your profile for manga?
I liked that it had some dark themes. It made for a really good "coming of age" story and Hisoka was probably one of the best villains I have ever seen. I still need to watch the final season of Game of Thrones. Need to find someone with it downloaded so I can get it off of them.
Fumetsu no Anata e was so good. I knew I was in for a ride when the first episode got me in my feels so badly. The final episode was so good too. I saw that ending coming with Pioran, but still, it was so gut wrenching. Felt bad for Fushi. A second season is coming out for it I believe in winter or right now. I forget.
Yeah, Kingdom is dope. It is essentially perfectly following the manga, so I know everything that is going to happen already, but it is still dope to watch. Some crazy shit is going down in the manga right now, its almost to 800 chapters.
Yeah, I definitely need to read Berserk. I was never a huge manga fan, but ever since I joined the navy I started reading manga. It is unfortunate Kentaro Miura passed away, even my wife knew who he was and she is not a anime/manga person. I've actually gotten her to watch some though, and she's enjoyed it. Got her to watch Hunter x Hunter (2011) and she loved that.
Yeah, I just like the vendetta/revenge and how Goblin Slayer's whole being is to kill goblins. However, where it is in the manga he is actually changing and becoming more of a party leader. He's re-obtaining his humanity, which is cool. AoT was okay for me, I did not like how they hyped up things and then it was a minor plot point really (the basement). The final chapter was annoying though, the time advancement and it having a movie about the "legend" of the titans as a movie. Felt it cheapened the ending.
Gotcha. And agreed. There were quite a few I had picked up and once I get home I am actually planning on picking up a few more from the past season that looked good from the ratings on MAL. I am happy Kingdom (since season 2) has been finally getting the respect it deserves and having superb animation, instead of that terrible CG animation that season 1 was.
I was thinking of finally reading Berserk lol. Never picked it up. I finally caught back up on Goblin Slayer(s) and Kingdom though. And finished AoT finally (thought it was kinda meh though).
I have Made in Abyss, Classroom of the Elite, Dungeon S4, Overlord 4, Devil is a Part timer 2, lycoris recoil all on my to watch list for this season. I am underway, so I have 10-12/13 total episodes downloaded for them all. Will get the rest once I am home. Started Lycoris, which I am liking, but Overlord I just don't like as much. TBH the characters are unenjoyable and it is completely different from season 1 which I loved. I guess I am just saying I feel it is also lackluster. I think season 4 I will finish and if there is anything past that I will probably not pick it up.
Summertime Render is awesome. It started last season, highly recommend it!
My Dress Up Darling was amazing! As for games, started playing Elden Ring and Sekiro, however, I am looking forward to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. It is another souls-like game but it is made by the same people that made Nioh 1/2 and it is set in the Three Kingdoms Dynasty, so hyped about that.
