I’m sick of the endless onslaught of romance series where the female lead for no reason or believable set up is drawn to the male lead.
The excuse given in this manga is Akutsu uses Ooyama’s bedroom as her after-school hangout spot because his parents are never home. How she came to find this out is that she HAPPENED to be standing, waiting for no reason in front of his house, and Ooyama was forced to let her in. Why though, Ooyama even states she had never spoke to him prior to her barging into his home.

Ooyama, the male lead, is the typical typecast ... cowardly male student who can’t stand up for himself, and throughout the series is intended to slowly become more confident. This has been done multiple times in better, yet still flawed series like Nagatoro for instance. The primary issue I take with Ooyama is that he's a poorly written lazy attempt at a self insert character. Ooyama's personality boils down to he likes manga, anime, and big boobs. If this were any more self insert Ooyama's character would be replaced with a dotted line and text inside that states "You, yes you the reader". Overall I've noticed that male characters in these 'teasing' 'gal' or 'delinquent' genres are rather lazy self insert attempts at romance which seem to exist only to fulfill some audience fantasy.

Art in this series is really nothing that special, if anything it comes across more lazy than anything else. A majority of the series takes place in Ooyama's bedroom so I wouldn't be surprised if the mangaka reused the backgrounds. Also, Akutsu basically has only 2 facial expressions, one with a closed mouth flustered look, and the other a gaping mouth expression that is used in every other panel.

Akutsu-san is presented as an ecchi manga, now I’m not opposed to an ecchi series if well done, however this is more of a perverts attempt at a rom com. Akutsu will flash her panties or bra and joke about charging Ooyama for a peek, fine whatever it’s already established that she’s a delinquent.
The moment Please go home Akutsu-san crosses over into a series for pervs is when Ooyama gets horny from smelling Akutsu’s armpit sweat. Ooyama’s air conditioner was broken in his room, but they remain in the hot room. Other, more competent romantic comedies would take this opportunity to have them go outside together on some kind of unofficial date, or accidentally run into their classmates while out and rumors begin to spread that they’re dating, therefore advancing the relationship. Instead they remain inside a hot room with a broken A/C, Ooyama smells something, realizes it’s Akutsu’s sweat. She proceeds to rubs his face in her armpit, Ooyama gets horny and subsequently faints from his excitement.
Immediately after this chapter I dropped this smut series, don’t try to defend the events that unfolded due to a broken A/C with something like natural pheromones or whatever, you’ll only call yourself out that you’ve never been with a girl before.

Please go home Akutsu-san is a lazy self insert series, and a perverts idea of what romance is, aimed at desperate mouth breathing weebs hoping one day a girl will spend time with them for no reason or effort on their part.

I honestly feel like I'm being left out of one big meme after watching this show and seeing the abundance of 10/10 reviews.

Interspecies Reviewers is an ecchi anime that treads the line between anime and hentai. It's also the only works of fiction I know of that portrays just about every major fetish tag, and I do mean just about every popular tag on whatever your go to hentai website is. There's Big Tits, Elf, Fairy, Succubus, Vampire, Demon, Zombie, BBW, Futanari, Gender Bender, Femboy, Slime, Tentacles, Cyclops, Orgy, Group sex, lactation yep that here too, BDSM for those that are ... into that kind of thing, ...egg laying... unfortunately yes and it has an entire episode dedicated to itself.

Everything is here but it's all so shallow, the plot is as thin as the parchment the group posts their reviews on in the tavern. Each episode boils down to the group has sex with a specific species, or feature a specific fetish, they each write a paragraph review about their experience, assign a number rating from 0 - 10 rinse, repeat.

For the content that everybody is losing themselves over, yes they do show uncensored tits and that's about it, most of what's shown is from the belly button and up with the occasional exception being a bare ass or thighs. For Interspecies Reviewers to not cross over into hentai they mostly imply various sexual acts. An example is when the angel Grim is with a Succubus, instead of showing Grim's member a bottle of Kewpie mayo is used instead but it just ends up being a topless Succubus licking and eating Kewpie Mayo for a couple minutes. If we're being serious if you're older than 16 I don't see how you can get off to something like this.

Returning to my main issue with this anime, its lack of story, all subplot amounts to nothing. Grim's broken halo, he can't return to Heaven until it's fixed, it gets brought up a few times but there isn't any further development. The reviewer group runs into money troubles, but it gets resolved 60 seconds later. The Archmage that can make exact copies of herself steals angel Grim's man juice, she discovers that it's resistant to most forms of damage but again this doesn't go anywhere.

What about everybody's favorite character the 50+ year old human sex worker Mitsue, wasn't it so funny the 100 something times they trot her out for comic relief. Isn't it ironic that you find the 500+ year old elf more attractive that a 50 year old woman?!?? Most of the audience understood this and didn't care in the very first episode, however the writers kept bringing this up and bringing her back in the anime like if this fantasy world were to have STD's.

My final thoughts for Interspecies Reviewers is that if it weren't for the beautiful art style and animation this would have landed even lower in my rating. There is quite a lot of hentai with a better plot and more in depth characters that also show a lot more action than Interspecies Reviewers.

A story that is in a constant state between irritating and boring, Takagi-San is far from the light hearted slice of life rom com its commonly referred to as.

The moment I found Takagi an unredeemable character is when Nishikata is studying for a test in the library. You see Nishikata stay longer and put in more effort than the other male students. Takagi joins Nishikata while he's studying, he momentarily opens up to her despite all of the 'teasing' she has done at his expense. He states that his parents want to see him score in the top 50 in his class ... and he doesn't want to let them down so that's why he's staying longer to study compared to the other students. For the smallest amount of time you're led to believe that Takagi genuinely cares about Nishikata as she helps him study, correcting mistakes he made and explaining how to come to the correct answer. As she's leaving the library Takagi tells Nishikata that everything she helped him with won't be on the test, the following day and he ends up getting a failing grade meanwhile Takagi gets one of the highest grades on the test. If Takagi genuinely cared or had feelings for Nishikata this would have been the pivotal moment where she refrains from her constant 'teasing' and help her classmate crush in need.

The side story amongst the 3 female classmates only serves to break up the nonstop harassment/bullying portrayed in the main story. During these interludes nothing ever happens and it brings the flow of the anime to a halt, however boring these side characters and their plot are if they were not present it would be 20 minutes of school bullying.

To summarize the plot of the series, Takagi is always 2 steps ahead and can out-think Nishikata therefore he can never win against her. He tries everyday to not be 'teased' by her, he has endless internal monologue trying to out-think Takagi, he gets outsmarted by Takagi, his face gets red and she laughs at him rinse and repeat for 12 episodes.

Something that I thought I could at least overlook was how the characters are drawn, but the more I watched the more their giant foreheads make them look like weird anime aliens.

How this anime started made me want to clear my browser history and wish I used a VPN.

Most shows have some form of underlying message to them, whether it be to better yourself, there's more to life than work, power comes at a price, follow your dreams, etc. Whatever it may be you can find some form of message, and if I'm being overly kind to this anime I would say it's 'you can still make friends', however this is portrayed in the weirdest/creepiest way imaginable.

Miyako is a shy university student that rarely leaves the house and doesn't have any friends. Her younger ... sister Hinata invites her friends to their house to play and meet her older sister who she adores. Miyako has Hinata and her friends dress up in cosplay outfits that she made, takes photos of them modeling in the creepiest way while obsessing over 1 girl in particular, she then buys them off by baking pastries.
If the message is 'you can still make friends' why is it gone about in this way, this is legitimately the behavior of pedophiles!

The humor is overshadowed by these pedo undertones and the jokes are typically at the expense of Miyako with the punchline being the police will be called on her for acting the way she does.

There is little to no character arc, how the characters are written at the start is essentially how they are in the end. I think most viewers are tricked into believing there is some character development between the ones who are a stalker/obsessive and those who are being stalked/obsessed over. The more I reflect on what was shown the more it comes across as mild Stockholm syndrome and not genuine character development/growth.

So many questions are raised throughout the anime and essentially no message should be taken away by the viewer.
Why is Miyako so obsessed Hana?

Why is it portrayed it's ok to buy off Hinata and her friends with sweets?

What is Miyako doing with all these photos of Hana? She never mentioned it was for submitting them for her university studies.

And why is there an unmarked van outside my house now?!

Here's my takeaway.
Don't accept sweets from strangers. Don't do anything a stranger asks that makes you feel uncomfortable. If someone is stalking you get a restraining order. If you have a child look into getting a nanny cam.
