I like to analyze anime probably more than I should, and I make youtube videos on these said analysis. If for some odd reason you feel the primal inclination to check out my videos, my most recent video is linked directly below this sentence.
*An extremely in-depth Serial Experiments Lain analysis is in the works atm.*

MY RATING SYSTEM:
10/10 - Nearly perfect in every aspect of its execution, extremely coherent, and very memorable. Themes are masterfully intertwined with the main narrative, and resonate with me on a personal level. Simply put, a masterpiece.
9/10 - Still considered to be some of my favorites, however they may have a few, but hardly noticeable, shortcomings that prohibit me from awarding it a 10.
8/10 - Very well crafted and executed, but most likely has at least one key point that's missing in which I consider to be paramount in telling a strong and masterful narrative.
7/10 - Contains a number of flaws that are somewhat difficult to ignore, but none the less, are good in their own respects.
6/10 - Slightly above average, nothing really stands out besides one or two minor things. Easily overlooked.
5/10 - Average in all aspects, probably has some issues, but it's OK to a certain level.
4/10 - Borderline bad. Lacks any sort of meaningful structure or appeal, but still watchable to a certain degree.
3/10 - Riddled with lots of flaws, mistakes, and doesn't have any sort of perceivable depth.
2/10 - Has little to offer and seems to do almost everything wrong. Holds very little value to me as a piece of art or entertainment.
1/10 - No redeeming qualities at all and is generally insulting.
SIDE NOTE: When rating shows, I try my hardest to factor out most of the enjoyment aspects, and judge with as little as bias as possible in order to make the most tangible and perceptible ratings.
HOWEVER, seeing as I am a human being, this is not always the case and my ratings can be slightly skewed in that regard. Plus, it's a lot more fun basing ratings off objective reasoning, because I actually get to use my noggin.

A little bout' me, ya hear?
Name's Sloth on the internet, and I'm passionate about everything art—cheesy, I know. I'm relatively new to the anime scene, and ever since my inception into this shit-show of a medium, I've been infatuated with it. Something about it draws me in like no other entertainment outlet could, and I'm obsessed with finding out why. So, I make analysis videos and share my discoveries with anyone else that cares to listen in. But other than anime, I'm self-taught pianist, graphic designer, and writer with the hopes of one day making something I'm truly proud of. And err... don't know what else to say... Well, I guess I can just list off some of my favorite stuff—not that you care, though.

You sound like a guy who knows a lot about this show, so I want to ask you one question:
Do you think Smile lost his final match against Peco, and if yes, was it on purpose?
I also like that location reference.
