The animation and designs are amazing. Those are really the only good things I can say about the movie.
The story is remarkably boring and doesn't seem to go anywhere or have a point to it. I suppose you could say it was unpredictable though as I had hoped it would go somewhere at least.
Other than Shiro, I can't even remember the names of any of the characters. They're all forgettable. Shiro's motivations seem unclear and I don't really understand why he does any of the things he does. The relationship between two of the main characters is confusing and completely uninteresting. Bleach isn't all bad.
Ichigo is actually a pretty good MC. He's a cool guy and didn't whine and bitch all the time. Great. There are a lot of great, interesting characters throughout the show. Watching them grow and progress was pretty cool. Some of the arcs were initially interesting but dragged on for way too long and got really boring. The number one thing this show suffers from is the "Ha! You shouldn't have underestimated me and turned your back on a presumed dead opponent" trope. I watched the English version: Digimon Fusion. From a Digimon fan's perspective there's a lot of weirdness about this show. It doesn't really follow the same formula of everyone gets a Digimon companion, everyone needs to learn lessons and grow, the Digimon actually digivolve into cooler more powerful forms, etc. Despite being so different, I found it pretty ok.
Mikey is probably one of the most responsible main characters of any Digimon series I've seen (especially compared to Marcus). He seems to think things through and actually look out for his friends. The supporting characters aren't amazing but they're not horrible either. I would say one ...

To understand where I'm coming from, I'm a huge Digimon fan. I have been since I was a kid watching them air on tv. I never watched Savers when I was younger so I came into this fresh.
Initially I absolutely hated this show. I watched the English dub and despite having some great VA's, they couldn't save some awful writing. I, like many people, found the intial arc to be horrible. Its really boring and doesn't get you to care about the universe or the characters. Many characters seem to be copies of other main characters from other series. Over time it did get better ...

Isekai is a very overused genre. That said this really had none of the hallmarks of your typical isekai (no hero, no new powers, no driving quest, etc). It was much more like an episodic show that doesn't attempt to go anywhere with a plot or attempt to show you the journey or development of a character. Some of those things sound like bad things, if that's what you're looking for. But if you're just looking for something calm, interesting and wholesome, this could be it.

To preface, I'm a Digimon super fan and I have been all my life. I loved the first 3 seasons (Adventure 1, 2 and Tamers) but by the time Frontier was airing I guess I was doing something else because I never got around to watching it. I just remembered the cool designs of the main characters.
