Rudeus the protagonist of this series is a pedophile. The show tries to explain this off by putting a 30 year old NEET into a boys body. It's really bad aside from animation ofcourse. I hate when he harasses Roxy his mentor constantly and its ridiculous. Eris is nothing but a stereotypical Tsundere and dont even get me started on Sylphy. I've lost all respect towards Paul and he's irredeemable. Half way through the series they visit a whole new continent which i thought would be interesting but they had to put a cringer version of god from fullmetal alchemist at the start of it.
...
To top it all off, all the side characters from the demon continent are just a rando animal head on top of a human body, are the creators out of ideas for character design already come on. The only thing mildly cool was when Ghislaine during the action set pieces. The scene where Rudy and Eris are in the bedroom made me want to puke.
This is disgusting.

Evangelion was truly ahead for its time. This is a show that i just have to talk about...
[SPOILER REVIEW AHEAD]
It's been about 2 weeks since i completed the movie and the more i think about it, the more interpretations i come up for the movie. I can't ever fully comprehend the movie. But i'll try to express why this movie is great...
We already saw the ending from inside of shinji's mind in the last 2 eps of NGE. Here, we saw glimpses of what happens to misato and Ritsuko. we witness the infamous "congratulation" scene, and we know that shinji has made right choice. However
...
we do not yet know what was his choice or its ramifications. This is unraveled in the movie aptly named episode 25 & 26. Everything in this movie ties all the lose ends from the series.
There is not much to discuss about Episode 25. We go through a slow process of seeing NERV Headquarters and central dogma getting destroyed. Most of the NERV personnel the killed as per SEELE's wish. The movie spirals down into the depths... by this shinji's hopes and dreams of happiness are crushed, as he is again forced to pilot the EVA.
It's important to know Shinji's psyche here, for him to gain courage and to come out of depression. he needed to find someone whom he can trust and give him a helping hand from time to time. From the start, we see no one ever helps him and NERV always uses him. Piloting the EVA has always caused him much grief. We see the fall of central dogma as we see shinji fall into a deep depression. Misato tells him that the world doesnt care about him and he needs to make his own choice, however it does't help him much.
At the start of the movie, after begging Asuka for help, we see him jerk on her, he sees himself as someone who is truly fucked up person. We see the absolute worst in everyone and it's really beautifully portrayed as such. Gendou Ikari going ahead with human instrumentality project even as NERV is falling apart. Asuka's confidence crumbling down as she is eaten to death. Ritsuko discovery at the end.
Even if shinji doesn't understand what is going around him, We as the viewer's see all of this unfold and all of this, adds to the state our characters are in, even if the they don't know it themselves. This makes the last scene impactful as we see through his eyes, unit 02 ripped apart. By showing NERV fall apart, it relates to how shinji himself is falling apart, by leaving him with no choices for him to take.
The themes explored are really wondrous. No one has ever shown a character study quite like shinji's or for that matter anyone from the cast. I didn't even touch rei's character and how complex she is. This is mainly a character driven show. But, the main highlight or rather what the movie does the best for me, is the message it delivers at the end. The ending is a masterpiece and ep 25 is just setting stage for it.
[APOLOGIES, MY HANDS ARE SWEATY FROM TYPING, SO I'LL UPDATE THIS REVIEW CONTAINING EP 26 LATER]

i finished this anime yesterday and this is a review for only season 1
[SPOILER REVIEW AHEAD]
i tried to watch this before, when it came out but i dropped it after 4 episodes, mainly because i felt it's not for me.... i couldn't have been more wrong.
I had taken a break from watching anime for a year now and feeling burnt out, i took to give this another try. Around 5th ep the show had me in its grip, It still was a slow start, i suggest to bear through first 4 eps, its not particularly bad or anything. These first few eps, show you
...
character relationships which are not yet explained how it came to be...
Around 5-6 eps in, we are shown rei's backstory and much is shown here on of how he was adopted and how the family crumbled and deteriorated. It's always shown how lonely and depressed rei feels. And yea this really hit home for me... i have gone through much of the same feelings and i was able to sympathize alot with him. All the torrent of emotion be it sadness or happiness are captured so perfectly.
In these first few episodes, we only see glimpses of kyouko, his step sister. She blames rei the way she is treated by her father. Gotou, kyouko's lover, at some point has beaten rei and it really stings to see it. Honestly their relation is difficult to put it into words, it's is way too complicated to describe the way rei feels about her. it's is complicated yes but in a good way. The scenes with kyouko are always so forlorn and mysterious. The series develops all the characters and explores them significantly. This show should be watched for its characters more than its story.
I particularly adore the 3 sisters who help out our protagonist, without them, this show would have turned too serious and sad. I like how akari and hina are always there for rei. The few times rei smiles is when he is with them.
I havent even talked about the other major theme of this show yet. I didnt know much about shogi, but after watching this show, i at least know the pieces and how they move. This is not a sports show, albeit it does a good showing of one. We are shown alot of shogi matches in the second half of the show. The matches are intense even for someone like me who doesnt know about the game at all. I thought gotou and rei would face off at the finals but rei loses to shimada at the semi finals. The matches are never predictive and even if you dont know shogi, you will feel the weight of each move in the match.
I really liked how shimada waits for rei to take the first step in asking for help and joining the workshop. Even after working so hard, it became impossible to defeat Souya. The workshop is the key to be better at shogi, i hope rei grows his relationship with shimada further. I really hope rei overcomes his depression which has tormented him for so long. It's something i really want to see from this series.
other than that, the ost and animation for the show are phenomenal. all in all, this is a fantastic show, a must watch...currently i'm watching season 2 and enjoying even more than season 1.

I first watched this about 7 years ago, although recently i rewatched it and it made me write this review...
[SPOILER REVIEW AHEAD]
Well this anime is quite good from its characters to its art. Looking at our cast of characters specifically Oreki is depicted as someone who is lazy to the core. He is good at solving riddles and through out the show Hyouka exudes mystery tone than a slice of life. Anyway coming back to Oreki, he is a fine character and has his quirks. I particularly like how he can turn anything climatic into anticlimactic just by saying he's tired and too lazy to
...
do it. His character is the one that develops the most across the show. Although he is still the same guy and not much has changed about him at the end, rather i think a change mustn't be a requirement for character building in general. His character is developed without changing any of his views, like how at the end he is not changed into being energetic or anything, he still desires to be lazy just like how he has always been.
Anyways its the decision Oreki takes through course of this show which fascinates me, like when at the start he realizes Chitanda would lead him to ruin so he makes the plan of presenting a mystery to her, a mystery that he created himself so that it wouldnt be tedious in finding a solution. Much of the time you as audience will be given clues to the mystery as it unravels. Any good mystery show should give you all clues to solve a puzzle and not hold out on any of them to make an ass pull at the end and this show has alot of good mystery. I could go on talking about other characters, its OST, etc etc but i think the elements i reviewed covers the heart of the show.
I don't usually write reviews but i recently started rewatching some classic shows most of which i have forgotten since i first watched and this has helped me to view it in a different light.

--NON-SPOILER REVIEW--
well this is my first review i chose this particular anime to write review because in a time where i wasnt enjoying animes as much as before, i felt this show is actually good. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something that is vastly different, who knows u might come across something u might like, however for me it had some glaring issues towards the end which i will discuss in a moment.
This anime has the elements of world building and is primarily mecha genre and also has slice of life elements. If u were expecting an action packed mecha
...
then be advised this is not it, although admittedly its action sequences were awesome even so they are few and far between. The actual appeal of this show comes from the slice of life elements and its characters, like when v see side characters harmoniously interacting with the protagonist in a way it feels real. If u have seen and liked the interaction in animes such as baccano or durarara then expect the same feel from this too with a large cast comparable to the previously mentioned shows. Now i must say job well done towards world building, there is a constant flux of new information to munch on by the end of an episode however focusing on the information itself i think few might have a like towards the way its delivered. All the information are delivered through the characters and they play a vital role in this. If u dont like the characters then i advise you to drop the show since this is a character driven show but i think the characters are all likable, relate-able reminiscent of characters from shows such as fullmetal alchemist, noragami few are mature, few of them carry a sense of humour, and a few actually three characters were uhmm i'll discuss this in the cons area of this review if it has one. So these sums up all the things that i like about eureka seven oh how can i forget about the ost its great im sure u'll be listening to it after the end of the show.
now coming to the elements which if u haven't noticed i have been foreshadowing, and they are the elements that i didnt like about the show which greatly decreased the points. NOW the previously mentioned the so called or atleast what i called "the glaring issues" is the shows plot. Seriously everytime it detracts from its normal episodic format to focus on the story it falls really short and clique. However there are 1 or 2 plotline which make u go wow, yet they are short and far too few. The characters apparently take a turn towards the clique type everytime they feel the pressured of the PLOT. For the shows own good u wont see much of these plot heavy episodes but towards the end as u suspect the show will focus mainly on plot which sour's the show alot(there are about 8 episodes of this at the end). Coming to the unlikable characters that i hinted before mainly those 3 kids. i cant cut slack even though they are 5-6 year old kids gosh they are annoying as kids crying on planes literally they cry everytime even when nothing is wrong just shut the hell up. i must have busted up my review writing upon them so yea i made my point.
The story is not the best however i like almost all the characters and the world building is fantasy esque, add that with solid action scenes and good character interaction and development then u have got a good show. It renewed my hope in finding a good show. I truly hope i can watch shows as good as this again.
