Hello, and thanks for reading the second edition of the Anime Guild's Newsletter!
We are proud to announce that we’ve introduced several new features to our line-up of great activities =).
Our first new feature is our Seasonal Opening Competition. We at the Anime Guild provide a great assortment of Seasonal Activities and we believe that this will be a great addition to the line-up. So if you’re a huge fan of openings make sure you pay attention to the rest of our tournament -.^.
Secondly we are attempting to incorporate more Manga to our club with our Weekly Manga Discussion. Where you members vote upon what manga to read for the week and then can discuss that with other members of the club.
Lastly we have something a little different in our Seasonal Power Rankings where we take a group of people AND SHOVE THEM INTO A STEEL CAGE TO FIGHT IT OUT! Nah seems too violent if you ask me. We’ve set up a power ranking committee that will come together and discuss which x-amount of anime to watch per season and rank them from 1 to 10-15 every 3 weeks during the course of that season. Please enjoy our masochism =p. Second Edition should be posted on May 18th.
We are now halfway through the Spring 2015 Season and our Seasonal Discussion continues to grow as one of the more popular activities in the club. Please join the discussion if you want to journey with us to the climaxes of the various shows =O.
SAO2:
Asuna was always like that from the very beginning, with some struggles, having troubles in choosing what is important etc. 1st anime season haven't emphasized them at all, tho. And Mother Rosario focused on these struggles mostly, so in anime MR may cause some shock and seem like everything comes out of nowhere.Personally I think some struggles makes character a bit more natural. Anyways, I've always visualized Asuna as strong and independent person, because she is strong in any case, unlike Kirito (anime also doesn't emphasize the experiences and struggles etc, even tho they drop some hints, about asuna too. It's a shame, because lack of monologues doesn't let to tell what Kirito is experiencing and what person he actually is)
Regarding novels... I haven't read any literature or lecture since a long time ago... It has really turned me off due to secondary school. So I'm not aiming on picking that up.
That's a shame! :(
You don't know how much you are missing!
Anyways, even though you didn't like classical literature, I would highly suggest you to at least try LN (or maybe even modern literature?), because the overall style is very very different from the classics , you may found out yourself loving it :)
Watching Yamada... It's SOO fun to watch! I love this anime! Urara-chan is just cutesy bomb :3
Haha, yeah, Steins gate was pretty cool! Even tho first half made me a bit mad...
Regarding my favorites... Every anime I rated 10 & is in my top5 list heavily affected me and I love all of them a lot. But if I had to chose the one... Hmm I would chose between SAO and Madoka. Madoka is just completely stunning in any aspect for me, and SAO just has something special that makes it stand out :)
hey there! Once again sorry for late reply :(
This time it's gonna be quite the wall of text...
Regarding SAO2, Personally I thought Asuna got even more depth in Mother Rosario. GGO for me was a bit let down, but still pretty interesting. I've read novel so I knew everything what is going to happen, but this arc wasn't my favorite in the LN too. But MR just made SAO2 for me. First of all, because I loved Yuuki character and more focus on Asuna, even tho I knew everything from the novel. It was awesome to see everything animated :)
What put you off in SAO2? ^^
By the way, I really recommend you to try to read sao novels, it gives you more details about everything. The mini stories, the monologues and the incredible world-build always keeps you interested and amazed, even if you have watched anime, because they skip A LOT of things there (It's not as I'm complaining at all. Books are always more detailed and better than adaptations)... so Yeah..
I'm watching few shows this season. I think it's a good season.
Danmachi is truly interesting, one of my favorites this season. And yeah, it gives some SAO vibes, even if it's a bit different. I'm rooting for Ais, she is so cute i(^'^)i Reminds me Asuna for some reason.
Yamada kun... Based on first episode I can say that it's amazing. It's so fun to watch that I'm waiting to air more episodes, so I'll be able to marathon it xD Absolutely addicting.
Currently I'm watching Knights of Sidonia. The first season was such a surprise for me. I don't even know why did I drop it after the first episode... Fortunately, I've picked it up again. Personally, I thought it was something like SnK but better, because of less "ass-pulls". It drew the mystery and never let up the tension, always keeps you interested. Also It's pretty good Sci-fi story. Even if the plot was not that "original" (like that exist, lol), but that simply plot was very well executed, because I've never felt that episode should end faster (you know that feeling, loL xD). And yeah, THE MUSIC & SOUND EFFECTS, THE CGI, gosh... Second season is airing so it's too one of my favorites this season.
Owari no Seraph is pretty cool too. Though, I'm mostly watching it because of Hiroyuki Sawano. He always makes everything feel so epic. Everything where he is involved is just pure win, ha. I love his music, it always makes me pumped up. I also love to play the pieces on piano.
and well, UBW.. This one is disappointing for me (well, not if I had much hope in the first place..) It seems to be the most anticipated show of the season by many, tho.
Oregairu is pretty good too. Yukino is cute ^^
Re-kan, plastic memories and others were meh. Tho, I think I'll try to catch up with Plastic Memories when I'll be in a right mood for feels, you know, lol
I'm also watching Assassination classroom, which is very funny and epic. The second season was announced not a long time ago ^^
I really should catch up on Grisaia, however I was thinking about reading the Visual novel maybe, still don't know what I'll do if I'll have more free time.

I'm doing well. However, I don't have much free time recently, because of exams. Piano also takes a lot of time, lol
Ye, I saw too that we have some similarities.
Have you been watching something interesting lately? ^^
Asuna for the win <3
